It's not a loss if he hasn't done anything yet and who knows if there's going to be any type of season.

The Big 10 has no plan.

Here's why I disagree - in part time play in 2018, he had 2 picks, 2 forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. We are sorely missing playmakers on defence, and Deontai has the knack. Reminds me of Dejon Gomes that way. We don't need our entire defence to be that way, but we need some. Bootle is good, but 0 picks and 1 forced fumble each of the last 2 years aren't "playmaker" numbers. Dismuke has one recovery.
Even playing much much less than many of the other defensive players, he's still statistically one of the few guys you could even consider calling a playmaker - Jojo (3.5 sacks, 4 ff, 1 fr over the last 2 seasons) and CTB (1.5 sacks, 3 ints, 4 ff, 1 fr) being probably the only other two. Maybe Pola-Gates becomes one, but Deontai has at least flashed the ability in games. I wouldn't write him off. The injury is the question for sure, but one big injury doesn't mean a guy is just injury prone.
Good points, we definitely don't have many play makers. I'm still concerned with durability and would be happy to be proven wrong....time will tell

Defend your thesis, please.
He's a one hitter quitter. One hit last year and done for the season. Once the shoulder goes it's chronic, I'm hitching my wagon to an up and comer like Noa Pola-Gates...far more up side.

Very average player...wouldn't start on 10 other teams in the BIG.

They should give money back based on team performance. Let's go after Riley as well

PJ is a joke and he will be exposed this season. 11 and 2 was all luck could easily have been 7 and 6. He will be run out of town with his stripper wife within 3 years.

Most agree with you. Pelini was a pretty good coach but the antics were just too much. That said, he averaged 9 wins a year. Nough said!!
Mediocre coach, poor recruiter.

Clester is a college graduate ? Looks like this university has bigger issues than football.

So we lost out on a 3 star player, let's get concerned when we lose a 5 star.

So far this guy isn't a proven play maker.

Crouch was a stud. He should have been elected to the HOF long ago.

He didn't do anything so you can't miss what wasn't there. Good luck at Eastern Washington.

I talked with a Official a year after the Championship game when they put a second back on the clock, and his opinion was the same.. with the caveat that the 2nd worst coach was Carl....
Officials may have Carl at #2, but the boosters wives have him at #1

Right. After finishing 11-2 overall with a top 10 national ranking this year I'm sure they just about ready to give him the boot.

That being said, he might be coaching Notre Dame or a different school by then.
See how they treated Glen Mason.

In season, I heard Tyrin Ferguson was going around with a petition to shorten or lighten up practices. Came from a place with pretty decent credibility as a former player and within pretty short time he was no longer with the team. This doesn’t surprise me to hear something similar.
Just be glad he's gone. Eventually all weeds will be eradicated.

Fleck will have been fired by Minnesota when this game takes place.

Jay Foreman and Damon Benning are two of the biggest excuse makers in the world. Foreman should just stick to coaching little girls basketball.

A coach has to have some buy-in from his colleagues and his team. Diaco was brought in after whats his name supposedly fired his friend of 20 yrs. Yeah right. Eichorst made Riley fire Banker or otherwise Eichorst did it himself and then they brought in Diaco. Diaco had no chance here, the players and staff gave him no chance. A D1 coordinator is kind of like a big time evangelical preacher. You've got to know your bible a little, but you've got to get people believing you are speaking the truth. THEN it is cash money time.
Thing is, nobody at NU even gave him a shot. No buy-in whatsoever even from the 15 people who actually knew who he was in the hallway, and didn't mistake him for a piss ant graduate asst.
I have no doubt the guy can put together a decent defense at Purdue, if they just care enough to listen, and buy some of the BS and just go with it . He will put in 4-6 yrs there, make cool mill and help the team get som 6-8 win seasons. And no one will be any the more sad. GO PURDUE boil-on! or something
You do make good points
