Health related negotiated buyout??
Felt like Shatel mentioned the NBA a lot in his article yesterday. Fred also left home for the NBA not long ago. Wouldn't be surprised if he is sick of this and took a Front Office job or Asst Coach job in the league, and we are spared a buyout.

How long does Trev stick with Hoiberg? I know the buyout would be large. Even I had sort of forgotten about how his time with the Bulls but at least they were able to at least win some games. This is a complete joke.
I think we pray an NBA front office wants Fred in some type of capacity - because we’re not paying 18.5 mil to buy out a basketball coach.

I like Mathews at short. Pretty good in the field.
I see him and Anderson having a strong year. Chick too.
One of the publications (maybe D1baseball?) had Matthews as the 2nd best draft prospect in the B1G for the 2023 Draft. Max right behind him at #3.

Article is behind a paywall, so I was unable to read it. But according to the NYT we would be middle of the pack for vaccination rate in Europe, so how exactly are they better off than us?

Friday/Saturday = Shay and Perry. A couple guys battling for the Sunday/Midweek spots per Bolt on 590. Speculation are guys like McCarville, Frank, Jelkin would be in that mix. I'd lean McCarville for Sunday right now just based on experience.

Obviously Packers coaches don't care about special teams.
They don't. It was pitiful. They fired their ST Coordinator last year and hired his asst. And should have fired that guy weeks ago because it was painfully obvious ST was gonna cost us an important game.

Yeah this isn’t something that just slips through the cracks. Is the AD still employed? Isn’t that like their only real responsibility, making sure the players are eligible to participate?
Seems like it would have been pretty straight forward. Also if there was confusion, seems like they could have had some dialogue with the NSAA before the season started?
-
Sounds like the parents/AD didn't file the paperwork? The kid's situation isn't uncommon, just parents and admins dropped the ball. Seems super minor, but rules are rules. Feel bad for the kids.

Most producers/retailers don't want to have an unlimited amount of SKU's and keep inventory for a large variety of shirt styles. I agree that it sucks that the coaches and teams can get cool gear made for them as one off designs, and it's not available for the public, but it would be impossible for Adidas and other gear makers to have mass production and keep the inventory for all of these different designs.
I really wish they would at least incorporate the concepts, like other sports Herbie, or the Nebraska Script. They have numerous crappy designs available haha.

Will be at the Husker games at UT-Arlington
You really can't beat $6 bucks for a ticket, $3 bucks for hot dog, popcorn, nachos, peanuts. They selling beer and wine this year, but I will pass and have a coke instead. I seen them play Dallas-Baptist, Baylor, OU, TCU, Minnesota and several conference games.
I think if it will be near capacity of 1500 when UTA plays Huskers, Michigan, TCU, Army this year. Will be a blast, I am so Stoked!
Looks like a nice spot to catch a ballgame!

It's pretty stupid. I get making things for the coaches so they have some unique swag. It's a perk.
But after a month or six months, that stuff should be available to the general public. Because people would buy the heck out of that stuff.
Drives me nuts. Just went to the husker "official online store". Zero Nebraska script shirts, Zero basketball Herbie shirts, very few huskers script shirts.

Can someone tell me why the flying F our coaches have insanely cool gear that is never available for purchase? Is the university allergic to money? The Adidas licensed gear at the team store is absolute garbage.
Coach Harv's baseball Herbie shirt, Coach Bolt's pull over....nowhere to be found. In fact there is zero gear with that script Nebraska available...
Frost Herbie golf hat....nowhere to be found.

**Before he lost his job earlier this week, now-former Chicago Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg had reportedly lost control of his team. The Athletic's Darnell Mayberry reported Tuesday that "players no longer believed in his system and became increasingly emboldened in undermining Hoiberg's authority." Meanwhile, Bulls star Zach LaVine was reportedly allowed to do "anything he wanted."
**Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler said after Saturday’s 107–91 loss to the Knicks that he thought the team could probably be coached harder on occasion. “I believe in the guys in this locker room but I also believe we probably have to be coached a lot harder at times,” Butler said, as reported by Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune. “I’m sorry, I know Fred is a laid-back guy and I really respect him for that, but when guys aren’t doing what they’re supposed to do, you have to get on guys—myself included.”
Inability to hold guys accountable seems to be becoming a theme.

Bummer but still games so AWESOME!!
Yes, I'm guessing we had limited options - so we had to do what we could to get 3 games in. I'll take it over a missed weekend!

Thompson was my favorite QB in the portal and I am so glad he is now a Husker. I really think the offense could be special this year.
Dude is taking ownership of the position. Gotta love that. I'm thinking there won't be too much confusion on whose job that is, on day one of spring ball...

Would really like to see another 3 game series against a top 40 foe or... a 4 game weekend mini tourney with at least 2 of the games against a top 40 team.. (Maybe 1 opponent each from the West Coast Conference and Big West Conference)
Welp, looks like its gonna be a 3 team pod at Texas-Arlington. UT-Arlington and Northwestern St. Both Middle of the road Mid-Majors last year.

Yes & he maybe unhappy about not being the starter & playing time. I would image that the portal brings some premadonnas as players are leaving teams because of playing time or discipline.
I actually don't think Kobe is that kind of guy. He took a massively reduced role just to come to Nebraska and be a role player. The he decided to come back an extra year when he didn't have to - he could have been done after last year.

Interesting interview from Kobe Webster on 93.7 the ticket. He really was pretty open for it being the middle of the season. Said coaches aren’t holding players accountable and players aren’t holding other players accountable. Among other interesting answers. Whole thing sounds broken…

Evan Bland said news on an opponent for the first weekend of march, will drop this week. Expect Nebraska to be on the road instead of home

Quotes from Trev pretty telling as well. This seems like the beginning of the end for Fred.
