  1. NEB 56 - Illinois 24 (Defense will be pathetic scheme for Illinois under Bret.)

Fordham 10 - NEB 66 (7-7 to start the game, Husker fans lose their shiz and settle down with blowout)

Buffalo 17 - NEB 42 (This team is not the team of last year (meant for both teams). Game over)

NEB 17 - OU 35 (close through the first half, NEB doesn’t make halftime adjustments)

NEB 42 - Mich St. 14 (Give me a break... This team’s defense is sliding backwards and the offense is one of the worst in college football.)

    NW 21 - NEB 24 ( OT thriller)

Mich 14 - NEB 38 (Mich is so overrated this year. They lost their #1 RB, and they only averaged 3.5 yards per last season (terrible o-line). Take away the first game, and it drops below that. Their WRs are all below 6’0”. Sound familiar? Improved NEB Defense scores 2 TDs this game.)

NEB 35 - Minn 21 (they lost a lot of talent, PJ fleck starts showing he can’t recruit)

NEB 35 - Purdue 34 (This is a huge letdown game that we nearly lose. We should throttle them with our momentum)

OSU 42 - NEB 28 (Too much talent.)

NEB 17 - Wisc 14 (frozen tundra game, tons of turnovers, Huskers finally break through)

Iowa 24 - NEB 42 (Iowa never wins another game in NEB)

Dang it... Did I just try to justify a 10-2 team? Okay... feel free to laugh

Maybe Moos admitted to hating Runza's.......Pretty sure Riley did and look what that got us.

Riley losing to BYU was his greatest sin. I had to buy and wear Jesus jammies (slang for Mormon undergarments for those who aren’t aware) for a full day during our fishing trip after losing a bet to a Mormon friend. The first and only time in my adult life I intentionally tried to sh!t my pants.

    Lessons of this story?
    1. Nice guys finish last.

    2. ALWAYS fulfill your bet requirements/promises.

    3. Never take just one Mormon fishing... they’ll drink all of your beer. (Joking... it was soda, and that’s still up for debate if it’s really a sin or not according to him. I say get that caffeine high...)

  3. ASU’s recent issues scared him off there. There are some strong signals that he is going to Mizzou. Drinkwitz is killing it at Mizzou. This year’s class is really good. They’re bringing in some good transfers too. In 1 season, he’s already changing the culture and the atmosphere. They’re bringing in kids from St. Louis that they could never land before. That’s what I had hoped to see in Lincoln 4 years ago.

Missing these kids will continue to set us back. IMO, this one hurts more than any other instate recruit we’ve missed on in the past 4 years, because it’s been long enough to reverse the trend and improve.

Why not dig deeper into FBS scholarship athletes during their HS days, those who play out of district and/or transfer high schools. Would be interesting to see that correlation

    This would be very interesting

Amy Stewarts best buddy- real piece of work. Not sure why these women think they can air their husbands and their employers dirty laundry to unstable 19-20 year old kids. WOW- talk about not being self aware. Do we really need this type of nonsense here? Program is unstable- last thing we need is more stuff like this:

It’ll be okay. She’ll end up in the wife transfer portal before too long.

    Dear Fellow Huskers,

There is no place like Nebraska.

That is a phrase I had heard so many times over my forty-year career in college athletics but never truly understood the meaning until I arrived in Lincoln nearly four years ago. How could I have fully appreciated Nebraska? To understand just how special this place is, you need to spend time here, meet our people, visit our cities and towns and sit in Memorial Stadium in a sea of red on a Saturday afternoon in the fall.

I want to share with you that I am retiring as your Director of Athletics effective June 30. Lincoln welcomed Kendra and I with open arms and we embraced all that Nebraska and this world-class institution had to offer. I step away completely content, knowing that our athletic program is reborn and rebuilt and that it has a solid, stable foundation.

Much of our work over the last four years is hard to quantify and even harder for our passionate fans and supporters to see—reorganizing the department to ensure efficiencies; hiring incredibly talented men and women to lead our department and our sports programs; polishing and sharing our iconic brand worldwide; and, most importantly, enhancing the student-athlete experience. These necessary changes have laid the groundwork for success that will soon be evident on the scoreboards, fields, courts and pools of competition.

