Those opinions were better shielded in the past, but with the addition of cable news and social media, its harder for journalists to hide their bias. And with Trump exposing the bias, its left us in a new era of information gathering as consumers and voters.
The information is out there, its up to the public to figure out what is fact and what is fiction. See earlier today you cited townhall.com as an actual source - anyone that took a 5th grade English class could tell you that townhall.com is not real news (fake news?), It's a Fugayzi, fugazi. It's a whazy. It's a woozie. It's fairy dust. it doesn't exist. It's never landed. It is no matter. It's not on the elemental chart. It's not f#&%ing real.
There is REAL journalism out there today - NPR for example. The real problem is people who read infowars and townhall.com and listen to Hannity all day - they think real, credible news is fake. The only thing that Trump exposed is that he is (still) full of s#!t and that if tells his base (not the majority of registered voters btw) not to believe it, then they'll look the other way.
Also, if this new era of information gathering has been rough on you, I still have my 5th grade English teachers email address - you can email her. Little piece of advice, if it wouldn't be credible for a book report in her class, it's probably not suitable for you to eat up like a bowl of lucky charms at breakfast.

That is your opinion. Granting citizenship to those who didn't follow the rules is dumb to me, just as Obamacare was dumb to me as it didn't address the core of rising health care costs. Our current immigration laws are dumb and outdated. If the Dems believe so strongly in granting citizenship to DACA illegals, they have to give a little. Moreover, the amount of money spent on illegals entering our country is more than the cost of building the wall.
Flat out not true, economics on illegals is really complex but probably a net positive. I understand I won't convince you other wise, but there is some great non-partisan information out there if you want to break it down.

Isn't the bolded what being POTUS is all about. Working across the aisle, giving a little to get a little. You act as though that is a bad thing. I would expect a super majority of Americans want their POTUS to make deals to move things forward.
Give and take is one thing, but the wall is so massively dumb and a huge waste of money that it was never going to be agreed upon.

So how does medicaid expansion and Ricketts both win? I swear people need to actually look at the policies of the people they are voting for. Thought Krist would be good for this state, disappointed to have Ricketts run this state for the next 4 years.

i live in a small town....there was a line of 3 people ahead of me when i went in this morning after dropping son off at school. and it's not like a big city...you know everyone so there is some visiting with friends before and after voting.
I live in Omaha - left work at 4:00 - got to polling place at 4:15 was at home by 4:30. I like thanking the volunteers and seeing people out voting. I'm 28 and never had to wait in line to vote at my polling place, I would guess the day I wait in line is the day I switch to a mail in ballot.

For those following more closely, what are the odds of Krist beating Ricketts? Better odds to hit the mega millions?

Continued confirmation that Frost picked the right signal caller. Other than the boneheaded backwards pass Martinez was a stud once again. 340 total yards and 3 touchdowns in the shoe as a true freshman.

Its really not like that at all. We could potentially continue recruiting him and it wouldn't be weird at all. I don't really get the idea the bridge has been burned. If Wandale wasn't paid off and Frost is still interested then we will continue to pursue him. Why would he want to come here after today? The same reasons he has wanted to come from the beginning. What about today turned him off to us? If the relationship with the staff is still good, then there is still a chance if we wanted to take it. Not sure that we do, but it doesn't seem to me the bridge is burned.
Honestly the bridge is burned but probably in the opposite direction, I can't speak to if he got paid. But him switching to Kentucky final hour after committing to Frost the week before, seems like a likely assumption at this point given the crystal ball predictions on 247. If that were the case - I cannot see Frost too excited to pursue him from this point on. Frost probably sick of having to manage a roster of guys who need the ball in their hands 20+ times or they're gonna bail.

I’d imagine 2 of MW, Jones, Robinson would’ve been on the field at all times with Mills taking reps exclusively at RB for certain drives.
Very true - still a lot of dogs in that room with or without Robinson.

Assuming no shenanigans I can understand his decision. Some quotes stood out
Assuming no shenanigans, its a pretty logical choice for him. The way he talks about himself - he doesn't seem like a guy that would handle the bench too well. Snell potentially to the NFL next year - Kentucky RB position could be gift wrapped for Wandale. If I was a RB recruit watching Mo right now, I would have to assume I wouldn't be option A at RB for a couple of years.
-
Not hugely disappointed we didn't get the kid - just frustrating how it unfolded. Having Johnson, Jones, Washington for the next 3-4 years - Wandale would have just been the rich getting richer. If this class turns out how I think it will then the Wandale saga won't even be a footnote.

