Thought it was appropriate for me to tag on to this post for obvious geographic reasons (STL). I'll not have time to check-in or post tomorrow so...

One last hug. One last kiss. One last megathread keystroke.

Scott Frost will be the next great Husker coach.

Farewell to thee most awesome of threads.

Benning and Foreman really showing their true colors now.  They can just shut up all together for all I care.  I hate Damon's stupid metaphors anyways.  Never did understand everyones' love for the guy.

I like DB alot. I don't really understand why he's talking like this, he says things on his show all the time about how immature he and other players were 20 years ago. Hell I'm sure Frost was immature as well. You would think you could put 20 year old "beef" aside and welcome one of your own.

I know that one is a reach, but if he stayed, there's no reason for him to believe he couldn't sustain a high level of success.  They are in a top 20 TV market and in a state that a lot of conferences would love to gain a share/bigger share of.  I don't think it's too big of a stretch to see UCF and USF joining a power 5 conference together at some point.  If that happens then a lot Nebraska's advantages are diminished.  Again, I don't agree, but this is probably the biggest thing they can sell to a big time coach.

Yeah but I'm not so sure Florida, FSU, Miami would allow UCF into a power 5 league. I can see your advantages - but I think that debate is more so: Do you want to reach the pinnacle of your profession or do you want to be comfortable.

    Easier place to win: UCF

    Stress Level: UCF

Current State of the Program: UCF

Program Potential (if UCF is bumped up to power 5): UCF

    Realistic Expectations: UCF

I don't agree with him, but there are definitely some positives in UCF's favor.

And if my aunt had balls she would be my uncle. I'd debate program potential if they were in a power 5, but they're not, and there is no sign that they will be. Program potential leans heavy Nebraska.

  5. Danny Kanell said UCF might be a better job than Nebraska. Tell me if there is something I'm missing.

Facilities: Nebraska (Not even a discussion)

Fan Support: Nebraska (Not even a discussion)

Money: Nebraska (Not even a discussion)

Recruiting: Nebraska (UCF closer to talent, but there is a reason that we've out recruited them every year since recruiting rankings were invented)

    Conference: Nebraska (C'mon)

    History: Nebraska (C'mon)

Here’s something to increase our pages:

shoukd Scott Frost have full control of who he chooses for his staff without any input from his AD?  My answer would be absolutely. But there has been a mini-outcry from some of our current players on social media that want certain coaches to stay. What do you all think?

Frost - full control. That's the only answer here.

I read a number of our fans resort to the “we have more talent then the rest of the division” comment. Easy to say, impossible to support. Frankly, I don’t buy it when we win only 4 games. I look for 3 to 5 years for a turnaround - one recruit, one practice, one game, one year at a time. Unrealistic expectations will get us nowhere.

Oh I don't expect us to be amazing next year. I'm just saying if we surprise some people, and win say 9 games it wouldn't shock me. Maybe "talent" is the wrong word, but I do put a lot of stock in recruiting rankings and the evidence that supports it. I think the caliber of athlete Frost will work with offensively next season, will be closer to his time at Oregon than it is at UCF currently. Don't confuse this for having high expectations, because I most definitely don't expect a big year - just saying I wouldn't count out the caliber of athlete we have and the impact of good coaching.

  8. Next year is one of those years that the fan base would be excited for a bowl game. That being said we have more talent than the rest of the division so who the hell knows where good coaching gets us. Recruit the players on the roster to stay, bring in a top 30 class - all bets are off.

Ah, so they gave you the dollars for the bit coin value at that time. I was wondering if you were getting double your money considering 1 bit coin is worth about 10k today, whereas a month ago it was worth about 5k. :cowbell:

Yeah, it captures it at that time. Paxful is the site I sold the visa giftcard on to buy bitcoin and had zero issues - if anyone was interested.

How does that work with Bitcoin value moving around so much? Particularly to the upside.

I didn't trust Bovada with my credit card. So I bought a $100 dollar visa giftcard at Walgreens (US use), and sold it for $95 worth of bitcoin. Once I loaded the $95 worth of bitcoin to Bovada they converted the bitcoin back to dollars in my account. Hope that makes sense, it was a new experience for me but I didn't want my credit card on sketch sites.

  11. Ugh the UCF fans on the message board now turning on Frost. These people just don't understand Nebraskan's connection to this football team. I'm looking at things like Sam Foltz and Jack Hoffman/Rex. Things like families all over this state coming together on gameday every Saturday. Things like dad's, grandpa's, hell grandma's and mom's throwing hail marys to kids in the front yard during half time. Scott Frost is a Nebraskan, a lot of coaches staff are Nebraskans - they have the same fire in their bellies for Nebraska football that all of us do. I think he has given his all to UCF and loves that program, but this is Home. This is Nebraska football. And there is NOTHING like Nebraska football to a Nebraskan.

Fuente is more or less N if we want him. We will not need to go that route though. Fuente is a Midwestern guy from Oklahoma. He actually gets what NU is and it would obviously be what he would consider a big gig.

Moos seems to have done a much better job lining up coaches then a couple of SEC ADs.
