The tea leaves I'm reading suggest that Rhule wants more money than Trev wants to pay him. If true, that's kind of disappointing.

If Rhule is out, I think the home run hires would be Kiffin or Fickell, but I'm not sure either is attainable. Especially if my feeling about not wanting to pay Rhule is correct, then you're not going to get those 2 guys for any cheaper.

I know a lot of people have cooled on Leipold, but I still think he'd be a solid hire. Runs a fun style of offense and is a really good game manager. He'd just need to hire a really good DC (maybe keep Busch as DC) and fill his staff with great recruiters (Mickey).

lol. A fun style of offense isnt what we need. Who runs a fun style of offense and is winning in the B1G other then Ohio State.

Yes it would be a big culture shock for Nebraska AND Prime.

The part that I don't understand is that I keep hearing from the Husker faithful "JUST WIN! I don't care how.......".  like every week...

We hear that coming from one side of the mouth, while the other side of mouth says "He's not a good fit for Nebraska".

I know this is all rumorville fun stuff lol.   But Husker fans be super fussy and super picky for head coach requirements + winning games.

No wonder Bo told some people off.  Can't win here regardless.

     :throw

And for the record, Prime Time isn't coming to Nebraska, no matter how.

    And neither is Urban Meyer.

    :)

It's unfortunate.  I like them both and I love turning programs around.  And winning 10+ every year.  Oh well.

Def not a culture shock for Prime. Dudes been and lived around everyone. Nebraskaland 1000% shock lol.

Agents remain undefeated in negotiating with ADs.   Drinkwitz is 15-17 (10-14 in SEC play) in almost 3 years at Mizzou.  No one was trying to steal him, yet he gets a 50% raise.

Crazy right. Im in  Madden League with a few Mizzou guys and they love him.

Actually, Lovie took them bowling mate... Lovie was let go because his offense wasn't getting it done. His defense however was as he was focusing on defensive recruits while overlooking the in-state offensive talent and I personally think Lovie would have had the same success the last 2 years that BB has. BB showed with his last 2 classes at whisky and his Arky classes that he isn't a good recruiter. That said, maybe illinois has an MJ on staff that will rectify BB's lacking. Obviously I'm "not" a BB fan. In fact, I'm disgusted even looking at his grossness.

    Great Image for any University

i guess a 6-7 record is better then what we have had LMAO.  Hell atleast Frost didnt have a WINLESS season did he?

I like how it all comes out from Whip that Purdy didn't practice 2 days last week.  Mickey had 2 chances to mention that (after the game and yesterday) and didn't.  I wonder what the reasons for not mentioning it?  Is it just that football coaches guard every detail like nuclear codes?

Let Whippy Fall on his own sword.

Chubby was so hurt he could only eye the Twin brother of the RB on defense and toss it right to him..

Brett is currently playing with Lovie's recruits. Are they performing for him? Yes... but, until he has to begin using his recruits it's only speculative in saying he's the cat's meow. People forget, many programs (Illinois being one) are filled with 6th year qualifiers. Next year those players will leave a HUGE hole everywhere.

Makes 0 sense lol..  Lovies Recruits couldn't win for him but they can win for BB. That already makes him look better.

A couple years ago Tom Allen's work at Indiana was all the B1G rage.  Now?

Mel last year vs Mel this year?

    Now Bret is the darling.

If we're honest in introspection, we're all somewhat fickle...especially when emotions are high and countenances low.

True except Bret is proven to win in the B1G. And seems to be doing it again.

I really don't care at this point. There is no unanimously agreed-upon choice. No matter who is hired there will be a portion of fans that don't like it.

I agree with you. But does Trev actually agree with us. Lol

Serious question, why do you think that?

No way in hell Husker Nation will accept Kiffin. He’s to Blount.  Twitter nation loves him. And he was seen callin some one a b!^@h last night

my choices are. MJ, Prime Time or Kiffin if we can’t steal Bert B

You didn't watch the press conference. Mickey clearly stated why they went with Smoothers then Purdy. Try the 1 minute mark if you're interested in knowing why.

I watched it and heard it.

i also heard the sideline reporter when he said MJ told him at half time they were going with Smothers in the 2nd half. But Whipple probably whines about it.

Smothers was 16-22 for 198 against Iowa last year. Purdy is Terrible.

I'd have to go back and look at last year's games (specifically Iowa), but I don't recall Smothers looking as unskilled or unprepared as Purdy did today. Obviously, I don't see what's going on in practice.

It’s obvious.  Whipple wants a Chubby and Mickey wants Smothers.  Whipple won that argument in the 3rd.

This performance is completely unacceptable after a bye week at home. That is why Mickey cannot be our next HC.

The fact that we tried to stick with Chubby is what kills me.

the performance was fine until CT went down minus his dumb INT in the 1st quarter.
