We will considering we are on pace to have a better class than last year. I hate when people ignorant to recruiting claim we aren't doing it well because that is completely false. Takes time for recruiting classes to come to fruition

yea, but it's less likely we finish this class strong after a couple blowout losses.

I don't even understand the bolded.  Please explain that one.

when you run a play out of shotgun, the line has to hold their block for an extra second because you're starting the play 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage.

I partially agree with this statement.  Maybe not all the time, but that I formation look will probably get used more.  I just think tonight it wouldn't have mattered what we ran.  Our line got murdered.

we ran shotgun 100% of the time. line is too slow to block out of shotgun

I am aware of where Frost has coached previously.  This is not the same offense that Oregon used to run, or that UCLA runs now.  It is very different.  Just because it looks the same to you, doesn't make it the same.

Plus, I don't give a damn what offense you run if you offensive line plays like that you aren't going to be successful.

the line is not thriving in the current offense. but they might be better in a power I offense where pass blocking is not as important.

Last year Wan'Dale Robinson came here. He's pretty good.   ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ohio state has about 10 wan'dale's. 1 a year is not enough.

Because we only have 12 recruits. Check the average star ranking or just wait for the cycle to be over, it will be another top 20 class

or maybe it won't? what recruit wants to come to a team that can't even make a bowl game?

    1.  That is not the same offense.

    2.  2 years ago Frost was "revolutionary" and the offense was "cutting edge" enough that he won national coach of the year.

We aren't good, we have many holes on our team but the offense is not outdated.

frost was on the oregon staff for several years learning from chip kelly before he took over the playcalling. it's the same offense.

it does not work in the physical cold big 10. especially with average talent.

The offense isn’t outdated, we just aren’t good at it

yea, but better talent isn't going to magically appear next year. we have an average recruiting class right now. we need a more basic offense that less athletic players can thrive in.

  8. because that's the only chance for this outdated offense to work.

unless we see a talent upgrade (which i don't see happening any time soon), we need a more basic power run offense like wisconsin/iowa.

that's our only chance to succeed in the near future.

I agree and the 14 point favorite makes me nervous to bet on NU. CUs defense isn’t a world beater and NIU is salty. IMO Frost doesn’t have the tools this year to make his O go. Can he adapt to what he has? Get to a bowl should be the goal this year, but I don’t see it. Hard to flip a losing culture.

not really frosts fault though. you can't recruit a full team with 2 recruiting cycles. he deserves more time to add talent. martinez and washington are a nice start to build off of.

We are a .500 team. Punchin' tickets to the nobody-cares bowl. Might match up against Chip Jelly there.

i mean it's year 2, and we don't have ucf's schedule... so i'm not sure what you were expecting.

Bruh look at the completion percentage and total yards. True Sophmore. How many True sophmores in Husker history put up these numbers? It takes a team to win a game.

all i'm saying is let's wait to call him one of the best to ever play here. you could have said the same thing after taylor martinez's freshman year. he's off to a rocky start this season. 118 qbr against south alabama, and 3 turnovers and 6 sacks against colorado.

Someone from Colorado called in on the post game show and he thought the altitude had a lot to do with the second half letdown.  There were many more factors but that probably entered into it.

I am surprised the OL isn't any better than it is.  We heard all year how hard they worked in the weight room and how much stronger and faster they were.  I can't tell much difference from last year.  It all starts with a good line, on offense or defense.  I don't think we are anywhere near being good in that area.

so do you not think the lineman at other schools work hard in the weight room?

Regardless of what people say he is one of the best QBs we have ever had thus far in his career including these 2 games

bruh...he's good, but clearly the media hyped him up way more than he deserved.

we nearly lost to south alabama because of his poor play and now we lose to colorado because he had 3 turnovers.

his career record is 5-8, so no i don't think he's the best qb we've ever had

  14. -mills/wandale/other newcomers have not been able to replace what zigbo/morgan gave us last year.

-martinez is in a sophomore slump, but i believe he's going to get out of it.

-mo washington looked special today. JD was good as usual

-defense has clearly improved, but got tired at the end.

-we might win this game if our starting kicker doesn't get hurt. which happens to maybe 5 teams a year?

all in all i think we are still a 6-8 win team. i think we need a few more playmakers on offense to step up before we are truly a great team.

  15. ziggy and morgan were great players, and their replacements have not shown much.

mills is basically a worse version of ziggy, and wandale is basically just a worse version of spielman.  i haven't seen anybody that replaces what stanley brought.

and martinez was terrible in game 1 and a turnover machine in game 2. not sure what to attribute that to other than maybe a sophomore slump?

Not sure I get this logic. 2019 isn't a make-or-break year for the program. We have coaches who've proven themselves at this level and we have better recruits coming in and weight programs than we've had the past ten years. If we have a couple-three fluke losses and end up with a losing season, that doesn't do anything to make these coaches get bad, the players to get lazy, or the future to look less bright.

I don't think we have to worry about a losing season. 7-6, 8-5 are real possibilities. But after that? It's looking way up.

everything is lined up for us to win 7+ games which is why i'm saying it would be devastating to have a losing season.
