NFL teams couldn't care less about if your college team wins games.

If I was a draft analyst and I couldn't decide between an Ohio state guy and a Group of 5 player I would 100% pick the Ohio State guy. You'll look so much less stupid if you're wrong

  2. Minnesota looked good in what I saw of their spring game.  With half their staff leaving and losing a bunch of key players, I thought they might be in shambles and they just aren't. They seem to have replaced Ibrahim with a really solid young running back.  Their kicker is amazing.  They seem to be the same tough, physical team.  I think Vegas is right and for the third straight head coach we will start their tenure off with a loss.

On the bright side I was shocked at how bad Wisconsin looked.

  3. Ok I will overreact.  This game did not instill confidence in me.  Turnovers and penalties killed us for the last half decade and that's what we got in spades.  I thought Rhule was a detail guy who would cut those down.  After Sims and Casey our QB room is not good.  I'm ready to personally transfer a couple of them. I don't know what position I want HH to play, but it's not QB.  The Two TEs we're all very excited about looked pedestrian.  Our offensive line looked like it hasn't improved.  I'm annoyed that we attempted a 48 yarder into the wind.  That is such a hard kick and we all knew he was going to miss when he lined up.  Getting to a bowl game is going to be hard.

  4. A lot of people on twitter and here seem very upset.  I might be in the minority here, but now that we have an interim coach and an injured starting QB, it doesn't bother me when we lose. Bowl game was a long shot anyway.  Next year we'll be in a better place with a full staff and more developed players.

  5. Other people who failed in the NFL - Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.  Success in the NFL is largely tied to having a great QB. Rhule was able to build up programs twice not just one flash in a pan.  I feel like I'm usually the pessimist.  No reason to be a pessimist with this hire if true.

Can anyone explain what happened to Garcia-Castaneda? 4 catches for 120 yards and a TD against NW. Then 1 catch for zero yards since.

He also has dropped a few passes.

I think I remember him dropping two passing in the spring game too

he'll be 60 after his 1st season here. feels like mike riley all over again. mike riley won games at oregon st too which is the kansas of the pac10.

Totally different.  Buffalo is a G5 that has to play P5 teams and he still had a winning record including bowl game wins.  Mike Riley was .500 including playing cupcake G5 teams. Right now he's proving that without star talent he can develop fundamentals well enough to take one of 2 programs that hasn't had a bowl in five years (we're the other one) to looking like a real team despite the talent gap.  Yes this year, but also towards the end of last year as well.

Some people mentioned that it was weird that I want him because he's a state over.  That's not why I want him.  There are many solid coaches that seem to be regional.  I'm saying that him being more of a Midwest guy makes me think pulling him is an easier sell.

As far as his age, to quote a former president  "I will not make age an issue of this campaign. I am not going to exploit, for political purposes, my opponent's youth and inexperience"
