I was being ironic. That poster isn't voting for Biden even if gas is free.
My point still stands. Average Americans (many that would/did vote for Biden) won't read up on the in's and out's of oil supply/demand and tie the current administration to current gas prices.

I'll bet the poster above me won't vote to reelect Biden now that this has happened.
Just the tip of the iceberg unfortunately. I'll use my sister in law as an example. She's a Nurse, with kids, modest home, probably the average American in many regards. See her weekly, never have heard speak a word about anything politics, not Trump, not Biden, nada. This past weekend she says, "Why are gas prices so high? Is it the new President?" I assume there is a lot of that out there. Not the Biden admin's creation but it is their problem.

Yup, bunch of pansies

This is really ridiculous and kind of sad. I wonder if they initiated the conversation or not.
Nebraska still hasn't tweeted about it, making me think LBSU decided this on their own and left us high and dry. That's 2 straight weeks on the schedule that a southern cali team was suppose to come to Lincoln but left us scrambling. I'm sure Bolt is livid.

The price of oil gives them a lot of incentive.
*When asked about production targets for 2022 during a January earnings call, ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods responded, "The primary objectives we've had in looking at the portfolio is less about volume and volume targets and more about the quality and profitability of the barrels that we're producing."
Straight from the horses mouth.

This would be great. Per the article I posted, the oil companies are in the same boat as everyone else. They need people and equipment.
What incentive do the Oil Companies have for boosting output? Seems like they are probably making bank, and increased output = more cost to them, and lower prices. One article I read had a US Oil Exec quote that said (paraphrasing) 'Yeah, we're gonna have to run increasing output by our investors' - which screams to me, yeah we'll increase output if our investors wanna make less money (HAHAHAHA).

Pitching depth is a real issue.
IDK about that. We just had 4 starters throw 26.1 giving up 2 earned runs this entire weekend. Olson and Ornelas have been solid BP arms. There's a ton of young arm talent, I've heard Jelkin is a top 3 arm on the team but just has figure out the off the field balance. I think the coaches have faith in Gomes, Bragg, Bradford all being factors in the pen as well.

This pitching staff has potential. Night and day from the first two weeks and it wasn’t just a competition thing.

He regained some confidence after the two doubles all the other hits were weak contact, and that's baseball. They wanted to give him a confidence booster early just didn't work out.
Ben and Greg indicated his body language wasn't the best and was annoyed on close pitches. I get the trying to manufacture confidence thing, but also think at 2-6 we just need to focus on wins and don't have the luxury. Hopefully we go get 2 today.

It was painfully obvious to give Gomes
the hook. He wasn’t locating the breaking pitch and was visibly shook.

Biden tried to stop the leases that had already been agreed upon and lost. It was a repeat of Obama-Biden where they stopped drilling on public land and then tried to take credit for the drilling on private land (which they couldn't stop).
With whom can one buy nuclear stock anymore? A uranium mining co?
Yep uranium miners or Sprott now has a Uranium trust so you can be exposed to physical.

They can only win two branches. But I agree, it's extremely likely Republicans take the House and the Senate.
After the 2024 election, where the Senate map is heavily favored by the GOP, Republicans will be pushing 56-58 Senate seats despite their Senators receiving millions of fewer votes. It's likely more than a decade before Democrats have a chance to win the chamber back, if not longer.
My HS civics teacher is somewhere very disappointed in me. My bad

I agree. The recent approval ratings bump is likely a Rally Around the Flag effect Americans are feeling right now.
By May, when gas is 75 cents higher in average and summer demand amps up, the average American will be upset at rising prices and the electoral position of Democrats will suffer.
Also, the current Republican pressure, shared even by some Democrats, to end Russian oil and gas exports is bait. They're frothing at the mouth to ban gas imports and to blame Biden/Democrats for the rise in prices.
I just posted the same in the Russia thread, probably should have posted it here. Being hard on Russia is a win-win for R's. Gas and Food prices will be sky high this summer and will burry the Dems.

He'll most likely get what he wants and in a few years everyone will have just moved on, me included...
Side note, if we want to bring it home to American politics. Republicans are gonna clean house on upcoming elections. The not dumb ones are going hard after Putin, so they look tough on Russia. And when food and fuel prices go through the roof this year they'll pin it all on Dems owning all 3 branches.

I disagree. This is like letting the bully keep some of the lunch money because he got a little blood on his shirt.
I guess it's up to Ukraine, but screw Putin and his demands.
Theres a lot to consider. I wish it was as easy as 'We need to punish Putin', but we have to acknowledge Putin holds bargaining chips too. Theres the continuing loss of life if the war rages on, on top of that Russia holds the keys to lessening the blow of skyrocketing fuel, energy and food costs that are gonna be felt everywhere - even places that can't afford it.

Now we're cooking.

USO options will still be good. Especially with summer driving season coming up. Up 20% since I put it out there at the start of all this nonsense. And options obviously pay much more than the 20% once strike price is hit. Might be a good hedge for you.
Thanks for the heads up, a lot of of the guys I follow on twitter are heavy into commodities right now, I'll have to find some of them that are playing oil. Also seems like there will be a an opportunity to play grain prices. Honestly just playing any commodity should net you a nice gain over the next decade.
