Most, yes...but when they are already rich and old (and had/lost their dream job) they probably are happy to stay.

Also, what does it mean that he was in over his head at NU?

Im not sure he is in over his head, so much as he wasnt much into recruiting.  I was agreeing with the fact that he wasnt gonna get us (or keep us) where we wanted to be.  He is a solid coach, not great.

Frank was in over his head at Nebraska.  He's at a 2nd tier program where he always should have been.

Agree.  He is the winningest coach in the Mac , mostly because he has been there for so long.  The great coaches leave the Mac for a better job.

Adrian’s screen passes have left a lot to be desired this year.  That needs to be a priority in the offseason.

Thank you.  Im amazed at those who cant see that.

Many times the throw is off target (its a 10 yard toss btw) and the receiver catches it, but because of the s#!tty throw he can only gain 3 yards instead of 10.  I cant even count how many times AM has missed on a screen pass or a short out to a TE. You shouldnt be diving for a screen pass.

I honestly don't think we'll need him like we will against Iowa but then again that's hoping that the O can keep what momentum they built against Wiscy going.

We havent won a game in a long time..i think we need all the help we can.  But if Wandale isnt ready i am glad they arent risking further damage.

I thought you said Adrian couldn't throw screen passes.

I said he barely can yea...still brings up his completion percentage if he completes 80% of them..and half of his screen passes that are completed throw the runner off balance.  Use some common sense if you want to comprende my message

Nobody is saying everything is great and nothing needs improved on. Obviously, they need to punch it in. However, we pretty much out did every defensive stat that Wisconsin had going and they are a very good defense. Statistically one of the best in the country.

Question......would have you been happier if we scored 30 points?

If we scored 30 id of been a bit happier.  Your proud of the fact our offense "outdid every defensive stat Wisconsin had going for them"...yet we scored 21 points...  are you proud that we scored 21 points? Is 21 points a solid offense?

So we have more talent than Purdue, Indiana, Colorado?  Yet we also don't?

Why are you confused? I never said we didnt?  I think clearly we have more talent than any of those schools .  We shouldnt lose to them this year, but we did..coaching imo.

That's a pretty short-sighted (if not ignorant) viewpoint.

I hear where your coming from Mav, but i cant agree that this is Rileys fault.  We have more talent than Purdue, Indiana, Colorado....i get that its more than a talent problem left behind.  Riley also left certain positions bare, and some bad development, also some bad player habits.

Yes, Riley is partly to blame for where we are, but we all knew that.  I didnt expect us to be a top 15 team.  What i did expect was a 8-4 type season with this schedule.  We have the players to beat The Indianas and Colorados...and Frost has had almost 2 years to instill his stuff.  Frost is to blame for this year, im sorry to say that cause he is a good man.

I don't remember if there was ever much of a report of what his injury is.  But the way it is playing out makes me think hamstring.  Something that's not always terribly bad by itself but is really easy to reinjure.  So they make sure to give it plenty of time to heal up before turning him loose again.

Hoping its just a strained Hammy as you say.  Im just surprised he will be out yet another week.  Best case scenario is your right, and he could play, but the coaches are protecting his well being.  In that case much respect to the coaches.

Callahan said today that he doesn't expect Wan'Dale to play Saturday.

    No reason or sources given.

I dont think this is true, but it brings to memory the comments his dad made 2 weeks ago.  I hope Wandale isnt mailing it in for the rest of the year, so he can get out of Lincoln healthy.

Again, that seems to go against everything Wandale, considering he begged to get back in the game as soon as he was injured.  But part of me wonders....simply cause i dont know what the injury was, but it didnt appear to be that bad

I think this is a good summation of the situation from Sean Callahan today:

Is there anything tangible from the last two seasons which suggest an improvement from the Riley years?

The players they are bringing in. Look at Cav's line classes and look at Austin's. Not even close. Look at Held's RB's and look at Davis's. They are building from the base up and they are managing this roster much better. Riley won with Pelini talent. He was handed a 9-win team in year one and only [won] 6. Year 2 he got the PJ Fleck 2019 schedule and got to 7-0. They had a great senior class as well in 2016. Once that senior group of 2016 left the ship sunk fast.

We already know Riley sucked.  Move on already...if you wanna say Frost has had 4-8 talent then go ahead.  But fact is we had 8-4 talent....this isnt about Riley anymore.

The schemes that the two play in are actually pretty different. In Frost's offense, the QB isn't that much of a weapon in a power run scheme. He's more of a facilitator.

In Taylor's freshman season, he had a 59.2% completion percentage and 1,631 passing yards. In his second season, 56.3% and 2089.

In Adrian's first year he had a 64.6% completion percentage and 2,617 passing yards. This season his completion percentage is currently at 59.1% with 1,711 yards and he's missed games, played slightly hurt, and the season isn't even over.

