I love how Fidone is already becoming a vocal leader.  I don’t remember a tight end ever being that guy.

But....the lord I think about it, this offense will use him a lot.  He also has influence both on the line and with WRs and RBs.  Perfect tweener position to influence everyone.

Johnny Mitchell was a loud mouth.

I hope Smothers is ready to go next year, I don't think he will start, but history shows we will need him. I don't think Luke can make all the passes Frost requires from his QBs, and Adrian has had 2 shoulder surgeries in 4 years, and missed practices due to his shoulder this year - I honestly think this has contributed to his regression.

Are you saying AM can make all the passes required ?  How many open receivers were missed this year ?

Chinander is a D-Line and a corner away from having a truly impressive defense...and honestly, the defense was our bedrock unit for much of the season. As much as I've dogged Chin in the past, he's making progress and improving the unit he's responsible for.

Can't say the same about our offense, though. And that falls on Frost's shoulders. He needs to fire himself as playcaller, hand the reigns over to Lubbick (though I'm still on the fence about him), and maybe spend more time with Special Teams (if we're not going to dedicate a coach to it) to shore that unit up.

I mean, FFS, if we can't depend on our offense for consistency, at least get special teams up to snuff to where opposing teams have to start with garbage field position and aren't getting great returns.

And Frost needs to revisit some of what he covers in practice. Discipline isn't there on either side of the ball, and that's coaching and mental acuity. That can be worked on in practice, and it should--we were our own worst enemy this season, and multiple B1G journalists have mentioned how Nebraska has the kids to win--we just can't keep from shooting ourselves in the foot.

DB is annoying.  His long winded narratives are so BORING.  I love when he interviews people.  His questions are longer than the answer.

#21 could flat out fly though.  Enjoyed watching him run.

Except when he tripped over his own feet on a sure kick off return for a touchdown against Florida State.

    Agree.

Boston College had a legitimate 11 game winning season and the players voted to opt out of a guaranteed bowl game to spend December with their families. Apparently there was a big cheer when the vote was cast. Kansas State, Louisville, Va. Tech, Stanford, Pittsburgh and Virginia have opted out, too.

Imagine committing to the practices, not seeing your family over the holidays, and having the game called off a couple days before kick-off. Yay.

I get the supposedly irreplaceable value of game situation reps, but if there's the slightest remaining hint that a bowl game is the reward for a regular season, I'd opt out as a matter of pride.

Pride ?  What is this thing pride that you speak of ?
