I appreciate what Deion did at Jackson State as he tried to raise the profile and $ for a HBCU. However, if Deion isn’t about himself, why does he insist that everyone (including the media) calls him “Coach Prime”?  You can’t call him Coach Sanders, or if you know him personally, Deion, you have to him “Coach Prime”. That ego and narcissism may work in high school or the SWAC, but it won’t work long term in Power 5 college football.

are you joking? p5 coaches dont have egos or narcissism? hahahhahahhahaha

If the comments that Stai said we’re not even considering Urban are true - I know everything I need to about this admin’s commitment to winning. How on earth can you not even consider a coach that’s won NCs at two different universities?!

Expect another underwhelming hire and expect more Nebraska fans to find others things to do on their Saturdays.

Either act like a blue blood or concede that status. I can’t imagine half our fan base will be willing to put up with aspirations to plateau as a mid-tier program.

exactly. urban wins everywhere (except NFL).... could be like Saban to Alabama..........

Eh. Not exactly. It's kinda how these things work. You gotta chase rumors down to verify them. The act of chasing rumors down typically gets you labelled as a trouble-maker by the parties involved, who have a tendency to preemptively attack your character. People don't like to go on record, because they can get attacked too, lose their job, or betray a friend.

At some point you have to decide how far, if true, the rumors go to the person's character. Or if a little exaggeration means it's not really a problem. You are probably working for a publisher who loves clicks but doesn't want legal trouble. Most importantly, if you go all-in on a story undermining a powerful person, you will lose access to everyone you need as a beat reporter.

The media covering Nebraska football probably plays nicer and safer than most schools, and far nicer than most professional teams.

the media licks balls because they are scared to lose their access... then the coach is fired and they start trickling out just stupid character issues to get clicks.

    they are lame