I'm not sure the two guys would necessarily do that great in each other's schemes is probably the point.

Thanks for the civil response.  When it comes to stats there are many factors.  For one, Adrians completion percentage is a lil misleading (cause there are so many short screen passes in this offense).  Also you mentioned Adrian being hurt.  Taylor was also hurt very often, probably more so than Adrian.  3rd, id be curious the rushing stats of Taylor vs Adrian.

If AM is the facilitator, he has been a very poor facilitator...im not trolling, i truly think Vedral is a better QB at this point...idk if that speaks to how good Vedral is, or how mediocre to bad AM is.

I mean this sincerely: I can't tell if you're trolling this board.

Why? I sincerely rhink Taylor Martinez was a better QB than Adrian.  What does Adrian do well? He can barely hit a screen pass, doesnt see open receivers.  At least Taylor could run the ball very well.  Does Adrian run well? He cant make anyone miss, is indecisive- turns what could be a 10 yard run into a 4 yard run by waiting 3 seconds too long, and isnt nearly as fast as Taylor was.  I mean this sincerely also...what does Adrian do well??

You're more disappointed in Adrian's play this season (when he hasn't been injured) than you are with our linebackers? Hard to believe.

Yes, because we knew we didnt have good backers.  We thought we had a GREAT QB, only to see one of the worst starting QBs in power 5 this year.  Quite the contrast from Heisman dark horse to worse than Taylor Martinez if we are honest.

  15. I want to add, as hard as i have been on Frost, i do love the guy.  He seems like a great man, a genuine man of faith and character.  Im not frustrated with him as a human being, im frustrated with him as a football coach right now.

I bet you if he was honest, he would say the same about himself.  He has really done alot of things wrong this year, and its compounded by the fact his QB has really been gonzo mentally, and many other players have left, been hurt, or been lost.  I think it hurts Frost as much as any of us, so much so, that he has a hard time admitting his fault in this (we've all been there).  He's a great man, just has had a rough year coaching football.  He will learn from this, you can see it in him...even when his pride deflects blame, you can see how much he cares and can see how he is humble enough inwardly to recognize his shortcomings this year.  There is noone else id rather have as our leader, i mean that 100%.  Thats NOT because he is a great coach right now, its cause he has the characteristics and makeup that he WILL be in time.

We'd only be on the brink if our first two recruiting classes had sucked. They didn't suck, and the 2019 class was really pretty good.

We just need more focus on the defensive side of this team and we'll be much more competitive, starting next season in my opinion. We finally have good quarterbacks and good quarterback depth and an offensive mind that knows how to move the ball down the field.

We moved the ball over 500 yards , and yet scored 21 points.  People who say our offense has been good just annoys me.  What good is moving the ball if you dont score? And i disagree that AM is a good quarterback.  Also when people blame our defense, they fail to account for the fact our offense gives them great field position half the time.  Out of all areas of our team, I am most dissapointed in our QB (Adrian), and our offensive "mind".

I looked at Scott Frost's 7 year contract as the whole deal.  I'd not be surprised if it takes most, if not all of that time to get us back to being a very good football team.  And I'm not talking about Nattys or Conference Championships every other year...I'm talking 9+ wins per year and not getting blown out in the losses....and looking like what we think Husker football should look like.

Basically you (and many others) want us to look like Wisconsin.  Thats reasonable...no reason Iowa, and Minnesota should be better than us.

Since it all starts up front, if you can’t take away a positive from the way our O-line played Saturday against a very stout Wisc defense then our little debate here is a non-starter.

Mills running so much better as the season moved on is a positive. See above as a huge positive reason why.

Penalties were down. That’s a huuuuge positive

Commentators commenting in their comments that we saw many players on defense rotating in, especially up front. Getting game reps is a positive.

A tipped pass led to an INT. That’s a tough break. But the fewer turnover problems was a good positive.

Despite the fact we have a losing season thus far, our team did NOT mail it in. In fact, after a bye we looked crisp, well prepared, and executed nicely for large portions of the game. The willingness to come in and fight v top 15 team is a positive.

Frost in his post game didn’t pull punches. Called out the defense. Said he’s tired of looking for silver linings. Still hates to lose, won’t accept it. Called on reinforcements (recruits) to line up and help/play immediately. I think him not surges coating and seeing the reality is a positive.

So, yeah. I personally see a lot of positives. Along with negatives too but I think looking at the positives and knowing they are there goes a long way to being able to then address team needs and problems in a constructive manner.

Anyone can fart at a party and clear the room. But I’d rather bring a keg of Dales Pale Ale and some sick music and keep it alive.

This is where you went wrong.  Pale Ale?? Yes keep the 70 year old white men alive with that pale ale s#!t
