Before games, not enough! Ha
After games it would depend. I can remember coming back from games that were like 25-30 minutes away and one coach would load up a 6 pack of tallboys, just for me and him, we would drive together. So on the way back to school after the game he would "force" (okay, it did not take much forcing) me to drink 3 and he would drink 3 in that 30 minute time span.
Then we would stop at a bar once we unloaded equipment.

Hahaha!
Times when I was not coaching I would hit up a varsity game with a friend or two, it was always an easy way to grab a beer or 5 before the game, then like 16 more beers after the game.
Haha. How many beers did you grab when you were coaching?

Haha! Hell yeah!
It is a free pass for a lot of guys!
It sounds sooooo different
"Sweetie, me and Gregg are gonna hit up the local HS game"
or
"Sweetie, me and Gregg are gonna go get loaded at the Spigot"
Exactly. I for one though pay really close attention to their wiv....I mean the game.

Man, that seems high but you could be right. There is always that large group of dudes trying to escape being home and saying "bar" is triggering so that have to say "HS FB game".
You are actually right with this assumption.I go to a few high school games. Was at the Catholic vs Battle creek 2 weeks ago. Most of the guys hit the parking lot at halftime. Just a place for them to go drink and socialize. A lot of them are not even paying attention to the game.

And just west of that you may find Ogallala and if you drive fast enough from Kearney to Ogallala you can time travel
Before Ogallala you have to stop at Ole's Big Game Bar in Paxton.

Kearney is just west of Gibbon which is just west of Shelton which is just west of Wood River..hometown of Scott Frost. Hope this helps.

Was at that game. B.C should have fed Uhlir the ball more in the 4th quarter IMO. 2 good teams. Catholic is always tough. Hopefully they meet again in the playoffs Keep an eye on the lineman from B.C. Heiderman. Only a sophomore. Word is Rhule is watching already. His uncle Jordan fights MMA. Also played D-1 at Indiana.

Ya losing sucks.

That’s what I was thinking too but I couldn’t discern the uni number. Man I miss the days when we had beast ends and OLBs.

Favorite part of that is how our right end goes in and blows the QB the eff up
I'm pretty sure that is Trev Alberts.

anybody care to fathom how many head coaches and assistant coaches have been through Lincoln in the last 20 years? Stability and good choices in coaching have not exactly been the norm in Lincoln.
972?

Did he play for Pierce? I think a team I coached played against him. Maybe he was already gone, I don't remember now. I just remember those Pierce teams were good.
Yes, he played HS ball for Pierce. He was also a stud in Basketball. At least in his Junior high days.

I'll be serious too..I had Matt Herian on my flag team when he was in 5th grade. It was obvious then he was special and i told everyone to remember this kids name cuz we will be reading about him in the papers. I was right on that one. Being the great coach I was, I don't think I gave him the ball nearly enough.

Yes, no Runza's here either. When we go to Estes Park we stop in Loveland to get one or on my way back to SD to visit family - Council Bluffs.
We have a dairy/burger chain in Oklahoma, Braums, that only has stores within 250 miles of their huge dairy farm (over 10k milk cows) by OKC - to insure freshness. Great ice cream and burgers but just regional. Our son, on his way from NC always stops at the first one he can find. So some chains limit themselves to preserve quality. I wonder if that is the same with Runza.
Did they have:
no but they had these
