  1. Just got to this thread.

    Execution.

When the plays that are called work well, fans applaud the play calling. When the plays aren't executed properly, many fans (many of them who know very little about the game) complain about the play calling. I suppose as a coach it's part of the job.

Being competitive and winning something meaningful aren’t the same thing.

No one here can seriously claim the 09 and 2010 team weren’t competitive. We came 1 extra second from winning a CCG in 2009 against a team that went on to the National Championship game. That’s the definition of competitive.

Should have won in 2010 as well but we managed to s#it that one down our leg too

  3. Ohio State is as talented of a team as there is in the country. Their team speed on both sides of the ball is impressive to watch. I really can't wait to see how Wisconsin does against them. Those are 2 of the hottest teams in the nation

Fitzgerald was complaining about PI on Jackson's INT and how he would like to challenge it.  Pretty great coming from a guy who absolutely hates technology

And i wish we could throw a red flag on the "horsecollar" by Domann, or the "interference" on Cam Taylor-Britt in the OSU game. Or the uncalled PI on Wisconsin in 2016. Life's a b#tch Pat

Wisconsin game comes down to our D. If we contain Taylor we can win. I don’t fear anyone else on their offense. But that’s a big IF

Play action pass to Cephus downfield will be a huge factor. That is if UW ever passes. If I were them, I'd line up in the hippo package until we stop it.

  6. Kudos to Vedral for coming in and helping win the game. That was a really nice throw to Robinson on the last drive.

However, people crapping on Adrian for this game need to stop. I recall 3 or 4 passes in crucial positions that hit receivers in the hands and were dropped.

3 main ones come to mind:

One by Allen that would have picked up a first down. Drive ended in punt

One by Robinson that likely would have been a TD. Resulted in missed FG attempt

One by JD that would have been 1st down. I believe that forced a punt

My biggest critique of AM today is his hesitancy running. A couple times he could have run for the 1st but hung in the pocket. I'm sure he's trying to work from the pocket more this year, but he's gotta take off on some of those.

Adrian is a fantastic QB, and I can't wait for our national title run his senior year :D

He ran a 4.4 in the 40 yard dash in high school.  I'd argue he isn't slow but more out of position.

I'm not a football savant by any means, but I've noticed that Barry has taken poor angles all year, and there have been some times that he's gone for the big hit instead of wrapping up and just bounced right off.

Is it just me or does the majority of the fans just happy if we go bowling this season...regardless if it the toilet bowl. I for sure would think we made progress if we go to a fourth tier bowl and win that game. Anything above that is significant progress at this point.

On a positive note, Iowa does look beatable this season.

I'd be pretty disappointed with just 6 wins. I think these next 4 we have a chance to win all of them. If we can win all 4, we're at 7-2. Wisconsin is gonna take a great game to win. Then Maryland and Iowa I'd consider toss up games. I still think we can win 9 games but obviously the offense is gonna have to take care of the ball better than they have so far this year.

Except that it's not and it's been proven as such. Again, you're stating falsehoods as fact in the football forum--leave that s*** in the Political forum and you won't be called out.

And my panties are fine--you did an excellent job of ironing them before storing them in your dresser.

I made a joke. You're the one making it political. I'm always willing to discuss politics in a reasonable manner though. If you would like to have a productive conversation about it, feel free to pm me.

The most enraging thing of all time... even more than us getting beat by Purdue and seeing him smiling on the sidelines...

This IS the correct analogy with the mostly bare cupboard that this staff inherited. Just the EFFORT you see on the field is an indication of the culture getting turned around.

Hopefully the guys can turn the corner this year again the way they did last year. One thing I wonder with such a young team is if they have a leader in the room, specifically on offense, that could speak up and demand more from everyone. I think the defense might have a couple guys like that - Mo Barry being one, although his on-field performance hasn't been spectacular so far this year.

Yeah, YTTV does some pretty cool things. But the unlimited DVR with nine month storage is beautiful during college and NFL football season. I literally can tell YTTV to record all NCAA FBS games that are broadcast, and I can sit down and watch them all if I choose.

Also, folks in Nebraska will soon get NET and NET2 added to YTTV, and the NFL is in talks with YTTV to bring the NFL Network and Redzone channels, as well as NFL Game Pass package, to the platform. I have a feeling that the channels will be an optional add (so as to not inflate the $50/mo. price point), and the NFL Game Pass package will be an additional add.

    That would be great!!!

  13. Great teams - especially in this conference - are built at the line of scrimmage, and that's been the deficiency of Nebraska teams for 6+ years. Unfortunately, that's also the part of a team that takes the longest to improve and develop, and Frost knows that. Our O-Line is really young this year, and it's become obvious that Frost is willing to deal with the growing pains while those young guys develop and learn by playing the position.

Re: the First part, you're the one that introduced it as a joke, so you already went down that road. Don't make the joke and assume that your viewpoint is the only valid one, and you won't be called out.

And the second part, the Notre Dame ship has long sailed on and won't return to port for quite some time.

Kansas would be Oklahoma's most likely moving buddy--they were part of the original group of five, and while Kansas' football brand is for s***, their national basketball portfolio more than makes up for their football deficit and would make the B1G *THE* premier basketball conference in the land, bar none. Plus, Kansas is one of the three schools (the others being Oklahoma and Texass) preventing the GOR from being renewed for the Big XII, so they obviously have plans. Also, it helps maintain a contiguous footprint.

I made the joke because it was funny. No need to get your panties in a wad over a conspiracy theory...
