His own people protesting in the streets, Russian soldiers dying, China distancing themselves, every country that considered joining NATO are now champing at the bit to get in, Russian oligarchs hemorrhaging money....would really like to know how Putin thinks this is gonna play out.

Liked your message but I'm not sure I would call the decisions stupid in the current landscape.  We had to pay to get what appeared on paper to be the best options.  The extensions on the other hand were questionable.  Moos knew he was leaving?  I do like what Trev is doing- smart and also gives him another year or two of complete job security.  I'm also happy that Fred and Scott were willing to sacrifice.

Yeah meant more so the extensions. Both guys were getting compensated well, both obviously wanted to be here, both were struggling on the field/court when the extensions were handed out - seemed like we put ourselves in a poor spot for no reason. At least we're in a better spot now and in a place where performance is the only thing that matters moving forward.

You know if we set aside how likely we think they are to succeed by sheer numbers alone so far this has been a fairly embarrassing showing for the Russian armed forces so far.

I can’t imagine Russians are too fired up to be shooting their neighbors just because their president has small d!(k syndrome - I could be wrong. I’m sure Ukrainians are much more fired up to kill people attacking their home.

  4. A comment I’ve been seeing is Putin wanting to take more than Ukraine. From what I’ve read today, It seems like he’s way over estimating the Russian people and the Russian army’s appetite for that.

Those of us that wish to see him deposed had better hope the sanctions find a way to hurt the elites who keep him in power.

Until their bank accounts start to feel the heat, the lot of them couldn't care less how much the Russian commoner suffers.

Yep, Russia has to cannibalize him.

    God help Ukraine.

The terrible thing is even if we bring the most stringent sanctions possible against Russia (which seems like the only direct intervention we're going to take, we're not sending forces over there and it's pretty clear others won't, either), Putin and the oligarchs won't be the ones who really feel them. It will crush Russian citizens, many of whom probably despise Putin more than we do.

That's the problem with an incredibly corrupt government like them. They sacrifice their citizens to save themselves.

I still can't believe the party of Reagan has largely bent to kiss this guy's butt. How pathetic.

You can dislike Trump. You can dislike Biden. But if you’re a red blooded American, you should sure as s#!t hate Putin. May this be the end of him.

Here is the most-watched cable news personality openly shilling for Putin.

Why do you think he's doing this, conservative HuskerBoard members?   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Inserts Hitler for Putin. I guess we shouldn't hate Hitler guys! We are only allowed to hate people that personally call us a racist and eat dogs. That list is very long.

    I don't buy that.

But I did hear someone make an interesting point a couple days ago.  He was kind of on the leading edge of the "spread the floor and shoot threes" revolution.  So it might be that his success at Iowa State was largely based on being one of the first to adopt a new style.  Now that most everyone is doing it, it doesn't stand out and everyone else has passed him by.

It kind of makes a lot of sense.

You might be right, he's a competitor. Might take every cent of that buyout to get him out of here. Fred is on an island though. He has very little support from the fans, the former players, the state as a whole (pretty much the opposite of Frost). The only reason he's still here is a massive buyout. Either way it seems to be a sure thing he is gone. Morning radio was filled with 'who is gonna be the next coach at Nebraska' it's done.

Thanks for the heads up; sounds like listening to it on the radio might be the way to go.

Also, getting 2 this weekend would be fantastic.

I used Flo for husker hoops and it was god awful. Might be better now I guess. I freaking hate where the streaming world is now days. I have an ESPN and BTN subscription through my TV provider. I pay like $20 extra a month for ESPN+ (B12 rights) and BTN+ (B1G rights) you would think I would be able to watch a damn baseball game between the two conferences without shelling out even more money.

So, what is different now compared to between 2016 and 2020?

Putin has Europe by the balls energy wise. He figures he can waltz in to Ukraine and if Europe doesn't want to pay out the a$$ for energy, they'll let him do it with minimal backlash. Don't think it's a Trump/Biden thing, it's a leverage thing.

So, Ukraine is a sovereign country that Russia had great influence over.  The people decided they didn't like it and started wanting to be closer to Europe and the west.  Putin doesn't like it and his answer is to force them to like him.

Even if Putin invaded and won the war, this is still disastrous for them because they would be ruling over a foreign country that doesn't want to be under Russia influence.

I'm not well read on this, but that was my first thought. Seems very expensive in terms of money lost and lives lost. Have fun pouring money into Ukraine for the next few decades? I guess he might stop at disputed portions in East Ukraine?

  12. I think Perry, Shay and McCarville are good enough to get us to a regional. They just need to figure it out. Cade did too after his first start last year. It’ll come around, if it doesn’t we can all have a b!^@h session - but let’s wait a month and see where we’re at.
