Wonder if we've stayed in contact here. With Missouri firing their HC, it would be nice to flip him. It would be a heck of a sales job though.

He committed to a mediocre team that was trending down so why not a mediocre team trending up!

I agree about staying in contact. Would love to snag him

    We would take both

Sure, we can use all the talent at skill positions especially WR with height. All I’m saying is the focus has to be Manning since he isn’t committed anywhere and seems as good as any WR out there. Plus it doesn’t seem like Hutchinson’s commitment is wavering despite the visits everywhere

  3. Nebraska is winning this one! We built some confidence going into rivalry week, the seniors seem fired up to keep the momentum going and our defense is playing much much better the past few weeks. If we win or tie the turnover battle we take this one. Just need ole T-Mar... I mean A-Mart to be decisive, and make decent to good decisions because Iowa wont tip the ball twice and let someone catch a pass for a TD...

Also, anyone remember that one awesome drive vs Ohio St where we ran the I-form option? Well I bet that comes back this week. At the very least we open the entire playbook up and show Iowa stuff they've never seen. Fingers crossed Frost doesn't out coach himself though

    Bold prediction: Nebraska 24 - Iowa 16

  4. I was at the Arizona Utah game this weekend and there is NO shot this guy goes to Arizona. Crowd was terrible, team looked worse. D-coordinator, LB coach and D-line coach have all been fired as well. I don't know what Arizona could possibly sell Hodge on that NU isn't leaps and bounds better than them in.

Lock this kid in as a Husker

Schaefer said today on 1620 that grades might be an issue

Did he say grades are an issue for him to qualify or for him to be an early enrolled? I had the understanding he was going to try and EE but could be wrong on that

I get kids taking visits while committed elsewhere but I can't really recall a "top schools" list while still committed someplace.. Usually they de-commit first THEN drop a top list...

Willing to bet that its FSU, Nebraska and Louisville... Maybe add in Florida and Penn St if he stretches to 5 teams.

You did say he wasn't coming here so congrats on taking the field... but only these guy got it right with VT

I am bummed we didn't get this kid, looks like a good one. Normally we have our QB commit for the class already so we better step it up!

  8. I mean 5-0 is 5-0 but when you really look at it... Minnesota didn’t win a game by more than 7 points until they beat Illinois last week. And they beat Illinois, Purdue and GA State when those teams had to play with back up QB’s and we may have a backup this week as well.

We have definitely struggled on the road but if we win or tie the turnover battle I think we can win this one but at the very least we’re covering 7.5

The AD just told the OWH that we have to wait four years. Four years!

Do you know how long that is?

And that's in addition to all the time since Steve from NP wrecked the program.

    I'm old. Very old.

Obviously you’re not old enough since you know how to navigate around the internet. You’ve also managed to create an account and your own post! We’re so proud of you!

And yeah 4 years means we would have to wait... for 4 entire years!

The hype of year 2 under Frost at NU being comparable to Frost year 2 at UCF is laughable. He has definitely made progress but there are glaring holes. Things are trending in the right direction overall though. Day by day we get better and better til we can’t be beat, WON’T be beat!

  10. I’m definitely more concerned about OLB than D-line. As someone mentioned earlier, OLB talent/ athleticism is harder to find and is highly sought after.

Frost has taken 3 grad transfer or JUCO D-lineman in the last 2 classes (if I’m not mistaken) and I think that is something we will continue to do. I would love to get another D-lineman or 2 in this class but if we don’t I won’t be as concerned.

I am very concerned about our OLB talent and depth. That’s something to keep an eye on.

It'd be interesting to see if Frost would be able to say if he made a mistake about Jurgens at center if it comes down to it.

True but I don't think it would be him saying he made a mistake to move him from C to G.. If he moves Jurgens to D or back to TE that would be crazy but with his snap issues all he would have to worry about is being a mauler.

If Georgia did $174 why didnt we just do $175?

That was the largest I could find, so ya I think we're pushing near the top. Clemson's $55 mil was part of $222.4 mil "athletic facility upgrades" so that includes more than just football. Looks like Georgia's number included some stadium stuff too, so the $150 for NU may not be just football.

Construction costs in the 3rd world cornfields of Nebraska are much cheaper so $150 mil is equivalent of $275 mil! We are literally building the facility of dreams!

Gray ran a 4.85 at the Army National Combine this January. I wouldn't read too much into that number however as it's mostly the result of his terrible 10 yard time (1.81). Almost everybody has a poor showing at this combine because it's one of the few that actually provide an accurate time. At The Opening, he ran a 4.66 because he's not a super fast guy but he's far from slow.

This is what I saw too. Also, I'd imagine a college strength program could boost his speed some. Also, Fisher likes guys that can cross train as Safety/CBs which he seems to fit.

As far as being a head case, I saw that his family liked NU because it got him out of Florida. Guessing there might be some people he needs to get away from there and NU offers that.

The 10 yard time is actually one of the easiest things you can improve in the 40. Improving explosion, technique, etc. Strength and conditioning will also help a ton. The thing you can't teach is top end speed. Not worried at all about this kid.
