    Easy, there ol bud.

there were 5 really big plays that swung the game for Illinois:

INT overturned, long pass down sideline, dumbass play by CTB, terrible throw by AM in the end zone, fumble returned for TD before half. 5 plays.

4 of those were “mistakes” by us, given to them.

I know we do that on the reg and it’s Frosts M.O. at this point after 3 yrs and 1 game. It suuucks.
it’s on him to coach pliers not to do stupid s#!t.

my guess is he looked at the tape (for a long time) dissected every play and how each play had the “damn, we were close on that one”.

after his disastrous presser, I’m glad and hopeful he see’s the tape and can visualize his team being good and getting better.

Yea, we have always been a handful of major big massive mistakes away from winning the game for four years now.

Lets be really clear....we the fans are not asking for Alabama level of play here.  We are asking for things to happen that normally happen 99.99% of the time for every other team like....don't field the ball for a safety or make your PATs or don't throw the ball right into your opponents hands or don't drop the ball on the ground right in front of your opponent or run the ball in the red zone or don't go 3 and out 90% of the time on offense or score points in every half or manage your time outs and clock management to win rather than lose etc.  In other words we are asking for minimal competent game management by the coaches and average performances from the players.  We are not asking for perfection nor do we expect perfection (90s level or Bama level) probably for the rest of our lives.

    As the World Turns.

Scott must have missed those meetings.  Matt Lubick will be a massive upgrade as interim, if that tells you anything.

As each day passes, it would appear that there are some issues going on within the walls of the stadium that are starting to come to light.....

Betts sitting for poor practice habits- Wouldn't/shouldn't this have come up during his recruiting

Lubick saying they had a plan if they came out in an even front

    Frost being "late" to practice

Someone leaking the analyst practice to the press

Maybe, just maybe the culture problem is Frost........

Ding ding ding, tell him what he has won!

After reading what Lubick said, does anyone think there's a chance Frost is just playing with the media right now?  If one really thinks about it, both could be right.  Let's say they had two play sheets.  One was for an odd front and one was for an even front.  Frost was exactly right that 50% of the play sheets got thrown out the window when Illinois came out in an even front.

The problem is that Frost was using this as an excuse for the poor performance.  If either one is anticipated, then why not be fully prepared for both?

Ha! When the heck has Nebraska gotten this? As far as I can tell we aren't going to have this anytime in the near future either.

Iowa has not played OSU since 2017 which they lost 54-24 (they play them in 2022).  Meanwhile we have played OSU in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and will finally get a break from playing them in 2022 and 2023 which will line up perfectly with our new HC coming in and not getting blown out by OSU right out of the gate.

A long term proven HC from a proven program?  Feel free to name some names because im blanking on who would fit the bill here and realistically come here if they were already at a solid program

You would be surprised how many ears would perk up when the words "6-7 million dollars a year" are spoken.

We lead the nation in the most talented players who don't play because of practice.

How does Frost know that practice translates 100% to game day performance?  Has he cracked a code that nobody else knows about?  There are players who may have size, height, and speed advantages over everyone else on our team but are sitting out the game because they did not look as good as someone who is slower, smaller, and shorter during practice?  Not only are we shooting ourselves in the foot with major blunders which causes us to lose games we should easily win, but we are not even fielding the best talent that we recruit.  What a mess.

Given illinois is projected to be towards the bottom of the Big10, I honestly dont see how this team reaches 6 and 6 without a drastic turnaround.  If they do, there's no way we get rid of frosty.  At this point, a 6-6 would require wins against a couple of: Michigan/Iowa/Wisconsin... wins there would go a long way to give him 1 more year to figure this s#!t out

There is no way the team that was almost blown out by Illinois and BB who has not been HC of a football game in 3 years and who brought in a back-up QB who was rejected by Rutgers is going to have even a remote shot at beating the likes of Michigan, Iowa, or Wisconsin.  Trust me when I say this....Every. single. fan. coach. and player in the B1G is rooting for Scott Frost and co. to 'have a little more time'.  Because as time passes we are getting worse.  Time to stop the bleeding and put the fires out and start a rebuild with a long-term proven HC from a solid football program (we have not had one of these with Mike or Frost).  The Frost Titanic is sinking and there are fans on the deck saying "why are you leaving!  We can still save the ship!", meanwhile Captain Frost himself is already in a life boat.

