On a side note, I really like the arrangement of the logos on that uniform. Last year (and maybe years prior?) the Adidas logo was off to the right and on the same line as the B1G logo. This looks way more balanced... wonder if they'd stick with it.

It may well be a lazy take and obviously he’s a decent coach.  But I haven’t seen ISU win any Big XII titles, finish top ten or be in the discussion for the playoff. That’s the type of coach I think we need. Maybe that just isn’t feasible any longer. It’s going to take someone that stands out after basically getting our pick of the litter last time and it turning out to be the runt.

Not trying to argue either way, but it is Iowa State. Historically that's a really hard place to win. Their last conference title was in 1912 and they have one division title in 2004. Overall record is 551-661-46. That doesn't mean Campbell is a God, just pointing it out.

That said, the rumors I'm most unsettled by are the alleged lack of attention to details, showing up late to practices, not making recruit calls, and fostering an environment where assistants felt they needed to go to university leadership to intervene. Frankly, this is stuff I just never saw coming. Frost talked a smooth game and said a lot of the right things. We all know his history and ties to the state. I can only imagine how stressful and how much of a commitment the job takes, and how there are probably times where you just throw your hands up and maybe take a little time to yourself. But it's also something he chose and got paid incredibly well to do. You can't half-a$$ this kind of stuff and Frost appeared to understand that, but it now it sounds like quite a bit of that may have just been talk. Kind of numbing as a fan.

Agreed. Yet despite ALL of that, look at how damn close we were to winning big games against good teams. Sorry to use the "close" word. Just goes to show what is possible with someone fully committed and knowledgable.

Possibly true.  BUT OSU (granted talent level) has not appeared to miss a beat when his assistants move up.  Might be able to attract Herman as OC/HC in waiting.  Patrick was probably reading this board!

OSU has 5 losing seasons between 2021 and 1950, and their overall record during that time is insanely impressive. They don't really miss a beat in general.

Yeah nothing like recruiting for one type of offense for 4 years just to switch offenses again... solich- option, Callahan- pro, Pelini- spread, Riley - pro, Frost spread..... gee wonder why our offense is the weak point?

I don't have a dog in the fight, but Frost's offense looked pretty good during the second half of 2018 with a lot of Riley recruits.