The attitude difference between this Minnesota team and Nebraska's tournament teams is night and day. One acts like they belong, one acted like they were just lucky to be invited. Minny over UCLA 3-2 in 10 innings. Looked damn good doing it as well.
-
Maybe my googling skills need work, but I haven't seen anything tying this kid to the MLB draft. He might be a good college baseball prospect, but he isn't in the same ballpark (pun intended) as Bubba when it comes to the draft. Bubba was going on the 1st day of the draft no matter what, and was basically using Nebraska as a pawn in contract negotiations. There is a 99% chance Plumlee ends up in college.

Agreed. Minny could do it, and Purdue has a puncher’s chance of making it too.
Looking forward to watching both them play, minny does everything well.

Strong batch of teams in the tournament for the B1G this year. Minny has a real shot at Omaha.

Not gonna solve the problem with offense. Nebraska has shown they can only "clutch hit" when they're down 8+ runs most of this season. Erstad has proven little or nothing as hitting coach in 5 years (counting 2011) and needed to take himself out of that position. I would have hardly considered that the "easy" way out.
That’s where I’m at. Silva I can see because our pitching sans this past season has been our backbone. But why we would hold on to Kirby when it’s painfully obvious it’s been awful ever since Bolt left, is beyond me. We need to entirely change the offensive approach this offseason, Wilk and Scott are not gonna be there next season to bail us out.

Gary Sharp was making the points as well. Seeing as he has been around for a few decades and called Nebraska baseball for a few years (before Jim Rose started getting people fired for some reason), I think he has some access to info.
Thanks. Doubting Gary and Damon is understood on things. But both those dudes are very connected to high school coaches and that shouldn’t be doubted.

Your mistake is taking 100% of what Benning says as the full truth. I don't care for the staff either, but that does not mean we have a lot of mid to upper D1 talent. I do not know what the kids are like out west, but I do in the Lincoln area. We have some good athletes in the area, but the best way to say it is they don't have the physical tools: too small, too slow, average arms. And the best athletes around here, what to play football.
Bohm, Hoffman, Foster, Helman, Stroh, Van Scoy, Culliver, Rose...all those guys could be major players at Nebraska and we let them get out of state. Trust me Nebraska produces quite a bit of baseball talent for a small state. I could build a lineup of Nebraska/IWCC kids that would be a 1 or 2 seed this season.

Please provide sources or examples! There is a fine line in recruiting talent in baseball. If they are too good, they go straight into the pros. Plus, we do not offer full rides. I am not a DE fan, as his players hardly ever get better and lack the common basics of the game. It's all about finding the athlete and teaching.
Of which claim? Taking Sean Chandler last minute and not notifying the IWCC staff of their intentions was not beneficial to relations. I’ve heard from parents of former players and high school recruits that don’t think highly of our current staff. Sharp and Benning dedicated a segment, Monday I believe, to the poor reputation around the state that this staff has with HS coaches. Also the proof is in the pudding - for a state that produces so much talent, we only have one contributor on offense that is from the state and he wasn’t even a scholarship player.

The sad part is people are willing to overlook Erstad's recruiting failures within the state of Nebraska. They'll blame the Big 10 ("nobody wants to play in that league") when the word on the street is no effort is being made to contact some very talented players in NE :|
Alienating the local HS coaches and JUCOs (IWCC) is so dumb, yet that’s exactly what this staff has done. That coupled with the fact it’s locally known that our pitching coach will ruin your arm - idk what parent/coach would send his kid here. Offensively we have recruited slow, .200 hitters - who don’t know how to run the bases correctly (90% of them from out of state). I think Moos would be shocked to see who he could get to run this program if we just put the effort in. The last national search yielded us Van Horn...

This is not a well coached team. Also this year record wise should be worse than Anderson's worst team. With Scott and Wilk gone after this year, I fail to see how Erstad's run has/will be any better than Anderson's. As a die hard it's tough to see our program come to this.

When/where was the 1st incident that Bland is referring to?
The “protection” reasoning is bunk or he would’ve been out there in the top half playing SS before pinch-hitting him next time his spot comes up. That was an immediate benching. Just own that.
Twice I’ve been thrown at and twice I knew it was coming, both times my coach prepped me for it, he didn’t pull me for my “protection” or to avoid a fight.
I’d rather he just say it was benching rather than this excuse making.
Also judging by what he said and how he reacted to Gelo coming back to the dugout, it wasn't a protection thing. This was for sure a backtrack after looking silly on multiple outlets for not allowing a college kid to have fun. Also for anyone watching those games, that was the last bit of energy we really showed all weekend, the effort was butt after that homer (sans Hohensee).

Disrespecting the military only counts if you're a self deprecating comedian on SNL.....if you're a commander-in-chief or acting attorney general, it's okay to scam veterans, attack the parents of a deceased bronze star veteran, and mock a POW for being captured. Did you even take civics class????? Day one stuff.
