I really hope Kaelin stays. Given time I think he has the potential to develop into something, but as a prospect, he's not even in the same Zip Code as Raiola. Very few are. Everyone would take DR over DK.

But in a few years from now, that may not mean much. QBs are weird like that. You could have a guy that's all world talent beaten out by a guy that looks like he should be sitting in the stands.

I get him putting feelers out but I really hope he stays as well...  with McCord being a 1 year QB and possible elite QB coaching incoming why not stay and compete in year 2 with Dylan...

Im just throwing crap against the wall after reading people question why he would entertain a visit to a dumpster fire program. Not asking this snarky, but do you think UGA would cut him loose for visiting his dad’s alma mater?

as a family visit, no...  He has visited a few times since his commit I believe...  but there were conversations with this much smoke...

I think what likely happened is there is uncertainty if Raiola would be playing next year at Georgia.  If all is equal and he has more of a connection/feels like home here, it becomes a much easier choice to play for nebraska.  I'm sure rhule has been upfront saying McCord would be slotted in #1 on depth chart but not a for sure thing and Dylan would have a chance to win the job.

As far as money is concerned, something tells me Georgia has no problem matching/out do what we can offer.  Its not like Dylan is potentially leaving a Big12/Pac12 school.

Perhaps the easiest answer is the Raiola family has lived in georgia for a bit now and maybe they've found out the lifestyle/scene just isnt for him.

Dylan was never planning on playing 1st year at Georgia in front of Carson Beck and he will do the same here under McCord..

Personally, I’m very slow rolling all this news.
the only player we could MAYBE get went 11-1 last year. The guy we think is savior that we MAYBE could get has never taken a college snap.
I’m on a a wait and see approach with both players: whether either comes here and what they could do once here.

it’s fun, but I’m not counting chickens and whatnot

    BULLSHYT....  DRINK IT..!!!!

I'll give you that!  My post was mainly directed at a certain poster who states we need to get this and that player in the portal instead of looking at reality.  85!

seems a bit personal...  are we restricting what can be asked and by whom on this site now..??  and if so, who do we need to run the questions by..??

So you need a QB coach to tell him to not fumble? Hold onto the ball? That is basic football 101.

agreed that those issues are 101...  BUT, there are a lot of mental things taking place before that snap and if you don't have all of that unpacked it will affect the 101 stuff.

I'm not a good golfer but I know how to hit the ball..  If I'm thinking about my grip, my foot placement and my back swing before hand, I'm usually lying 2 behind a pine tree 40yrds out.

I'm not saying Simms is our guy (he probably isn't) but a QB coach would probably help read the defense a bit better and make the 101 things easier...  just a thought.
