  1. I'd agree that Clark has become a bit too big for her britches. She has done some things the past few games that I would rather not see as far as taunting. That said, overall the Iowa team and coaches have been classy throughout.

There used to be a winning team back in the 80's and 90's that would actually applaud the opposing team after they got slaughtered on the field. I always though that was pretty classless. It is odd that since they have been losers for the past 20 years they gave it up! Not only do they not applaud, BUT, much of the stadium has been empty at the end of most games. Disrespect will always catch up with you!

Good luck to the Iowa women tomorrow,  I'll be rooting for them.  The scoring comparisons are quite silly between the sports but the best one I heard was "That's how they teach all sports to score at Iowa, in 2's and 3's".  I laughed.  :cheers

When ANY B1G school, in any sport, beats the SEC, it is a good day!

Since no charges were ever filed, by your logic that person must have been innocent.

Oops, misspelled "soul". It was awesome that you all picked up on it as it was a great way to divert from the stat that I shared of Caitlin Clarks 3 point percentage vs the Husker winning percentage.

It was a different time when Tom kept a players gun "safe" but it does not negate it. It is no secret that Tom had his way with both law enforcement and the local DA. Is there any way that Philips even dresses for a game today, let alone the national championship game. That all said, Tom was not alone, there were many crooked coaches back then that would do anything to win, including selling the SOUL of the program.

With that, I really do hope that Ruhl has some success turning things around. I believe that he will.

LOL….your own quote says they were dismissed because they reached a settlement. That doesn’t mean they are innocent.

There was no evidence to back up the claims. Read again, at the time they were dismissed there was no settlement.

Now, how about keeping a Head Coach keeping a players gun in a safe just to aid in winning. Selling your sole out cost 20+ years of living in the gutter!

And remind me how this changes the fact that Nebraska has had a horrible football program for longer than any current players have been living? While I hope that Rhule turns it around, the Husker football program has been an absolute embarrassment.

Here is a Caitlin Clark stat. This year her 3 point percentage is at 39%, which is about 5% better than the Husker football winning percentage over the past 6 years! GBR???

Soooo…..fire the AD and not the coaches that allowed the problem to exist.  Interesting.

I would never expect for you to use something as cutting edge as Google, but, the coaches were all dropped from the lawsuit as there was no evidence to keep them in it. Somebody figured that it was cheaper just to settle up with a bunch of washed up "has beens" that could not make it in the NFL.

Would you like to discuss a head coach that once kept a gun in his safe that a player used in a crime? Your absolute hate for Iowa definitely blurs your vision!

Barta, Ferentz, his son and offensive coordinator Brian Ferentz and former strength coach Chris Doyle were dismissed from the lawsuit last week, which signaled that a proposed settlement was imminent. Kirk Ferentz said in a statement he is “greatly disappointed” in how the matter was resolved

  7. I am betting that the Huskers win 6 next year. Which ones I don't know, but I believe that a renewed enthusiasm will make marginal players better. Maybe not great, but certainly better. The stupid "coach calls" will not cost any games either. Better strategy, clock management, timeout management, coach management, and player management.  The lack of late drunken night out with the buddys along with the young women wont hurt either. Ruhl is focused.

I did too. But I was a kid and I’m not the guilty one, so the shame is not mine. And I don’t remember the DB incident. I remember most of these incidents, but didn’t realize(or care) about that magnitude of them. Reading them with old and wise eyes makes me nauseous.

The assaults on women are the worst and his disregard for them is disturbing. I think his name should be removed from the field.

more than winning by butt. What a fraud.

Wow, spot on!!! Maybe in some kind of way it is TO's lack of morals that the team has been paying for every since.

Prolly doesn’t deserve its own thread but F it. Can everyone crowd source URLs to the Iowa fan boards? Gonna let them know how great it feels knowing we spoiled their title game chances while we’re in the midst of our worst era ever.

