Shoot...I better call ESPN right now and order my ESPN GamePlan package for those unaired Husker games.

Oh wait...it is not 1997 and I no longer have my Iroc Z with the T-tops.

You still putting people in body bags though...right?!?!?!

    No fans.

I would assume no fans has to do more about not creating unnecessary travel as I dont see how you could not accommodate 10k fans in an 80k stadium and disperse them enough where close contact is not even possible for the most part. Sections are closed off and you are only allowed access to bathrooms, etc in your section

When I moved to the West Coast for a short time, I had to deal with a massive redneck stereotype just from being born and raised in Nebraska.  I was legit asked if we still rode horses to get around in Nebraska by someone who had a Masters Degree.  Someone said "oh" in a good way when they asked where I was from...then realized that I said Nebraska and not Alaska and then said "oh" in a bad way.  The list goes on and on.  I am willing to bet I am not alone. A long haired man making a mockery of our governance does not disparage this stereotype.

I was born in Omaha and have lived in Nebraska for 38 years, living in Grand Island and Kearney and have resided in Lincoln for 17 years now.  I have been to Husker football games going back to the early 90s.  Worked in cornfields for 5 years with family owning hundreds of acres of farmland north of Lincoln.  I am more Nebraskan than most here could ever dream of, especially compared to some larp living in freaking colorado.

I mean, gotta ask...did you show up to functions in overalls and a straw hat?...as that has never been my experience when people ask where I am from...maybe you hang out with douchebags?

We have yet to consider the damage this has done to the B1G's reputation/optics.  There are a lot of recruits out there watching the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 play this fall and us not playing will most defiantly have a negative impact on their perception of our league.  The Pac 12, to be honest does not really matter for they were essentially obsolete before this debacle.

Honestly, provided they play this fall at some point, I don't see how this has recruiting implications, etc...unless you expect the SEC, ACC and BIG 12 to pitch "we play in pandemics" to recruits...which in itself sounds funny

That may be the worst take on why 2AM slumped last season after having a very good freshman season. By “purely my observation” I can only assume you meant “ridiculous sh#t I made up or pulled out of my a$$”. By any chance did you happen to notice anything that was going on with the rest of the team that could have negatively affected his performance? There is absolutely no evidence he “got into college” the way you insinuated. Show us on the doll where the 19 year old student athlete hurt you.

    My eyes?

WTF? If you've got something to say, say it  Unfounded cheap shots on these kids is a bunch of bullsh#t. And yeah, I expect an answer or a retraction.

    Lol..ok keyboard commander.

All I am saying is he put on some pounds and looked slower cognitively and athletically, hence "getting into college" aka freshmen 15, etc and all the extracirriculars that generally contribute to that...purely my observation. Now I expect you to go back and man your post.

I watched a kid break his leg at a Deftones show there once. During the concert, its the phenomenon where everyone is smashed together, the back continues to push forward and the barrier in front falls over. The people in the middle have no choice but to fall over, it's a very strange feeling. Kid near me tried to hold up the crowd and his lower leg snapped.

Cy the Cyclone: “Went to a high school football game last night... Nobody died!!!”

In the Year 2060 - Future conversation from a Grandpa to his Grandson:

“You know, believe it or not, when I was in high school we didn’t have to wear masks! And we didn’t have to sit six feet apart from each other.. in a classroom! Together! And we could all eat in this thing called a Cafeteria where we could gather at big tables. The food was crummy but at least it was better than sitting in Study Hall. And on Friday nights, we played football! Against other schools! And they brought lots of people to the games, too! Friends and parents and family and neighbors. They actually got out of their houses and away from their Quantum Viewing Portals for a few time segments. And they all sat and yelled and screamed together and they enjoyed it! We enjoyed it!  And some of us even traveled together on these things called busses and had fun coming to and going from the games...”

Then the Grandson asked, “What was this thing called ‘The Big Ten’?”

Grandpa replied, “They were pretty good at football. It was this league that stretched from the Sand Hills all the way to New York and it had fourteen schools in it.”

The Grandson smiled. “Sure, Grandpa... It was ‘The Big Ten’ but it had 14 schools in it and it went all the way from our wide-open Sand Hills to those tall buildings in Manhattan!...You should have quit when you were ahead. You almost had me believing all this stuff you just told me!”

Grandpa paused a moment and said... “Yeah. I almost want to believe this stuff, too.”

To be fair, we've been put through the gauntlet since we got into the conference in regards to scheduling. Heck look at what our crossover games are next fall: @Michigan State, vs. Ohio State & vs. Michigan. We've played Indiana twice in a decade and Ohio State six times already. Iowa has played Ohio State twice in the same time period. I don't mind playing the big games against good teams but I don't think it's a coincidence that Iowa has had their best ever decade (peaking at 12-2 btw) while playing the conference juggernaut only twice in 8-9 years.

Just win....belly aching about who we had/have to play seems puss footing...we got into the BIG and haven't proved jack...we came in as a "BIG" name team and have not done s#!te, asking for a warmup is not us

Honestly man, such a dumb take away...its like saying "everyone was smoking in the stands and no reports of lung cancer!!!"

I want football and think they should play but I have a hard time thinking in not a sense manner. Life can go on but not to recognize the risks is just hillbillyish

Assuming there's no outbreaks tied to this weekend's games the pressure on the B1G is going to really ramp up with football actually being played successfully.

Observationally, John Q. Public is becoming less and less worried about this, even knowing full well the risks...essentially it is becoming a "LEAVE BRITTNEY ALONE!!!!!" mantra and just plow ahead. I am fence riding on this as I get both sides, selfishly I want normalcy but cognitively strive for common sense...I guess this is where 'Merica is on the see-saw

What will we be doing on Saturdays?

Looking at all the empty seats at Memorial Stadium and wondering where did everybody go? Are they doing OK? Are they healthy? Are their families and friends OK?

Looking at all the businesses around Nebraska with empty chairs and closed doors. All of the vitality and life that goes on in those places that now sit mostly silent. Wondering how all the business owners are going to make it. Wondering how many are losing hope. Wondering how many are finding faith and reaching down deep to find it.

Thinking about all the lives of students that have been changed. The classes they won’t attend in person. The professors they won’t remember. The memories of being together without worries about masks or social distancing or The New Normal or herd immunity or vaccines or graphs and projections that are mostly stabs in the dark.

The loss of being at Husker football games and gatherings that leave blank memories with empty screens instead of vivid pictures of color and sound and fun and happiness and sadness and excitement. The cheers that have gone silent. The victories that will never be won. All the hopes and dreams that are now all on hold.

So many things to do on Saturday. Everything...  but the one thing we all so much want to do that most defines what Husker Nation is all about.

    Sure...that is an option
