What does Doc bring to the table?

Fred is Nebraska’s John Wooden. Final Four in six years.

Nebraska’s John Wooden has just been hired.
-
I expect 90,000 people to go nuts when The Mayor gets introduced at the Spring game.
-
The first thing he better do is beat Creighton next season.
Given the amount of money he is he is being paid, he better make the Sweet Sixteen. No more mediocrity.
-
Butler wins. Excellent defense by their guards. Butler coach is also very good.
-
This leak is intentional. It will be Fred.
UCLA should hire Porter Moser.
-
I’m now thinking Miles stays.
-
How can Miles be fired after that win?

Check out the coaching job of Darren DeVries at Drake. Co-champs of his conference in his first year. His best player gets hurt early in the first MVC tourney game, but Drake wins easily.
-
Lots of talk about Kevin McKenna. He’s been highly recommended by both Dana Altman and the Creighton AD Bruce Rasmussen.
-
Hearing that there is interest in Steve Lavin but his wife doesn’t want to move to Nebraska. That’s a problem!
-
Connie Yori would be great and she is available. But I’m hearing lots of talk about Kevin McKenna at Oregon.
-
Darrien DeVries at Drake. He turned around a terrible team in ONE YEAR. He has already won 16 games and is second in the MVC.
He was the top assistant at Creighton for Dana and Mac. He always did the scouting report against Nebraska.

Word from my sources at PoPo's tell me that Uncle Moose is flying all around the country talking to basketball people about who to hire to replace Miles. Dr. K, Jay Wright, Lavin, Raff and Dana have all been consulted.
Uncle Moose has a list and he's checking it twice. He's been very, very busy. If you could only see his flight schedules.
My sources are plugged-in.

Gregg Marshall at Wichita. Team would be very tough.
-
It would take lots and lots of money and good persuasion to get Altman to Nebraska. He did NOT like UNL when he was at Creighton. Not one bit.
Dana took OR to the Final Four. And the weakness of the PAC 10 is an asset. Who can beat OR? In the Big Ten, it is much, much different.

Pinnacle Bank Arena was packed on Saturday evening, with 15,028 anxious fans awaiting their team’s response to the loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. Students stood outside in the 20-degree cold with signs mocking Creighton for being implicated in the FBI’s investigation into college basketball. Hundreds of fans stood in standing room only spots on the concourse, and before the national anthem started, a fan cut through the quiet with a stern: “Creighton sucks!”....
Then Palmer hit his first three shots, all from 3. Students threw fake $100 bills into the air in place of the usual newspaper clippings.
My peeps!

“
You don’t get raccoon eyes because you want them,” he said, showing off the bags his glasses were hiding.
During Creighton week, you don’t rest. You try to convince yourself it is just another game, Miles said.
“But when you’re in it, it means everything,” he said. “You don’t sleep.”
Would Dr. Tom say the above about the Oklahoma game?
-
Nick Bahe said Nebraska will win in a close game.
-
After the collapse at Minnesota, I’m highly concerned. Creighton played #1 Gonzaga close. Two big and mobile centers. Their coach seems to have a hex on Miles. And they always seem to shoot the 3 well.
I’m afraid we lose by 3.

“Championship- ridden program?”
Winning titles is a real plague.
Iowa education at work there.
