it's a nationally televised game. if you think moving start time up is an option, then you don't understand how tv works.

weather.com says 75% chance it will rain at some point between 7pm-midnight

there's a reason our over under for regular season wins is 6.5. we have a ton of question marks. luckily we will get a peak at what to expect in 36 hours. 

if martinez stays healthy, i think we win 7+ regular season games.

why is this thread still active? gebbia is long gone.

akron only scored over 30 points 4 times last year. (AR pine bluff, bowling green, ball st, ohio)

if they get to 30 we should be very worried about this defense.

makenzie milton only threw under 15.5 completions 1 time last year. 15-23 against navy.

that one seems like a lock.

a lot of people seem to be forgetting that gebbia didn't come here to play in a spread offense. he came here to play in a pro offense. i have no idea how anyone can fault him for leaving. He deserves credit for sticking it out until the end.

In hindsight I take it as AM having come into camp in better shape and having performed better the first few days before Gebbia and him started going back and forth.

like i said last week, martinez was dominating and frost has been downplaying it in post practice interviews to keep him motivated.

I posted the same thing last week in a different thread.

from everything i've heard, Martinez has been the better QB in practice and it wasn't even close. 

i'd imagine gebbia has had this planned for a while, but was just waiting for the official word before moving on.

I think martinez is going to be the real deal. my only concern now is if he goes down with an injury, and we have no scholarship QBs to backup

I don't have an issue with any player leaving for greener pastures.  I think the timing is rather selfish and not very sportsmanlike.  What ever happened to the art of competition and earning your spot by out working the other fella?  I think if he is that miffed by one start or non start, he should leave.  Don't need team cancers in year one of a new direction.  This will follow Gebbia thru out the rest of his college career, and now most coaches won't start him right away to see if he stays and commits or takes his ball and goes home!

it's not a selfish move. we don't even know what frost told him in their meeting. gebbia doesn't want to lose a full season of eligibility by staying here.

i thought that's why gebbia redshirted last year, but he looks no bigger now than he did last year.

the only thing we know is that frost hand picked martinez in the offseason, so i'm going to say he's the starter.

if i turn in my season tickets 5 seconds before the first game starts, does the sellout streak end?

The race is still going on, and Bunch won't win...means they're probably doing pretty good. There are a lot more than two targets as well. This offense will most of the time release 5 into the pattern and every position has guys that make a QB's life easier. Tight end is a position we don't discuss that I think we will be thrilled with. Got so many weapons at so many positions it's hard to say what the best set may be. The staff can get real creative.

 

 

1. the coaches already know who the starter is. they've been working with these guys for 9 months. they know, but there's no reason to announce it and give akron a heads up.

2. whoever the starter is has no experience. that's why it's a concern. they can dominate practice and receive praise from the media, but doesn't mean much until we see them play a game.

3. yes i know there's more than 2 targets. i just was pointing out we have 2 really good proven receivers leading the group.

i think you have to say QB. we really have no idea how martinez or gebbia will perform. the bright side is they have 2 pretty good targets in morgan and spielman.

really can't afford to lose anyone else. not a ton of experience on this line.

just bring some headphones and play the song you want right when the tunnel walk starts. everyone wins.

ummmm weren't ohio state tickets like $12 on stubhub around 4 months ago?

you have 100+ kids doing high intensity workouts, it's likely somebody will get sick or injured. don't see this as an issue.

unreal what the new staff has done in about 45 days. imagine what we'll have with a full year to recruit.
