Guess what Lovie is probably going to do this year for the first time at Illinois that Frost has never done as a Nebraska head coach?

    giphy.gif

Go to a bowling alley, spin on his head and push the ball down the lane?

I mean, I could go do that right now...with added flare

But I get your point...Frost probably wont do that. Sometimes flamboyant bowling techniques turn the tables for the better. Like the time i crushed garlic with my bare feet and added it to stir fry...its the little things that add spice.

  2. The one positive of our crappiness over the past decade: I am able to continue watching other games after a Husker loss. Years ago a loss would have me go on a CFB watching hiatus for the remainder of the day

I think the offense can work in the B1G with a non-wimp Oline...but the D cannot be blamed solely on talent level. Chin has had these results for the past 5 years...check our 2 and the 3 previous at UCF. His scheme bleeds points...and he has shown NO ability to adjust mid game.

If our DL played against our OL, our DL would look awesome...sadly, it would be the same if our OL played against our DL

The problem I see with this argument is that there is no argument in many positions as far as depth and alternatives. There are none. There is no depth. There are no serviceable Jr/Sr backups at LB or DLine or O line. So, when you say play somebody else, you are saying play Freshmen and Sophomores. That solution is fraught with issues as well, among them being even if those guys are more talented, they are young and will make mistakes and the games will still be ugly and everybody will still be frustrated. The other thing to consider is, throwing in young talented players before they are mentally or physically ready can do more long term damage to them than good. A few snaps here or there, maybe not. But putting them in the fire and letting them get burned over and over isn't good for the athlete either. So, in some places, Scott is literally stuck between a rock and a hard place for now.

If they are physically ready to play but not mentally (play call awareness) then play em...games are already ugly, I would rather it be ugly with potential than ugly with indifference

    From another board....

Observer of practice all week says Frost is throwing out everything (play book wise)to include the kitchen sink.....

Another poster who has dinner (at least once per year)with a former HC says that Frost has inherited the worse turn around in college football.  get your programs handy, IMHO we see a lot of new faces and some newer guys with a lot more playing time.

Rumors for sure, but goes to the OP.  I honestly tempered my expectations.  I figured 7-5, maybe 8-4......Then I came to the realization we have had back to back 4-8 seasons.  3 losing seasons in 4 years.....WTH would we be winning the B1G with the previous seasons records......

We lose tomorrow, I think the team implodes ala NU 2007.  We go 4-8....

Gonna be a while ladies and gents.....

I have dinner with a former HC at least 4 times a year..so yeah

I love that movie and watch it every year.  I'm from Griffith "some clodhopper in Griffith, IN swallowed a yoyo".  This would be a cool trophy but both Purdue and Notre Dame are closer to where this movie took place.

The Big 10 should designate a game this late in the season when two teams face each other that are just 1 win away from bowl eligibility...it may not be a yearly thing but when it happens, it is golden.

Never in my life as a Husker fan did I ever think we'd fall to this point.  To where getting to a bowl at 6-6 is a "win" or step in right direction.....And a dog to a B-Ball school.....At home.

I totally thought we would get here...so I am jacked that my prognostication is completely on a Nostradomus level...winning

I've read that Penn State sets their white out game before the season starts and it's printed on the tickets.  Gives people plenty of time to prepare   That is the way to do it.

Looking forward to the alt unis but not sure about a black out for a day game.

I really think no matter how much notice you provide or even provide the shirt to the fan, we have enough curmudgeons that would refuse to participate where we could not pull it off...sad

Yes, but until you get it sponsored by the school I don't think it'll ever happen.

Yup...although I am sure there would be some type of deal, etc etc with a shirt company...the simple numbers point to a half a (+  or -) million cost.

    85, 458 capacity X (rough guess) $7 per shirt= $598k+

I'm kind of of the opposite opinion. Unwavering insane passionate fan support should not be a given; it should be earned. The fact that 90,000+ will still support you every single day no matter what might make it easier to not care that much if you win or lose. You're always safe and adored no matter what.

Exactly...at a minimum start small, no discounts at retailers