If anyone wants to gimme ammo, post it here. It’s some dirty work but this guy right here is f’n hammered and up for the cause.

everyone can post except for @The Whalewho is clearly Kirk firentz’ son who didn’t get a spot on the cockeyes staff

I hate to steal your thunder, but "in the midst" typically refers to someplace in the middle. If your team has been in the dumpster for 20 years and that is "somewhere in the midst", you can count on another 10-20 years of pretty much be irrelevant, other than an upset every once in awhile. I understand that this is just your myopic viewpoint and most good Husker fans feel they are "not in the midst of the worst era ever", but in the "infancy of an era of great success".  I hope that you can reword this once you are sobered up from being "f'n hammered".

I do wish the players, team, and fans great success moving forward (well, maybe except for one game a year!) and it seems like Coach Ruhl is a great dude with the right attitude.

    "I consider Scott a friend."

May want to consider him a mentee.  Scott is no peer of Rhule.

Scott Frost has made Matt Ruhl a rich, rich man with almost nothing to lose. I'd make Scott my best buddy if he could do that for me too!

Good luck to the Ruhl era! Hopefully the Husker swagger can return!

I congratulated your team, coaches, and fans in another thread. I will always hold Coach Joseph in high esteem as he was put in a tough spot and took a huge risk this year. In my opinion, it would be in the Huskers best interest to keep him around at some capacity.

That said, it is amazing that when you do finally win a game, people lose their minds. Jeeez, act like you've been there before, and you will be there again. So much hatred on these last few pages. Back in the glory days, your fans NEVER trashed opposing teams after a win. You have fallen a long, long ways. I do hope that the next Coach up can fix it, but I am now not sure...........

  12. Congrats to the Huskers on the win today! Especially in the first half, the players played with allot of pride. It was good to see for Coach Joseph, the team, the school, and the fans. I am also thankful that you kept the Hawks away from Ohio State in the B1G Championship game, as it would have been a bloodbath. Whoever you next coach is, hopefully you will find success, just keep your ego and personal goals in check, as it may take some time.

  13. Actually, it has been said that the Hawks could score more if we would just punt on 1st down, every single time we got the ball (or kick a field goal if within 45 yards). When our defense on the field is when we score! A win for the Hawks will result in winning the West, just to play in a slaughter house for the Big 10 Championship. The weather is awesome for Black Friday, so I hope to see you all at Kinnick Stadium today! I will be the guy wearing black and gold!

Didn't know Iowa had a 'best offensive player'.

Yes indeed. That is contrary to the entire Husker team and coaching staff for the past 20 years that has been "offensive". Offensive to every single Husker fan!  I hope that the turnaround starts with a new coach announcement soon. The whole "frost Warning" thing 5 years ago did not work out so well.......

If there are no students who will be watching the nebraska sidelines to make sure they wave to the hospital?

I don't get it. Unless you have been under a rock, or just hate Iowa that much (or maybe both), "The Wave" has been recognized as one of the best sports traditions in the country. Yes, better than littering the countryside with a bunch of red balloons and better than the fake "sellout streak".

We will see you at Kinnick on Friday (assuming you are one of those great Husker fans). Be sure to show your hatred by sitting on your hands at the end of the first quarter while everybody else stands and waves at the kids that may be in the battle of their lives. In fact, it would be REALLY awesome if somebody could start a movement in which every single Husker fan in the stadium, along with the team, would just ignore "The Wave". Maybe that is how you could show your dominance, as for the last 20 years you have not shown it on the field. Yes, indeed, that would be great if every fan and the team would just boycott it.

See you at Kinnick on Friday!

  16. With nobody really wanting the job, I hear rumblings that Brian Ferentz may be moving to Lincoln, but not until his powerhouse offense at Iowa completes their bid for the B1G Championship. There may be more chance of this happening than an Urban, Sanders, or Fickel. We would sure miss Brian, but we would be good with the decision so that you would at least have a head coach.

  17. For those of you coming to Iowa City, have a great time! It would be nice if this game was earlier in the  year so that tailgating would be in full force and students were still in town, but it is what it is. I hope that all of the Iowa fans shows Coach Joseph the respect that he deserves being put in such a tough spot this year. With any luck, this will be your last game without some real direction in your program. Hopefully a HC will be named soon and the arduous task of a rebuild can get under way. Drive safe!
