So Frost takes over a team with really no talent and after 14 games he's a problem? Those who thought we were just going to move into year 2 and win every week are the problem.  I never heard players say the let down Riley after a loss. Frost is trying to teach this team how to win. That requires going all out in practice and on game day. The reason the second half went to hell wasn't the play calls. It was effort. The players have to learn to play 60 minutes, not the coaches.

Not to rain on your rant but we just got beat by a FIRST YEAR program... Are you saying Mel Tucker is a better coach then Scott Frost..??

    1. When you can't run between the tackles effectively AT ALL, it makes it hard to be efficient on offense, no matter how good your skill players and QB are.

    2. Defense got burned some in the 2nd half, but i blame the offense. 2nd week in a row the D gets left out there and gets worn down

    3. I miss Devine Ozigbo

not sure devine could even run with this O-Line

I'm not the one who drew issue with someone criticizing my opinion. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

well...your doing it right now... I did not criticize your opinion on anything... I posted a pic and you criticized the pic.... seems you are the guilty one here...

And of course you posting a single pic of two guy standing around with guts was actually supposed to convey that your main complaint was their physical strength while playing during the season.

    Can't believe I missed that.

    yet you did.....   odd

You remember that Gates had an ankle injury during the last part of the 2016 season, right?  But we didn't have anyone behind him that was better, injury and all.  So he played injured.

And that clip shows All American DE Derek Barnett going up against redshirt sophomore Nick Gates.  Barnett went 14th overall in the first round of the NFL draft a couple months later.  What exactly would you expect out of that situation?  Or are you just parroting the point of that douchenozzle Cole Cubelic in his Tweet with Barnett v. Gates?

Id bet we could find clips like that in almost every game gates played..

Chris weber and drew brown will surely be missed..

How could they possibly not have Nick Gates on that list?  Am I missing something?

    I'd say:

    Joshua Kalu

    Nick Gates

    Chris Weber

    Chris Jones

    Drew Brown

Nothing against Tanner Lee.  I just don't think we'll miss leading the nation in pick sixes.

Nick gates...???   the weakest (laziest) link in the o-line..??   I guess we will see where he actually ranks come draft time....  my guess... free agent low...

This is nothing more than conjecture. You're trying to correlate the look of one player to another and then draw shaky conclusions between the two. People are built differently even when they're the exact same height.

If you want to criticize a linemen's strength and fitness, find his measurable stats and have it. This thread is full of some pretty asinine hot takes right now.

    yea.... opinions.... there weird.....

I guess you'll have to explain to me what I'm wrong about.  People have long been complaining about the lack of toned abs of our linemen.  That's nothing more than wanting to complain about something.

Maybe it has something to do with the actual lack of physical strength exhibited through the season...??  PS... not seeing anyone really "complaining" about or asking for "toned" abs...   but hey... this is just my opinion and is in no way a personal attack...

I think when we are talking about HS and Middle School there is no problem with having coaches on the field for their freezer pop scrimmages.

I’d much rather see the coaches on the sidelines making adjustments throughout the game with players just like they would in an actual game.

If fitty is so worried about the coaches not coaching anyone because they aren’t  reffing then let’s just give both team unlimited timeouts to attempt to make quick fixes after big mistakes.

As for the teams, I want to see them evenly divided. Compete baby.

LOL....  wow...  I said I wanted 1v1.  but when it comes to it, its practice... sad that you cant drop the fact that I flamed you in your last thread and have to carry it like a torch from thread to thread...  Maybe a girlfriend..? or knitting..??  just saying...  this thing seems to hang sadly on you...

I didn't take a position on spring practice format. I simply took your statement and disqualified it because you lack D1 coaching experience. Much like you are attempting to discount others because they haven't coached at whatever level you have.

Do you have D1 coaching practice experience? Did you suit up as a ref/coach hybrid in front of 80k as you proposed?  No, you didn't. Does that mean your input on this matter is completely invalid? No, it doesn't.

I don't have to mechanical engineering degree to decide between purchasing a car with a piston engine vs. rotary engine.

And i just made a suggestion about how I thought it would be fun to see...  do you believe that 1's vs 2's is a good barometer..?  I dont, but it has been done regularly...  YOU are the ones criticizing...  is it that boring in your world that you have to make an argument on a football board... and then twist it..??

"I don't have to mechanical engineering degree to decide between purchasing a car with a piston engine vs. rotary engine."

nonsensical arguments....   LOL... I remember elementary...  will you finish with "i know you are, but what am i..?"    common sense eludes many these days..

I love the old, "you never played" card, hahahaha

I know huh.... it would be weird for me, who doesn't have an engineering degree, to be telling an engineer how his job works.....

Why does everything have to be binary with some people?

It usually is a practice  "scrimmage".  Most coaches want to create a game"like" experience for the players to see how they do when a coach ISN'T holding their hands.  This isn't 1st grade flag football.

ah... so we should have full clock, and full contact on QB as well.... I mean.... its not flag football...right...??  and lets never have a boy in as running back.....  that wouldn't be "game like"...right..??

So you want them to ref, and coach their position groups during a practice that 80,000 fans are going to be at? Don’t you think that might cause some issues with flow of the practice from a time perspective?

Do you truly believe mistakes will me made during the spring game and coaches won’t talk to them about their mistakes on the sideleine after the play?

So first ill take it that since you didn't deny playing, that you in fact never played... and second, this is a practice scrimmage game...  not unheard of to NOT have official refs...  and third is it just me or are you salty with everyone.....???   don't post angry bro...

That is true but from a coaching standpoint using "live bullets" so to speak is usually the best way to see how things are going.

Agreed on the "live bullets" that's why I like 1's vs 1's as opposed to a school yard or mixed teams...

  16. 8 hours ago, ScottyIce said:

Uh, yeah, let’s have the coaches ref instead of coach on the sideline like a real game...

uh.... it's NOT a real game.... it PRACTICE....   guess you never played ball before... but in PRACTICE the position coaches are on the field... COACHING....
