Rhule wins 4 or 5 games year 1
Kind of where I'm at too.
N. Ill
La. Tech
NW
Purdue and/or Maryland
Anything beyond that will be shocking. And I'm none too confident in any of the B1G games for wins. Expect them to start 2-4.

Short Side Option's S&C Update
Lots of good observations in this writeup that I'm sure will be music to Husker fan's ears.
QuoteIt’s no secret I adamantly hated what we were doing with S&C the last 5 years. Trying to defy physics hasn’t worked since the earth was created, and us going back to what was going on in the 90s as if there haven’t been a ton of things that have came out to improve processes and results while using mostly none of it really pissed me off.
From a 30,000 foot view, this staff basically does everything that the few coaches on Twitter I follow do. And they do a lot of the things that a couple of the programs I work with in-state do. It’s exciting. Let’s just get into a bit of what we are doing now compared to what we did before............................

SSO’s Practice Observations (Offense)
QuoteOk, here we go! I’ve had a chance to be at two practices. I’ll first start by saying what I see is basically just from those two occasions with some of what i’ve heard sprinkled in.............
Going over a few coaching differences from the last 5 years to Rhule and Company
QuoteThe old joke about football is that if you ask 100 coaches how something should be done, you will end up getting 100 different answers. So that’s why when things go great people try to emulate but put their own spin on it. Conversely when things go bad you can say “see they shouldn’t have been doing _______ “. There’s things that I didn’t mind that Frost did, but there’s also things that I really didn’t understand the theory behind them. We are going to start with a few of the differences i’ve seen so far...............

Seeing rumblings that our new transfer center was injured yesterday. Hopefully its a baseless rumor, but if true hopefully its minor.
From the post practice PC Saturday Rhule said Ben Scott “got rolled up on” during Thursday’s practice.
There was some initial concern about the injury but he will only miss about a week, and it was nothing long-term.

If you look in the background starting at about the :05 mark it there is an observer that looks a lot like it could be Dylan R. It is blurry and almost appears the head has additional blur added since I believe it is a violation to feature a recruit in a promotional video. I wouldn't have noticed but saw it on another board somebody had posted.

I thought I saw something that 10 or 12 of the 15 practices will have media availability.
I believe it is 12.
This week:
Tuesday - No Media
Wednesday - Pro Day
Thursday - Media at open portion of practice - OC Marcus Satterfield, DC Tony White, 3-4 players afterward
Saturday - No Media

It was Tommi Hill
I have to wonder about his future here. Last year he starts the first few games as a DB, then loses the his starting roll. Next thing we know he's moved to WR where he didn't contribute. This year under the new staff he's back on defense and now he is suspended going into the first practice. Now exactly a model of stability.

Many thought Ajay Allen was well on his way to becoming the starter last year before his injury. If he can return healthy this year and it is Grant who is "Mr. Irrelevant" I think the writing is on the wall.

For us old guys, that video, that game was like a huge cleansing of the soul - a baptism of red kool-aid.
It never gets old watching it.
Especially after Byron Bennett’s missed FG with 1 second left in the 1994 Orange Bowl that cost us a National Championship the prior year. That ranked right up there with the 1984 OB loss on the missed 2 pt. conversion. Two gut punches that still are painful. But the '94, '95 & '97 seasons sure made a lot of that pain go away.

I'm expecting a 4-8 or 5-7 season next year with an 0-2 start. Just too much new and areas of concern up front on both sides of the ball.

Some of the pioneers of modern Husker football.
Freeman White
Harry Wilson - Hell of a run.
And again.

I'm glad to see this happen. Having coexisting different collectives never made much sense to me.

Despite the fact that, over the past 21 years, no other coach's best season has been better than Bo's worst season.
And in spite of having absolutely no support from both the chancellor and AD who were in fact conspiring against him.

I hope they don't try to push him to come back too soon. I'd rather have him healthy going into next season.

Can't remember if I've posted this before, but who cares about his age.
From reading various boards, apparently a lot of Husker fans. Or at least ones that frequent these forums. The negative comments and feelings seem to outweigh the positive.

If this is true let's hope the rest of the team can make those kind of gains with our new S&C staff before next season.

https://www.cornnation.com/2023/2/2/23582276/nebraska-penny-pinching-forces-matt-rhule-to-sue-carolina-panthers This article states it's Nebraska fault for Matt Rhule suing the Carolina Panthers. Don't know if that's necessary true or not.
Didn't bother with that dribble but Rhule & attorneys freely negotiated and signed the contract with DONU. They didn't sign it under duress. And now it's somehow NU's fault he is suing the Panthers? What a crock of sh$t.
