  1. Mike Riley stays....  why..?  Because admin and boosters want Scott Frost and Scott Frost is staying put for right now.  Why chase a coach now only to watch the prodigal child slip through our hands in 2-3 years when he does decide to move up.  Riley stays... Langsdorf, Cavanaugh and Donte Williams gone....  JMHO!

The players and coaches are doing their best. Riley and his assistants didn’t come here to fail.

Yes, there have been mistakes. We may have different opinions on judgment calls. But there is no need for personal insults and nastiness.

The players are young adults. They, in particular, deserve our support.

I also don’t believe in schadenfreude.

Nebraska is the home of the greatest fans in college football so let’s act that way.

It's not the players fault that they are not being coached up and motivated...  Cavanaugh and langsdorf on the other hand can kick rocks......  SEE YA' !!!

If you think that Frost would agree to waiting until the end of his contract without an extension, you are crazy.

Contract extensions are about showing you are committed to a coach for the long haul.  You just made my point.

LOL...  change the bar a bit..??  you obviously just want to argue...have a good day...

We can and we will.  You have to understand that "playing the game" like the big boys is a lot like high-stakes gambling.  You have to spend the money to have a chance to win, and you can't be cheap or risk-averse.

Very few CFB hires are "slam dunks".  There is always an element of risk and the possibility of failure.  Crying about coach extensions and payouts isn't going to get Nebraska where it wants to be.

First, no one over here is "crying"  Second, you obviously are not "gambler" a gambler will not continue to make the same bet and expect a different outcome..  The element of risk you speak of is the university paying for an up and coming coach and committing to it for the long haul..

Doesnt work that way.  If Frost approaches year 4 of a 5-year contract with no extension we get killed in negative recruiting.

well we can't keep offering 5 yr contracts with extensions and firing after 3...  i'll take the gamble that frost will be here long term and willing to give him 5 yrs to bring it around..  if after 4 yrs its not working, that 5th year class wont matter anyways..

  6. offer Frost 5m plus huge achievement bonuses on a 5 year contract.... and let the world know that Frost will be our coach for 5 yrs... rain or shine... period...  no talk of firing or extension until that 5th year eval

It's like Diaco gets scared when an opponent has weapons. We attacked the hell out of Illinois and did similar to Rutgers. I saw a little press Saturday night but you could tell Diaco didn't trust the secondary enough to blitz or play aggressive at all.

But even when Diaco was NOT blitzing or applying pressure the extra help for the secondary was not effective at all..... so why not blitz and shake it up..??

  8. I think cav is the weak link in this formula.  We have talent on the O-line squad but it amazes me sometime when I see guys that don't hold their blocks or are out of position for their assignment. almost looks like practice sometimes.  I think the D-line has came a long way in this new system.  I think they got winded in the 4th against a relentless wisconsin run attack.  Adam C said it best in his gut reaction...  "it was like getting beat by your evil twin"  the way Nebraska used to tear down opponents with long run drives.

  9. 1) Fire Cavanough...!   pay up for a real o-line coach...  We haven't had a decent offensive line in years

    2) O-line will not be fixed over night and tanner cant or will not move from the pocket....    POB....

    3) This...

" "Step 1: Order Diaco to incorporate some press zone coverage and some kind of nickel package. Have the DBs press at the LOS before backing into their assigned zones. This should hopefully disrupt the QBs rythm by delaying the recievers for a half second, and shifting that into a zone coverage will hopefully lead to some confusing reads. Use this scheme as a foundation for blitzes. That is, rush 4 on every play, from random directions, and rush more on occasion (maybe even bring the house every once in a while!). OLB, MLB, S, CB, doesn't matter. Add the LBs showing pressure close to the LOS and some twists by the DL to disrupt the OLs blocking assignments and throw off their pre-snap reads can hopefully get someone to the QB unblocked. Include some rolling coverage to, again, disrupt presnap reads and cover areas left vacant by a DB blitzing from the edge " "

  10. Nebraskans love smash mouth football.... it's what we do... or at least should be doing.   And for that we need a well taught offensive line... which we dont.  without an o-line, you can have the best west coast QB and he will look horrible, without an o-line the best running back will fail..  I thought the line would improve after cotton but cavanough has proven a bigger disappointment..  spend some money nebraska and get a REAL O-Line coach.

  11. I'm still not sold on Tanner Lee but with that cast of clowns that we call an O-Line, I don't think we have seen his true potential.   If Riley is a smart man he would fire Cavanough tomorrow..
