  1. Can Chris Klieman have at least some success at Kansas State after having remarkable seasons  at North Dakota State? Who knows how well he will be able to recruit in the FBS versus the FCS. He is indeed in a more attractive conference than let’s say Craig Bohl at Wyoming, who has had a couple of okay winning seasons, and they went to bowl games each season. Bohl’s other two season were a losing record and 500. Will Klieman have similar records, or could he in three or four years compete for the North Division Championship? I must be honest that I’m skeptical of successful FCS coaches doing well in the FBS. However, I give credit to KSU for making this hire, because since you never know, it could work. Can you think of a better hire?

  2. I can see the players really liking him. He strikes me as being free spirited after watching him speak before. We will see how this equates to recruiting success. I just hope Frost’s successful recruiting battles against him continue, like with Maurice Washington.

You my friend, have never seen an explosive pulling guard then. I hope this kid ends up at guard he's got good hips, light on his feet, and high motor. I know, I know, I know I just described a DT to most of you but those are really great traits to have on the Oline

If he ends up on the OL, I won’t be unhappy. I just happen to see someone who could be a great pass rusher, which we badly need. But, yes, he could be a great addition, along with Jurgens. Just saying. P.S.: I will especially be happy if Walters lets him run the fumblerooski.

All I’m saying is if we always settled for second that will be our ceiling. I’d love to see us build to the point that we compete for their plan A players and get some.

I like to think Ty is not a second. There are only so many Bama can take. So they have the nice problem on which ones to take and which ones not to. I can see where it can be a close call on their part. So the ones they don’t take aren’t necessarily seconds. Look at Oklahoma with not offering Nance — he looks like a keeper. I was being humorous about taking Bama’s backups, since they aren’t really seconds. :)

  5. Regardless, Wandale is extremely fast, but what is unique about him is his jiggerbug quickness that is rare for someone with his great straight-away speed. I wonder if he has videos of Johnny Rodgers. If he is what we think he will be, that is who many older Husker fans will compare him to. Although Johnny never had Wandale’s great straight-away speed.

Not saying we don't need that, but I see this comment a lot when we offer WR. Right now we have 3 OL commits and 3 DL commits assuming the news about Bland is true. We also added a graduate transfer DL and put out an offer for another DL to add to the 2 DE we are already after. We're also in on another OL.

Actually, I posted this before I knew Bland may still be N. Oh I hope we get Houston for sure. I’m just seeing we need all the help we can get on defense, as was apparent this last season.

Wandale has the potential to grow into an "Emmitt Smith" type back for Nebraska.

Emmitt Smith had 106 TDs in his high school career. Wandale had 87 in his Junior and Senior seasons alone (counting "other" TDs).

Emmitt Smith averaged 8 yds/carry as a Senior. Wandale averaged 9.5 yds/carry and that was down from the 13 yds/carry he had as a Junior.

He's probably way more of a receiving threat than Emmitt was also (in high school).

Wandale has more straight ahead speed though — 4.2 I believe.

A kid like this is a reason why the early signing period helps coaches.

If he signs in December, everyone will know his final decision and can plan accordingly to fill out the class.

When you think about how he committed to Kentucky when he was all in for Nebraska, it’s a pleasant surprise, but yet it’s not really surprising. Great pickup.
