  1. Well I admit probably a non-issue, but since I have nothing new to think about today I will contribute. I think alot is going on, but it looks like maybe Tom would have stepped in and sent some bigger names. Or maybe he did and got those that did go, there. One could also argue that Henery is a big name, but probably not to the kids in the Jacksonville area.

  2. HuskerTrucker you and I agree. I sort of felt bad for going against the Big 12, but not bad enough to want Mizzouri to win. I thought Northwestern played out their a$$es and looked better coached and prepared then all of the teams I have seen yet.

I must be bi-polar because I relished the first quarter when Missouri looked like they were to be romped on, then I was wishing they put up a better image of the big-12 in the 2nd, then I wanted a tiger roasting in the 3rd, then etc... you get the point.

  3. I can't wait for the game, but I am enjoying the other bowls. A lot of good games!

Yup- enjoy em' now because the dead of winter is coming. .

I was just thinking that it feels like Jan 1 is taking forever. Many of the boards have nearly ran out of things to talk about and the posters are now starting to turn against each other out of boredom.

  4. Thanks for the feedback everybody! We're hoping to get some play time on the radio stations with this around game time in the coming year!

Good tune. Nice to see an ex-nebraska quarterback on your band's roster. Maybe CBS would play it as an intro.

  5. The only problem I have with West is that he never turns his head to look for the ball. I've seen in many games this season that if he turns is head he would have an easy INT. Thats the only problem i have with him, and other than that he is a pretty good DB.

Why is this? I am sure that other team's corners at times do not turn to look at the ball, but it seems that many Nebraska corners don't, and this is going back many years.

  6. in order of hate

    1. Missouri

    2. Colorado

    3. Kansas State

I live part of the year equal distance from all of them. ok- closer to k-state, but Missouri is still number 1

Big 12 teams that if we aren't playing them, I wish to do well

    1. Oklahoma

    2. Kansas

Teams out of the big 12 that I dislike

    1. Notre Dame

    2. LSU- although I am working on disliking them less

  7. I don't think I've ever seen a "Anthony West Sucks Thread" or anything like that but just here and there I've noticed quite a few jabs at West and how he isn't very good.

Why do people say this? Is he a shut down corner?... no, but he is a Sophomore that has shown the ability to break up some passes and not let huge plays get put on him.

Maybe I just haven't noticed these instances where he seems to be doing terrible, but could that not be because of the kind of WRs hes going against.

Basically I'm just trying to figure out where this stigma that West isn't a good corner comes from, can anyone explain this to me?!

I have never heard this. I must have missed something.

  8. I apologize for calling your thread stupid. If your thinking it, it really not stupid(within reason). I think being a former member of the rival site wore off on me. This board is a much friendlier and better moderated site.

That said, what I objected to was your intonation that a plumber is unintelligent. Enough written.

Regarding your post, I don't know about Bo feeling that he has inadequate salary. I would think that he knew the job, the pay, and his expectations. However, I have to admit that as much as I love Bo as a coach, I wondered if he would be here for long. It was the reason that I supported Turner a little more than Bo. I just have the average fan's knowledge of what goes on and it was my thoughts at the time.

If memory serves me correctly, in the late 80s or early 90s, Tom's salary was an issue because he was not all that highly paid when compared to the other coaches in the big 8. He stayed regardless because he was a process type person- he was driven by the process of coaching boys into young men. I don't really know about Bo, if he is only driven by money then he may leave. But I have a feeling he is driven by challenge, so I can't really guess as to what he will do when he completes the resurrection of this program in about three years.

    Merry Christmas

  9. ESPN will like us when we beat a current ranked opponet. We really have deserved the critcism they have dished out for the previous six or seven years.

Some of the journalists have pi&$ed me off, too and I don't understand the source of their hate. But then again maybe I'm standing too close to forest to see the trees. Anyway, shows you how special college football is that one little ole team from the bullseye of the nation can cause so much venom. I choose to take it as a compliment.

  10. I just read the LJS article on A.Henery and I got to thinking, "What does a kicker think in the minutes leading up to a kick of Henery's magnitude?" Are there any ex-kickers out there? For me, the final 30 seconds before the actual kick would be the time I went into shock. I also wonder if all of Henery's new noteriaty might have an affect on him in the future (positive or neg). He mentioned that he is quiet and likes to stay out of the limelight. Not a revolutionary thread idea or anything, but I have always wondered what exactly they were thinking before the kick.

  11. So is the team leaving on the 27th? That seems later to me then in other years we played in a Jan 1 bowl. I am sure some of the players will like to have x-mas with their familes, but what about the ones that can't go home. I would think they would probably prefer to be in Florida.

  12. Huskers Cram for Clemson

A decent article about how Pelini & co are installing the gameplan during practices before leaving for the bowl site (is this normal, by the way? just curious. doesn't seem that out of the ordinary.)

CU uses multiple sets and formations that will force Nebraska out of its base personnel and into nickel and dime defenses. “They remind me of our offense,” Pelini said. “We’ll be in base, we’ll be in nickel, we’ll be in dime, probably equal amounts of time."

:D Bo Pelini is a scholar and a poet.

Although I'm not sure how why he's talking about our preparations in such detail.

  13. No sports books, but there is a bar in Las Vegas where we have the Las Vegas Nebraskans club. It is called Tocino's on Flamingo and Lindell. Awesome atmosphere, and a lot of fun every Huskers game. Get there early as it becomes standing room only 4 hours prior to kick off.

Here's the site of the nevada's for Nebraska Club.

My hubby is from Las Vegas and had the good fortune to marry a gal for nebraska (York). We attended a watch party in 1999 and again in 2005 at a bar in Vegas as a Nebraska Watch site. It was a ball, but I don't think it was called Tocino's, it was something else. Maybe the bar changed hands? Whatever, it was a ball. Lots and lots of Huskers. A nice and refreashing change.

  14. We love college sports. Looking for a few Husker fans in the south Louisiana region, or else where nearby, to get together and have a few drinds, watch a few games, and talk a little smack. Pro or Con Huskers.
