If you think that's Urban Meyer then good on you.
What value(s) of Urban’s conflict with NU’s?
-
If he doesn't come because of this, then we never had a chance anyway. Hopefully he waits to see who we get, but I'm not losing any sleep either way.

Anyone want to talk about the huge scrape down the side of the truck?
I don't know, but the dude in the mask there at the end of the clip looks guilty as hell.

Who knows maybe Frost fell on his sword and agreed not to drag it out two + weeks
I could see him doing this. I really hope there’s no animosity.

Trev screwed this up big time. I think it was obvious to many that Frost was not the right guy last year. Why restructure his contract and keep him around only to fire him before October 1. We essentially lost an opportunity to bring someone new in this past offseason which would have given this whole season a different look and feel. Instead we are now left with another lost season of Husker football and it's only Week 3.
Don’t blame Trev exclusively. Word is, he had pressure to give Scott one last chance.
-
Trev will look for an established or proven current or former HC before selecting an up and comer. It’s what he did for UNO hockey and it worked. Why wouldn’t he use the same “blueprint “ in this case?

I'm looking through the lens of a very bad period...i didn't mention championships, by winning I simply meant I just want to win 6-9 games a season so we aren't a laughing stock anymore
We can and will get back to 6-9 games. I trust Trev with this next hire.

Frost has left me feeling snakebitten. I just don't see how any coach can win here. I want to believe it, but i'm struggling. I'm just not feeling good about the program in general.
Winning championships? No, Probably not, but Iowa and Wisconsin have been consistently putting up winning seasons. If they can do that, no reason why we can’t.

Way too late. Chins and most everyone else should have been fired after 2019. It’s painfully obvious that there’s essentially nothing Scott can do to save his job now. Other than winning out, which we all know isn’t happening. Scott exits 10/2. Whipple or MJ get the interim tag and the season plays out and hopefully we beat Iowa.

Tired of all the blaming. We have now hired and fired so many coaches who we deemed as idiots, and some were, but I am wondering who is laughing more right now.............those guys or us. We blamed the Big 12 and Texas for us losing, we go to the Big 10 and everyone that matters kicks our a$$ all the time. We blame the Big 10 for poor scheduling and effing us over year after year. We suck in all male athletics right now. We are a nobody right now and have been for nearly two decades. I don't see us getting a great coach to come here. Frost is done. He isn't any better than Riley or Callahan were. I am wondering if thats all on him or if it isn't on the school at this point? Hired and fired alot of guys now(assuming that Frost is done after this season) and we keep getting the same result. Common denominator in this conversation is us and the school. Its time to let go of the good ol' days and hoping we win 11 games a season again. Thats clearly behind us. The whole country can see it, but we can't yet. Boy I hope I eat crow in a couple of years because of this thread, but I am not seeing this thing ever being a whole lot better. Might see someone get us to 6-6 or 7-5 maybe, but not going crazy and thinking we will ever go 9-10 wins again. Something is broken here. K-State wins most every year, Kansas is getting better, Iowa St is winning games each season, Iowa is always beating our a$$, Mizzou wins in the SEC, but we are in the worst division in college football and can't win 6 games a season! No matter who the coach is............Yes we lack a good coach. The common thing for all of these schools is a good coach. Why can't we find that guy? Why? I am afraid that this job is tarnished to a point that if you even are an up and comer, your not coming here at this point.
Look at it this way. When was the last time Nebraska had a good, competent AD? TO was a stop gap, so he doesn’t count. Plus, he’s a coach, not a true AD and his hires generally didn’t pan out either.
Here’s to hoping that getting Trev here will end 20 years of piss-poor leadership in the AD position.

Unfortunately, he got injured tonight. Looks like a collarbone. I feel bad for him.

I'd sure like to know where these 6 wins are coming from, because I sure don't see it.
If the D can improve tackling and the newcomers on the D line add quality depth in a hurry, I could see Georgia Southern, Indiana, Illinois, Rutgers and Iowa.

You know what the issue is with the close part? They've been close because they actually have good players, who at any moment can go make a play. The issue? They are not developed or well instructed on how to operate when those things aren't happening. That's the lack of consistency that hurts this program. Some positions get developed, others don't. Some positions stockpile talent, other's don't. Pure hodge-podge.
This is exactly right. Take Iowa and Wisconsin. The two most consistent teams in the west. Other than maybe a bad QB ( like Petra’s), there’s virtually zero drop off at any position year after year. It’s reload every damn season. We simply don’t do that. We relied on a handful of undrafted NFL free agents to keep us close in every game last year. Now they’re gone and it shows.

I’d wager that the first time our record dips below .500 after October 1, he will be let go. A .500 or better record probably delays things until after Iowa. Just my gut feeling.

Good win. NU powered through adversity. Maybe it needed to happen this way if they want to play in that building in December.

Bad excuses by Sam. Creighton is playing really good. Nebraska is playing like they got punched in the mouth and don’t know how to respond.

Nebraska cruised in set one. Then, It’s been mostly bad VB for the Huskers since. Creighton is playing like they want it more.
-
Wow. Nebraska getting outplayed in pretty much every facet of the game since the end of set two.
-
Seems like a strange situation. But good size and would be good to keep the Buford pipeline flowing.

99 looks like he’s carrying 40-50 lbs of excessive weight. Too bulky perhaps.

What do you think? Think he’s ever going to see the field if he whines? It appears the worst thing you can be right now is a ‘frost guy’.
I don’t think HCSF is vindictive like that. Plus, the way things are going, Coach’s days at Nebraska may be more numbered than Rhamir’s.

He’s already not playing on offense. What’s there to lose for him?

I’d feel somewhat optimistic about the offense if this were game one, season one of the regime. But it’s not. Hopefully our strong NIL can keep our best dudes for next season. Iowa tackles waaaay better than Nebraska and that just makes me sad.

Fickell can make the playoff each year just by winning his crappy conference. He's not leaving Ohio.
Until the B1G and SEC super conferences leave the NCAA, form their own governing body and his crappy conference is on the outside looking in. Any smart, younger coach should try to get their seat before the music stops.

I guess I get your stance, but has Trev announced what values are to be aligned with? There’s plenty to suggest Frost also had some off the field indiscretions. Plus the NCAA infraction. And Trev still gave him another chance.
I hadn’t heard of Urban kicking a player. Did that get confirmed?
I’m not advocating UM either way, but we aren’t in search of a Sunday school teacher. I wouldn’t discount anyone at this point.