I get it, I do, but they practice in the morning and do pressers right after at like 11am.

And what is the difference if you show up at 6am and leave at 5pm, or show up at noon and leave 11pm.

Either way, this is what happens when fans start to get upset, everything becomes a big deal.  But I think there is only about 3 more months of this and then a coaching search.

Pretty sure the failed Frost experiment comes to an end after the OU game.

Ehhh, this part is just being catty, who cares what time they show up.  They are not working at Hy Vee and have to count their drawer by 8am.

Frost is getting paid $96,153 PER WEEK.  He should be the first to show up and last to leave every time.  TO would typically be the last to leave Memorial Stadium (late in the evening) besides the janitors/security after a home game.

-Have a game-changing interception turned over with 30 yards of unnecessary penalties.

A gift from the B1G Admin.  Many more to come for us burning the bridge between NU and the B1G.  One more thing to thank Frost and Moos for as they each drive away with a semi-truck filled with cash.

As dumb of a thing as that is to say, it's even more mind numbing to thing that a head coach, someone who has learned at the altars of Bill Walsh, Tom Osborne, Bill Snyder and Chip Kelley, can't adjust to a 4 man front, the most basic and common of all defensive fronts.

It is painfully obvious Frost does not want to be here anymore.

  10. Bottom line:  Frost cannot coach into success at this level.  He would be a minor conference super star, but at the big boy power conference level, he just cannot do it.  He has been out-coached by brand new coaches many times now and the majority of the B1G coaches do circles around him.  We have to find a guy who can hold his own and coach his way into victories rather than defeats.  Endless massive mental blunders by upper class men is indicative of poor coaching.  I predict an immediate change in the quality of football we see on the field when we get a new HC (take your pick).

It would be interesting to know how many teams, over the course of a 12 game season, will do the following:

Field a punt for a safety

    Miss 2 PATs

Have a fumble returned for a TD

Have 30 yards in penalties on one play

Have 2 punts travel less than 30 yards

Mistake 1st and goal for 4th and 1

Nebraska did all of that in one game.  One game.

    Just my opinion.

I don't see Mitch walking away from from Jim who wins them on average 9-10 games a year.  He is their Bo, and they have witnessed what happens to your football program when you send off your 9-10 win golden goose as we did.

Says who?  Are you basing this on unsubstantiated rumors or a certain new member who created a now locked thread?

How many struggling football coaches in NU history have had a new boss (AD) come in and have also kept their job the following year/season?  Not many.

If Frost gets fired this year, this will be the biggest reason why!

When Frost gets fired this year.

    FIFU.

My personal prediction is right after OU drops 70+ on us.  Matt Lubick will take over as interim HC for the rest of the season and my W/L prediction posted in another thread still stands.

  15. We lost by 8 points.

Britt gifted them 2 points for a safety that should of never happened.

The Refs gifted them 7 points (reversed an interception because we touched their QB???...what a f&*$%#* joke!)

Lost two points because we cannot make the point after the TD.

Score minus all of the poorly coached/refed bulls&$%   NU 24    ILL 21

Forgot about the scoop and score that our first ever 4 time Captain gifted ILL so score would actually be:

    NU 24   ILL 14

Defense played well enough to win the game.

Offense played s*&$^# enough to lose the game.

Special teams continues to be terrible.

We continue to make MASSIVE mental errors that cost us wins.  I think we are all in agreement that this is solely on coaching.

    Same ole same ole.
