Hey, I like where you are going with this thread. You started with some solid statistical analysis to make this point.....
But you are missing something. There are lots of threads and posts with "wishlists". I want to see a list of P5 coaches you think are being mentioned that are UNrealistic.
I can start that.
Chris Petersen is unrealistic.
Bob stoops is too.
Chip Kelly is also.

1 of 13 states I haven't been to. I'll take your word for it since I can't imagine a reason for visiting.
What are the other twelve? I'll tell ya if any are worth drinking in also!

Definitely a tough call. On one hand Bryant is probably really pushing to play and when he's healthy, he's easily Nebraska's best back. On the other hand the coaching staff has a responsibility to protect the players, sometimes that's from themselves. Selfishly, I hope he's held out for the rest of the year to recover and heal up. I think we can all safely assume that any major postseason games are likely off the table. A healthy Tre Bryant would be a nice stabilizing force in '18 and '19 (if he's able to get a medical RS).
He is only a sophmore, he would have '19 either way.

It's like Diaco gets scared when an opponent has weapons. We attacked the hell out of Illinois and did similar to Rutgers. I saw a little press Saturday night but you could tell Diaco didn't trust the secondary enough to blitz or play aggressive at all.
I am not sure what the difference would have been. Blitz and press and maybe get beat deep, or just play 10 tards ogf and not stop them either. At least roll the dice and try.

GNF: The key to successful threads and posts - KISS - Not keep it simple but keep it SHORT (ok medium length at best) - Way too much verbiage to wade through there. Got some key points, then say it and you can follow up with the rest of the encyclopedia in follow up posts.
GNF ... N really does stand for knowledge!

Awesome. I had a major conflict at 11 AM. Glad I can watch now.
Explain to me the difference between a conflict, and a major conflict please.

He went 80 consecutive qtrs without getting his heart rate over 130.
130? The man is going to turn 100 before his heart rate ever gets to 100.

Would Riley be here for that though?

Finish 6-0 because Riley will Riley. Still gets replaced if we can find a good replacement.
To you and Pedro, we only have 5 games left dudes.

We wanted a power 5 AD and we got one who has two very successful coaching hires to his record. Step 1, complete.
Who are these two hires?

I think it's time to accept the reality that Nebraska may never be a top program again. We've lost all our advantages and why coach at Nebraska when you can coach at any school in Texas, California, or the South East?
This. I read an article about all the past national champions and they were all either in prime recruiting states, or bordered one. They said Nebraska's success was pretty much a miracle. We struck gold with Devaney and TO. It may be time to just be glad we lived it and accept reality.
Maybe Scott Frost is the third in that heavenly trio but I am not holding my breath. Life is too short to get this worked up with could have, should have, might be.

I mean, the dude is close to retirement, doubled his salary, and it's guaranteed through the next 3 years. In most professions, that wouldn't be considered a mistake of a career decision.
Which brings up a good point. I'm pretty sure our asshat of an AD went with Riley because he was a "bargain".
I think this is spot on. We can blame Riley, but the blame truly falls on Eichorst and Perlman. Anyone in Riley's position would have accepted the Nebraska job.

Good place to buy a few shirts and hats?
Best of Big Red down on 8th is close to the stadium. In the haymarket area just west of campus.

I have heard others mention that as well...would that means he has lost the team? That sort of happened in 07, didn't it?
It did for sure, that was my senior year. They knew the coach was gone so they gave up.

You can call it what you want but he didn't get sacked. By sending 3 guys out we should be able to get open once in a while. Morgan, DPE and Spielman have the talentMorgan and Spielman do. DPE is not a good wide receiver, never has been.

I heard that if we don't hire Scott Frost, every fan will stop attending gsmes so that the streak ends. Because science.
Also, I once saw Scott Frost scissor kick Angela Landsbury.
I enjoy South Park, so of course I read that as "I once saw Scott Frost scissor Angela Landsbury"

Sure keep him we need someone to fill in as head coach after we lose 59-6 to tOSU
59-6 is a 6 point improvement my friend. Program on the uptick right there.

I fully agree with your point about supporting the kids however. No matter the coach, or if they stink, I will still support them until the end. They deserve it no matter what.

Right, with 5 star players in a weak conference. Dabo was on the hot seat for some time and it took him a decade to get it going while also always having top shelf talent. Maybe not the number one class but top 10-15 consistently and his top shelf players were elite. Facts.
This is his 9th year this year, won a NC in his 8th. That is still less than a decade right this moment. Facts.

Texas. Real, honest hatred there. Wisconsin is eh, annoying but we just suck.
Texas always seemed to get lucky breaks and be a thorn that was always there. Wisky just murders us.
I still don't feel like it is normal for NU to be in the Big Ten.