While I am proud of reestablishing our brand, raising funds to build new world-class facilities, investing in student-athlete development and programming and hiring 12 exceptional head coaches, I am most proud of our people. The 300+ men and women who work tirelessly in our Department of Athletics to support our students and coaches and to ensure that all of you can create memories with your families at Nebraska. The incredible challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic were numerous and widespread, yet our staff never wavered, never shied away from our fundamental responsibilities to protect health and safety and then to ensure the long-term stability of our Department. I am grateful for our staff’s service and commitment to our work and I have no doubt that great things lie ahead for Husker Athletics.

Finally, I want to thank you, the most passionate fans in the nation. I have been so fortunate to work as the Director of Athletics at four schools and I have never—ever—witnessed and experienced the passion of fans like we have at Nebraska. Your unflinching support of our programs and of our university is inspiring and unmatched. I have visited every part of our great state and engaged with thousands of you over the years, and there truly is no place like Nebraska.

I will continue to cheer on the Huskers from afar and Lincoln will always be a part of our lives. Thank you all for allowing me to serve you.

    Go Big Red!

I just like the fact that he put a dropped pass in his highlight tape.  I would do the same thing.  "hey look at me drop this dime and the receiver not catch it".

Is that a remix of Sade he has in his background music in the video? It makes sense, because it’s the only thing slower than him running. He should have gone with “Smooth Operator”. Oh well...

I refuse to be nice to a school that still claims to have the biggest drum in the world when in reality its been the 5th largest for like 30 years

Seven feet three inches in diameter and three feet nine inches wide. Made by the Leedy manufacturing company in 1921. A paper from August 6, 1921 shares the dimensions. It’s the only known place the dimensions were recorded, as Purdue made it a “trade secret” upon receiving the drum. That means both Texas and Mizzou have bigger drums, by far.

Next time we play Purdue, I expect someone to have a sign that says: 7’3” x 3’9”

  9. 8 teams with relegation is the answer I’d love to see. Hear me out before you throw me out -

In my ideal state - Each Power 5 conference is connected to a group of 5 conference:

    ACC to AAC

    Big Ten to MAC

    Big 12 to Sunbelt

    PAC 12 to Mountain West

    SEC to C-USA

The worst team every year in the SEC drops into C-USA, but (the exciting part!) the winner of C-USA moves up into SEC. If there is a tie for last place... bowl game (or should we call them Blow Games)?

    Why in the hello Carl?

This gives an opportunity for those group of five teams to develop into something bigger. It creates an opportunity for them to compete on a bigger stage, make more money from TV deals, and creates some crazy incentives for those bottom feeders who are always at the bottom of each P5 conference to step it up.

Relegation = parity. Most importantly, every game matters in the regular season again.

    Time of Possession

    Season average - 28:42 minutes per game (93rd in the nation out of 127 eligible teams in '20) -- 28:54 in '19 (85/130) -- 28:02 in '18 (104/130)

    -- Home games - 23:49 mpg (123/127)  -- 26:36 in '19 (122/130) -- 28:25 in '18 (97/130)

    -- Away games - 31:37 mpg (T-32/127) -- 32:07 in '19 (18/130) -- 27:35 in '18 (109/130)

I believe there is a correlation between time of possession and success, specifically with our defense. The longer our defense is on the field, the more likely we are to give up points. Also, the longer our offense is able to hold onto the ball and sustain drives, the more effective our pace can be over four quarters.

It was not a coincidence that Rutgers was gassed this past game as we held the ball for nearly 40 minutes and ran 86 plays. If Frost & Co. can solidify the formula for the possessing the ball and churning out first downs while occasionally mixing their penchant for home run play calls, we should be much more effective long-term.

This is a great catch. Time of possession is huge. I had no idea we had that many plays against Rutgers, but it sure did feel like we had the ball a lot.
