If we lose to them.......
Won't be any worse than losing to NW last year to give them their only W of the year. Or Georgia Southern. We'll take it in stride just like all the rest of our losses and move on.

Nebraska’s Portal Movement - Herbie's Hangout
QuoteNebraska had a flurry of it’s own with players entering the portal last week. We all knew this was coming, Nebraska at one point had over 100 scholarship football players in the spring and we have to get down to 85 when we play Minnesota. According to On3’s public chart, Nebraska is down to 88 players at this point. There’s one or two still on there that I believe are weighing their options to know where they could end up. Some guys want to stay FBS, and if they put their name in the portal Nebraska is released from its obligation to pay for them if they wish to retire. I know Rhule has offered this to one or two guys still on that list, they are going to see if there’s any interest and if not, they will take the offer.
You also have to remember that there is going to be some natural attrition this summer as well. Whether it’s guys cracking a teammate over the head with a beer bottle like what happened in the Pelini days, someone getting homesick, or just not jiving with the staff, I feel pretty safe sayin weare where we need to be with numbers. And we can go grab a couple in the portal if need be. Today we will go over our top 3 losses from the dozen that have left. Here we go!........................

This is about Thompson, not Allan.
Oops. Wrong thread. Sorry.

I disagree. Most fans knew it was possible. But, they were hoping he wouldn’t leave.

I missed this when if was posted in March. After watching this video clip of Allen getting booted from a RB drill I have to think this isn't exactly the kind of effort HCMRh is looking for in his players. His entering the portal today seems to make more sense.

When was the last time NU made it through a season with a healthy QB.....
I believe it was Tommy Armstrong in 2014.

I sure hope Sims can stay healthy next season because I don't have a lot of confidence in the 2 remaining scholarship QB's.

I'd rather see Smothers stick around. While the coaches have talked Haarberg up I've seen nothing on the field from him to back it up.

What on earth is going on in Boulder?
QuoteI think we all knew when Deion Sanders was hired, that there would be some pretty unique things that happened out in Colorado during his first year. After going 1-11, there was a lot of work that needed to be done with that squad. But what’s happening is unprecedented…

Preview of the first play in the spring game tomorrow in honor of the 1st play in the 1965 Air Force game where Frank had 17 carries for 204 yards.

Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see some incorporated in.Rhule certainly knows enough Husker history to be well aware of the how much of a role it played in TO's great run. I'd be surprised if it wasn't trotted a few times since it seems to fit the touch nosed running approach he has been touting in the PC's. Why not throw it in every once and a while?

Nothing like 45 degrees and 25 mph wins.
Sucks for the fans but will be a great day to showcase the running game they've been talking up all spring.

Rhule wins 4 or 5 games year 1
Kind of where I'm at too.
N. Ill
La. Tech
NW
Purdue and/or Maryland
Anything beyond that will be shocking. And I'm none too confident in any of the B1G games for wins. Expect them to start 2-4.

Short Side Option's S&C Update
Lots of good observations in this writeup that I'm sure will be music to Husker fan's ears.
QuoteIt’s no secret I adamantly hated what we were doing with S&C the last 5 years. Trying to defy physics hasn’t worked since the earth was created, and us going back to what was going on in the 90s as if there haven’t been a ton of things that have came out to improve processes and results while using mostly none of it really pissed me off.
From a 30,000 foot view, this staff basically does everything that the few coaches on Twitter I follow do. And they do a lot of the things that a couple of the programs I work with in-state do. It’s exciting. Let’s just get into a bit of what we are doing now compared to what we did before............................

SSO’s Practice Observations (Offense)
QuoteOk, here we go! I’ve had a chance to be at two practices. I’ll first start by saying what I see is basically just from those two occasions with some of what i’ve heard sprinkled in.............
Going over a few coaching differences from the last 5 years to Rhule and Company
QuoteThe old joke about football is that if you ask 100 coaches how something should be done, you will end up getting 100 different answers. So that’s why when things go great people try to emulate but put their own spin on it. Conversely when things go bad you can say “see they shouldn’t have been doing _______ “. There’s things that I didn’t mind that Frost did, but there’s also things that I really didn’t understand the theory behind them. We are going to start with a few of the differences i’ve seen so far...............

Seeing rumblings that our new transfer center was injured yesterday. Hopefully its a baseless rumor, but if true hopefully its minor.
From the post practice PC Saturday Rhule said Ben Scott “got rolled up on” during Thursday’s practice.
There was some initial concern about the injury but he will only miss about a week, and it was nothing long-term.

2023 Husker Football Schedule

I'd be absolutely floored if this team wins 9. Just shocked if they were to manage 8 wins. Hoping for 6 and a bowl but that is certainly not a sure thing.
