That's what I was looking for! My thoughts after watching the highlights.

The Red would have scored a lot more points if tackling was allowed the first half.

AM's stats should have been better drops and poor route running hurt. He did have a couple bad throws.

Backup QB's look athletic, but neither looks ready to play meaningful minutes yet.

If QB's were allowed to be tackled they would have gained a lot more yards.

The starting offensive line opened up some big holes.

    RBs looked good.

Ah. I knew I was missing someone! Yes Stille will start. Stille, Daniels, & Ty Rob.

There's a lot of players, so easy to do. Now it looks about right :thumbsWill be interesting at RB as it appears right now that injuries will determine the starter. Thankfully a long way until the start of the season so hopefully they all get healed by then

I like this other than the Falck and Alante Brown projections. Brown was in the rotation last year and should play a similar role to what Wandale had. Obviously he wont replace what Wandale produced but giving us a shifty wide receiver is always an asset.

I have to think that part of Frost’s attitude towards the WRs is that he finally has guys like Betts, manning, Brown and others that have finally been in the program long enough to know what they are doing and look good. These are guys that should be stretching the field and making the offense better.

    it’s exciting.

I really want to drink the KoolAid. We seem to have more of the pieces this year. Could be the year we've been waiting for. Then I remember the last several years and it tempers expectations.

Meh, a lot of those players in the portal are in there because they never were able to see the fied or if they did just a few snaps and it is there way to try and get one last ditch effort to play some action in a game at a different school. Can't expect there to be a Miller and Martin in the portal that are willing to walkon.

There's a lot of talent from Tennessee in the portal.

  6. The other sunshine pumping thread is bogus, so let's get some actual Kool-Aid flowing.

To start our defense is almost intact as 9 out of 11 starters are back on a defense that has consistently improved. Our biggest need is a consistent pass rush and there are glimmers of hope as both Nelson and Payne had their moments. There is also a chance that Tannor or Cooper could breakout although I think this is less likely. Also, Stille and Rogers could continue to develop and generate more pressure from the inside. With a better pass rush I would expect more turnovers with QB strip fumbles and hurried throws turning into interceptions. Even without a good pass rush the defense has improved and is likely to be better in 2021. Of course if the offense can improve than the defense will also look better.

On the offensive side of the ball we lost Robinson, but we have picked up some talent. The USC RB has a lot of potential, if he can stay healthy, and several of our RB's could be better than Mills. We had some injuries and a shortened season, but with a full spring and fall our RB's have the potential to make great strides. At WR we picked up the young man from Montana and Martin will have a full spring and fall as well. Nixon was injured and Manning, Betts, and Brown will have a full spring and fall to develop. We now have a stable of big WR's (Manning, Betts, Toure, & Martin) to go along with some faster WR's (Nixon & Brown). At TE Allen and Vokolek have looked good, especially Allen and with the Freshman Fidone coming in the TE position has quite a bit of fire power. As a Freshman Martinez looked good when he had some big down the field threats and now he will have them again in 2021. I think there is a good chance he will improve with the bigger WR's who can hopefully win some jump balls and make some plays down field. We lost two OL including our best Tackle, but his backup sure looked good in the one game he started. RT should improve with some seasoning as should Jurgens at Center who is maybe our most athletic lineman. Piper is back which just leaves one whole at guard with a number of candidates vying for the job.

ST has been bad although improved from 2019 as at least we could make a FG in 2020. There were some injuries that hurt us here as well. Frost seems focused on improving this area as can be seen by the number of kickers/punters we had on the team. Even being average here makes us a much better team. Finally, turnovers and penalties have killed us and need to be fixed. A full spring and fall practice should help but we are still young on offense, so maybe some wishful thinking.

How bad of a season would Frost be able to survive? I think he'd get another year if he went 3-9. But would he survive 2-10? 1-11? 0-12?

f#&% it. I'm rooting for 0-12 just to maximize the odds Frost is fired.

I'm rooting for us to go 14-0. Why the disdain for Frost? I hope he succeeds even if it has been a rough few years.

HOL did an article on the B1G's 2018 recruiting classes today.

Nebraska signed 25 players and has 13 of them left

Penn State signed 23 and has 16 left

Michigan State signed 22 and has 15

Iowa signed 23 and has 16

Minnesota signed 26 and has 14

Purdue signed 24 and has 17

Illinois signed 25 and has 15

Rutgers signed 22 and has 13

Other schools didn't lose as many.  But several of those schools didn't go through a coaching change and have lost nearly as many as we did in a transition class.

I'm not saying it's not an issue.  But it'd definitely not just a Nebraska thing.

There have been some players we lost that I wish we wouldn't have. However, most would not have had much playing time if they stayed. Hope that attrition slows down though, otherwise it becomes more concerning.

Grand Canyon College - keep some of these for profit student-athletes honest!

I would be down with that. I own a little bit of LOPE. They typically have a pretty decent basketball team. Used to be coached by Dan Majerle.

Those calling the big ten teams mediocre are hopefully watching the bowl games.  Pretty dominant so far.  Nebraska hasn't looked good but their competition was better than many thought.  Our offensive production against northwestern for instance looks a lot better right now.

I was just thinking the same thing today. The Big 10 was better than we thought.

  11. We lack two things a QB that can throw the ball accurately down field and a pass rusher. At the other positions we have talent it's just young. For some reason Martinez has the yip's in passes over 10 yards. If we could throw down field it would open up everything else and the offense would look much better. The defense looks way better, but we can't get to the QB. If we had a pass rusher or two the defense would look great. We've tried to bring some pass rushers in but they haven't worked out.

Here is Buckley's senior highlight reel. He's got a great motor, really nice football sense, and a powerful base. Of course, I don't think he's playing against the top level of Michigan football, but he's got 9 good minutes of film, which is tough to do at any level. If he's already 280, I have no doubts that he'll play on the interior line once his upper body starts to fill out.

That was what I was thinking too. That he would possibly move inside.
