So the consensus is, for the 2022 season, Huskerboard wants a quarterback that never loses, never fails, doesn’t make any of the same mistakes as our last 12 quarterbacks, injury proof, doesn’t need an offensive line to produce, WRs can be crap because this guy will throw them open. Is that about right?

Wouldn’t hurt if he could run a 4.3 too. Don’t forget Tom Brady work ethic and intelligence.

also def not a nice guy

Great post. They have to actually follow to post-workout eating plan and the general, every day eating plan, etc. And on Corcoran, I hate seeing some posters dog on him because really you shouldn't ever be starting on the O line at Nebraska as a redshirt freshman. It's just too early and too much pressure - and he had the injury!

Good post here. I was curious how sure you were on the bold scholarship count for O linemen? If accurate, I'm thinking that's a pretty low count.

And no offense to the guy, but I personally probably wouldn't even count Hixson in that head count because he started as a walk-on.

I agree on Corcoran. He is a freshman so we shouldnt be bagging on him for not being as strong as our big ten competition who is playing juniors and seniors. Benhart no excuses. That is just lack of talent.

Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, & 1989 Joe Montana could be in the portal and there would be people saying they’re no better than what we have

Your probably right. Something people should all keep in mind is Joe Burrow was not a known commodity either. He was a backup at Ohio State. I dont think anyone in the country saw coming what happened in 2019.

It's 2022: The transfer portal means you can't assume that ANY position's room is crowded.

Plus I dont think any runningback on the roster has proven anything to say the room is crowded. Sure they all have a pulse. Sure maybe it was all the OL fault. But regardless of what the reason is we do not have a proven runningback on the roster.

Example: Do we have a RB on our team any of our opponents are concerned with? No.

I think you're being serious. If so, good call.

Nebraska's national profile my have dropped, but an unappreciated portal transfer can become a hero to an entire state at UNL.

Gotta be some coin in that.

Totally serious. I saw what Texas is doing with their OL. So NIL makes everything so gray it appears players can be paid to attend a school now. Just set things up properly and you are good.

We could first look at how many reps our special teams unit and punters have in practice relative to other B1G teams with successful special teams. I mean, couldn't, but I'd assume a quality special teams coach could and would figure that out.

But the most obvious answer is that you prioritize looking for a punter out of the transfer portal, if a guy is at all available. That one is so obvious that it's almost physically painful.

Then for the "couple odd bounces that the punt returner made a bad decision on" part, again my completely uneducated guess is that we might not be putting in enough reps on special teams plays.

Throwing up one's hands and just saying "not even sure how to improve some of these things" kind of seems like roughly what Frost has been doing - and it is clear that isn't cutting it, right?

I noticed the #1 receiver for Alabama plays on special teams. They put their best players in positions to make plays on EVERY play.

Idk what year you think it is but those guys aren't coming here. Doubtful boosters will want to pay a $120 million contract because that's the new norm. Reports are out that Jimbo turned down $130 million from LSU

Ok fine Urban Meyer then. Possibly Bill Belichek
