  1. It seems like he is really trying to be a “quarterback” first, looking to throw all the time and not running the ball. Idk why because Frost claims he wants his qbs to “run like an I-back”. But I also think Frosts play calling has regressed as we’re not as fast between plays as we were last year. Martinez seems to play a lot better when we go fast and he doesn’t have to think

A few good ones? He told a reporter he shouldn't be allowed on the press call this week.  And the guy said thanks after he got roasted.  It's hilarious

That’s awesome! Sounds like I need to start following Gundy a little more closely

Nice one! While Grundy has had a few good ones, and sports a mullet, Mike Leach is a gem in every interview he does. He’s my favorite head coach other than Frost of course. The mad hatter is another good one

I was referring to the timing of the announcement. Waiting to announce while a team is in a successful season. If things don’t go as expected it may have been smarter to announce right before the season when the hype train was rolling down the tracks

I gotcha now, and your totally right, the only upside to announcing it at the end if we have a craptastic season would be to help distract from the season itself

  5. Maybe the voters know we played like a complete dumpster fire on offense and our defense carried us and thought, “hey they’re better on defense this year and that offensive performance was an anomaly so they’re probably pretty good “

This is a done deal. Within the last couple weeks officials and donors have visited Clemson and Bama to see their respective projects.

Hope is that this season is a success and they can announce it with some on field momentum and excitement to lessen any criticism. Let’s hope that gamble pays off.

I say it’s more of an investment than gamble. If we don’t invest and keep up with the Jones then we’ll get left way behind

  7. I’ve been thinking and assumed a couple of things

    1. Our offense will get better, we were one of many teams who looked pretty dang rough yesterday

    2. Our defense is definitely improving

    3. Our team as a whole is improving on learning how to win. Last year we would have found a way to lose that game.

    4. I think we were too hopeful that we’d seen a huge improvement like what UCF had, but it’s alot harder at at a big ten school facing the competition will we see them a school in the American Conference and we’re probably not there quite yet

    5. Calm down, don’t overreact, and trust the process. Alabama and Clemson weren’t built in a season and neither will we be, but it’s definitely coming

The problems were there from the first snap. A couple of big plays made the difference in that first drive.

Very late in the game it seemed we just packed it in, but for the most part it was pretty steady in this regard.

no Doubt we had troubles from the start, but we were at least aggressive enough to overcome the early mistakes to get a td. I felt like frosts play calling was questionable. We hit Stoll for two nice plays the first drive then barely go back in his direction. We didn’t make it a point to get it in jd or wandales hands near enough even though they obviously were the most dynamic players in the field. Instead we try to run between the tackles almost every play. Then after Martinez three the pick he seemed afraid to pass again. Just seemed a-typical of Frost to me

  9. Am I the only one who thought our offense as a whole looked aggressive on the first drive and then they looked timid from there on out. Frosts play calling got extremely conservative and so did our play. Not to mention I think we ran more “power” plays today today then all of last year. It’s almost like he kept it super vanilla as not to show anything for next week. The few times he called things other than power or zone it seemed to work ok. USA’s defense didn’t have to think as there was almost no counters, nothing to make them think the ball was going one way just to see it go the other. I think Frost was keeping things close to the vest which made our offense look like trash

Yes. I think so far Frost's track record has been that kids he recruits end up climbing in the rankings by the time the class closes out.

VS  the Riley and Pelini era. It seemed like our kids dropped in the rankings as the year went on.

Frost and his team can spot talent. Regardless of how the rankings view them at the time.

And we thought the recruiting rankings hated us and dropped the athletes rankings because we offered or they committed...... fun times

We really need the season to start and show the world we have a well coached team that can win games.

I'm not one that gets all excited about certain recruits but, usually there will be a few that at least peak my interest enough that I pay attention to more.  Right now there just doesn't seem to be those 5-6 recruits we are hard after that are garnering a huge amount of attention from other major programs.

Hopefully once the season starts, the interest from those types of players will gain momentum.

This doesnt really surprise me. Coach Frost and staff were pretty upfront when they said they dont care about stars or recruiting service ratings. They are going for players they feel fit their scheme, have high character, and will be good teammates. I am adopting the philosophy of sit back and enjoy the ride

It's not OU.  They have 1 spot left for offense and it is going for the OL.  Both the backs they have committed are visiting there this weekend and are recruiting for them.

There might be a new player involved that we haven't heard about yet.  My guess is it's a big school and that is why he is postponing his announcement

    Texas?

He is taking more of a Tressel approach and recruiting Ohio much more than Meyer did, at least in his first year. I like what he is doing as well.

I can definitely see Day having the kind of success that Tressel had, and if that's the case then OSU fans should be happy. Meyer is one of the elites and IDK if Day will be able to sustain that high of a level. However with the resources OSU has, I dont see them ever being out of the conversation for the top spot in the BIG, or not finishing the season highly ranked year in and year out

  14. I'm sure it will be something that the players think is cool, but I doubt Coach Frost will let it be too gimmicky,. When he was at UCF they had no tradition so he was trying to find different things to attract kids, where as we have lots of tradition so while it might be different from what we're used to, I doubt it will be too far from traditional NU
