I feel like HH could a good 'college' qb with a whole offseason of reps. it'll be interesting to see who is the starter next year.
it's pretty rare to find a qb in the portal that is going to step in and be great.
the big ten west is a complete dumpster fire, but if HH keeps winning idk why you'd replace him next year.

reminder that a huge portion of the fanbase wanted jeff sims to remain starter
-
crazy we didn't throw some deep balls to him earlier in the season. he's clearly the best deep threat we have.

just making a bowl is good enough. i'm not sure getting beat 70-0 by michigan in the BTCG is helping the program.
-
its very possible he's just not good or not ready to play at this level. he averaged 58 yards per game against lincoln high school cornerbacks 1 year ago...
just being tall and fast doesn't mean you can run routes, separate from D1 corners, or have good hands.

this is the easiest game left on the schedule. don't see how we lose if we just take care of the ball.

Rhule straight up botched the transfer portal and there's no other way to put it. not really surprising given that he was in the nfl the prior 5 years.
lucky for him the bar is extremely low and we have a really easy schedule, but it's going to be extremely crucial he finds some skill players in the portal this offseason.
if rhule makes a bowl game this year, he probably guarantees himself he'll be here for at least 4-5 years.

I blame NIL
if anything this should be helping nebraska... nebraska football is one of the most marketable brands even when we are bad.

I'm shocked at the people wanting sims to play. there's a 4 year track record of him sucking. Haarberg is winning games even with half the offense injured.
need to get a legitimate wide receiver and running back in the portal and this offense could look a whole lot better next year.

Haarberg is 3-1 vs sims 0-2. sims whiffed on his chance to be the permanent starter

Haarberg has only had 3 starts vs sims 30 starts, and he's equally good as him at the very least. you have to keep getting Haarberg reps and assume he's going to be the starter next year. Sims couldn't even beat minnesota or put up any points against a horrible colorado defense.

i think Haarberg will be the starter for the next 3 years. he will have way more weapons next year, a better o-line, and have the experience.

this doesn't seem very relevant. baylor had lost most of its talent in year 1 and temple is temple.

might sound stupid but this feels like a must win game for the short term future of the program. illinois is equally as bad as we are. no reason we can't win. if rhule can't outcoach bielema then he's probably not gonna make it very long here.

Why would he? Colorado has given up 90 points and 1020 yards in their last two games which unsurprisingly were both losses.

maybe post a relevant stat to the topic at hand like passing yards between nebraska and colorado
i'll do it for you. CU 1784 vs NE 697

does he pick us over colorado if he could make that decision again?

I honestly thought Haarberg looked pretty good. Not sure why they never called the designed QB draws for him that had worked so well. There were some big gaps for the taking on those drop backs.
Seriously. I'm not kidding. HH threw some sharp passes today. Coulda done better with better parts, and maybe more than 40 frikkin offensive plays.
i think it needs to be seen how Haarberg progresses the rest of the season against some of lower level big10 teams. If he looks good then I think you can build around him in the offseason. If he struggles then I think you have to look at adding a starting QB in the portal.
simply put satterfield needs to be on the hotseat. 10ppg in 3 power 5 games is awful.

no doubt we had some great players in the last 20 years, but the identity has not been there the last 20 years. we have no idea what type of football team we need to win. in the 90s we knew what needed to be done to win and recruits knew exactly where they'd fit in here.
Steve and Bill blew everything up just because solich went 9-3, and they wanted to make their own legacy instead of continuing the success osborne built

Somehow I’m not thinking Jamaal Lord and Joe Dailey were the best dual threat QB’s available.
jamaal lord ran for 1412 yards in 1 season

bill and steve are responsible removing the identity of the program.
we were able to get the best dual threat QB recruit and best running back recruits every year until they decided to instill a pass 1st offense.

Money talks. The boosters can't hold up the "sell outs" any more and have been grumbling about doing so for years now. This sizing down to 70 some thousand fans is closer to the real sell outs. Calling it "renovation" is not a lie, but it is a nice piece of PR from Master PR Man Trev Alberts. There's of course more to it but that's the kernel of it.
we won't be able to sell out 70k seats at the rate things are heading.

Basketball basically sells out every game and they haven't consistently been good for 30 years. The actual attendance doesn't reflect the arena being sold out, but their 2022/23 average attendance was almost 15300 (10th in the country) with a capacity of 15500.
are you serious? i was at a nebraska minnesota basketball game a couple years ago that was 1/3 full

I'd argue a mistake was made in adding the 600 level on East Stadium 10 years ago (suites and club level were fine). Ever since then we have been trying to reduce capacity.
From 1972 to 2005 announced attendance was around 76k. Getting back to that range sounds fine to me.
i don't think attendance would be a problem if we were good. i don't remember ever struggling to sell tickets when were a top 25 team.
i don't think volleyball would sell out every game if they weren't one of the best teams every single year

Sims vs HH
in Husker Football

the problem is tommy, taylor, adrian, casey never improved from their early years. with proper development HH could improve from where he is now and be a good dual threat qb.
