  1. Losing a football game is one thing,  not being able to field a team to COMPETE with teams like minny ,  or any team really,  is another.   This team has all kinds of issues,   O-line being the obvious one.   Until we get bigger ,  stronger,  smarter horses up front on both sides of the ball, competing in the big ten will be rough.   Two more recruiting cycles and we'll see where we're at.  I'll wait. GBR.

From the practice report it sounds like both Martinez and Spielman will be ready to go. They’ll be able to perform their normal duties, but the question still remains.... with their nagging injuries, will they be able to dunk?

Will they be able to get up the necessary 10-11 feet?

I say the coach should hold them out until they’re able to do what’s expected of them.

Yep,  if Martinez is at say 80% go,  I would start Vedral,  perfect opportunity to see what he can do.

Hope Vedral is ready to go.

But, I'm not sure how he's gonna do given this might be the worst offensive game plan I have ever seen from a Scott Frost coached team. This is pathetic, and he should be absolutely embarrassed. Do these players suck so bad that Frost simply doesn't have the horses currently to run what he wants?

I honestly want to believe it's the horses.

The snaps have to improve if we're going to win the next four games. I'm pretty surprised that we're still seeing those.

If Martinez is standing back there pre-snap wondering if the ball is going to get to him fine or fly over his head its a major problem, IMO.  Jumping for the ball when he doesn't need to means he is anticipating it, that's not where his head needs to be before every play,   nervous.

I posted this in a different thread but I also think it needs to be posted here. This is how I view the offense:

The entire season we have been talking about the struggles at the O-line, but I think people aren't completely understanding how that affects the offense. For example, I don't think Martinez deserves most of the hate he gets. It is hard to make plays when you can't lean on your line. When you can't lean on them, you turn the great players on your offense into average players. I can see why it's hard to make good passes because he is constantly worried that he will be hit from behind or sacked. He's probably more focused on making sure he doesn't get sacked than actually passing the ball. Its because the trust between him and the O line isn't established yet because the O-line has shown so many issues. A prime example of this is with snapping the ball. There are times when Martinez jumps to catch the snap, even when the snap is in the perfect spot. Part of that is probably because he is anticipating a high snap because thats what we have seen all season. It causes the entire offense to be out of rhythm. Until the O-line can step up its going to be an issue trying to establish any type of offense. Especially if you aren't able to run between the tackles, this limits your play-calling and plays are much easier to be anticipated from the defense. Unfortunately in order to fix the O-line thats a process that may take 1-2 years as players mature in their positions.

I can't figure out why the high snaps are STILL an issue.   Its been a problem since the spring game,  why is it taking so long to fix it ?

Agreed.  Real easy to +1 the obvious after it happens.  Brilliant  ... and oh so helpful.  We will look forward to your expertise before NW, Wisky and Iowa.

    I'm clueless.  Ha ha.

Bu the way, what was your prediction before the year started?

Why are you getting all twisted up about it ? ,   I agreed with the content of the post, gave it a +1,    who cares if a "newbie" posted it.  Was I trying to be brilliant and helpful ?  Nope,  just a +1 on a post. Do I think your clueless ? Nope, something else.   BTW my prediction was 9-3.

    Nope, not really.

Where was this post before the game.  Nothing but newbies coming on the board telling members who have been here for 10 plus years what we already knew and predicted.

Welcome to the board guys.  Keep supporting our coach, coaches and team.   We have a ways to go.

I could care less about how long a person has been on this board,   if I agree with what they said in a post,   I'll +1 it.

This post has +9.  No offense to this new poster.

I'd be curious who these folks are who + the post.  I ask because the folks who said we are a long ways off ... would go 6-6 or 7-5 get looked down upon.  Most laughed when one said we'd lose by 35 points.

So,  here we are after a foreseen beating  ... with a new set of board members looking like experts.  It's one of the disappointments after a foreseen beating.

I'll look forward to these analysis BEFORE the next beating so we can all praise these new board members.

    It's +10 now. Good post
