  1. Unfortunately this seemed fairly predictable. Huskers getting some wins against a fairly soft schedule, hyping up this game big time, and Creighton already had their wake up call against Colorado state. Combine that with Creighton wanting revenge for last year.

Flush it, get better, and don't let things start to spiral for the season.

Our biggest problems are with turnovers.  I'm not sure 15 practices in December really fixes that.  None of the QBs apparently know how to run with the ball properly without fumbling and probably at least 2 of the 3 won't be here next year.   Learn how to protect the ball and hold it properly.  It shouldn't take the month of December to figure that out.  Any QB coach worth a lick should be able to fix that.

You don't think more practice would help a QB better distinguish coverages and understand timing and ball placement with his receivers?  I don't think it's a born instinct. They need to learn it sometime.

Maybe I am an outlier, but I would rather Nebraska stay home and reflect on our poor season, rather than back into the Bahamas Bowl or Hawaiian Bowl. It will make the boys that much hungrier next season.

Not like it matters at this point, but I don't think the problem this season was effort or "being hungry".  I do think extra practice and learning to execute would have helped. But again, it doesn't matter and hopefully they figure it out in spring ball.

I didn’t comments about no making a Heisman finalist and being mad.  Maybe you could link to those:dunno.

At least for me.  If he stays, awesome!   I think he could be productive.   If he leaves, his production SO FAR, can easily be replaced.

He could have had a better season, sure. But I'd like to see how he improves this off season.

Also of note: the TE coach position. Maybe it made a difference, maybe it didn't, but having your position coach changed right before the season can't be that beneficial.

Mitchell looks like they belong at 6 or better.

3 picks for Mitchell, Booth fumbled 3 times, losing it twice, and Mitchell's Castillo ran it 7 times for 222 yards?

Looks like they got their first playoff win in school history. That's a long bus ride home for Bishop Neumann.

They might miss the playoffs because of playing an ineligible player in the last game which resulted in an automatic forfeit by Bishop Neumann.   That forfeit makes them ineligible for the playoffs going by NSAA rules.

Apparently they aren't following that rule. They are in the playoffs. Drop from a 5 seed to the 11. Unlucky draw for the 6 seed Mitchell then.

Is that a NCAA rule that offensive lineman can't wear single digits?  Is the reason they can't wear single digits bc it would confuse defense's?

It's a rule at all levels (except 8 man football) to determine eligible receivers and linemen down field. That's why you'll occasionally hear them report as eligible in a funky formation.

Looks like we know a couple more kickoff times and TV networks.

Nov 11th vs MD a 2:30 kick on NBC.

Night game in Madison on November 18th on NBC. (I assume this game time is against the Badgers wishes because it’s too cold for November night games for the old guard B1G teams.  Barry Alvarez must be turning over in his grave.)

Wait, did he get buried alive? I swore he was still alive.

Is this being reported by an actual recruiting site, or just some twitter account with 247 in its name paying Elon $8/month that is not affiliated with the actual Nebraska 247 site?

I was mostly joking with my post. The fact that he MIGHT schedule a visit is hardly news. If he actually sets a date, then we're at least still in the conversation and it's more than just NIL and attention.

I first ran this back in 2020.  Updated now.

It's pretty crazy how down Class A was for quite awhile and how it has turned quickly the last few years.

Here are the top five prospects from Nebraska according to the 247 Composite and which class they played in high school.  Players the Husker got are highlighted red.  Players are crossed out if they didn't go to a Power 5 school (Marsh originally walked-on at NU then transferred).

    2024 - Nelson (C), Hall (A), McMorris (A), Kaelin (A), Pyfrom (A)

    2023 - Coleman (A), Flores (B), McIntyre (C), Gottula (A), Noonan (A)

    2022 - Jackson (A), Woods (A), Helms (A), Riley-Ducker (A), Stenger (A)

    2021 - Dickerson (A), K. Johnson (A), Carnie (B), Prochazka (A), Bretz (A)

    2020 - Betts (A), Watts (A), Swanson (A), Ducker (A), Gifford (A)

    2019 - Henrich (A), Hickman (A), Nelson (B), Snodgrass (B), Piper (C)

    2018 - Jurgens (B), Mapieu (B), Williams (A), Schlager (B), Stai (B)

    2017 - Allen (B), Walker (A), Bradley (A), Strom (A), Kitrell (B)

    2016 - Fant (A), Bubak (C), Stille (C), Manchigiah (A), Cromer (B)

    2015 - Neal (A), Decker (A), Holtorf (B), Johnson (A), Strong (A)

    2014 - Foster (A), Phillips (A), Stoltenberg (B), Gifford (A), Rose (A)

    2013 - Banderas (A), LaCouture (A), Minter (A), Bazata (D), Sayles (A)

    2012 - Bender (A), Ott (D), Cotton (A), Rahmings (C), Grigsby (A)

    2011 - Reeves (B), Sterup (C), Davie (B), Fisher (A), Lampkin (A)

    2010 - Rodriguez (B), Evans (B), Dietz (A), Cotton (A), Marsh (A)

    2009 - Lechner (A), Sellers (B), Zimmerer (B), Pensick (A), Davis (A)

From 2009 to 2018, only 11 class A players have signed with the Huskers and two of them (I believe) were walk-ons.  Five from Class A went to other Power 5 schools though LaCouture shouldn't really count.

Over that same time frame, Class B produced 8 Huskers (two walk-ons).  So Class A only produced three more scholarship Huskers over those 10 years than Class B did.

For perspective, using current enrollment numbers but adjusting for how many schools have been in Classes A and B during the time frame above (it was changed in 2018), Class A has approximately 238% of the number of boys enrolled in school as Class B has.

In the six years since then, Class A has produced 13 Huskers and 8 other Power 5 players (Pyfrom pending).  And there have only been 4 non-Class A players in the Top five over the last five years.

It's Nelson from Ainsworth, which is D2?
