  1. I don't expect the bros who struggle with concepts like rates, ratios, and proportions to understand weather vs climate but I'll post this for people who actually can understand rudimentary statistics and trends

For the ninth straight month, Earth has obliterated global heat records — with February, the winter as a whole and the world’s oceans setting new high-temperature marks

  2. I see the Russian disinformation bros are out in full force with the narrative that IS is a CIA backed organization and that they carried out the terrorist act in Moscow on behalf of Ukraine and the US.  Like this guy.

  3. More from the paradigm of democratic principles.

Casting doubt on the validity of our elections with zero proof, threatening to jail political opponents, lobbying the Supreme Court for complete and total immunity so that any action even those that "go over the line" can't be prosecuted, commiting to pardon those who violently interfered with the peaceful transfer of power, and saluting an alternative national anthem sung by the same insurrectionists while they were in prison.

But he doesn't really mean his continual assault on democracy. It's all about the context.

After all we've heard come out of his mouth the past so many years ("stand back and stand by", "you need to fight like hell or we won't have a country", "poisoning the blood of our country", etc) whether he was speaking literally or about the auto industry metaphorically the fact of the matter is that his intentions are to rile up his base to the point of violence.

I can't believe any reasonable, not gullible person would give him the benefit of the doubt at this time.  If one does want to give him that benefit, then they'd have to say he's an idiot for using that terminology knowing what the reaction would be.  He's not the brightest bulb but he does know demagoguery so I'd say he knew exactly what he was doing.

  5. VIII. Rejecting the Constitution

"Trump called for the “termination” of provisions of the Constitution, provisions that he did not identify, as part of his claim to overturn the 2020 election."

“A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution. Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!”

"Trump has promised to issue an executive order giving him “impoundment authority” to withhold funds appropriated by Congress–power that he could use to override Congress’s budget authority and subvert the Constitutional separation of powers."

  6. Once again MAGA publicly praises the accomplishments of the Biden administration all the while lying to their constituents.  I guess if they ever pass any worthwhile legislation they could skip the lying part.

  7. On a day when it's once again confirmed that the unquestioned leader of the GOP has a fascistic fetish for Hitler and that he moved boxes of classified documents to Bedminister, some might speculate, to make a nice final bedding set for Ivana, this nugget of Republican wisdom might have fallen through the cracks of the news cycle.  This brilliant idea should be further examined on it's merits.  What ever could wrong?

"Butler told CNN how he unknowingly helped Nauta deliver boxes of classified information from Mar-a-Lago to the former president’s plane in June 2022 – the same day that Trump and his attorney were meeting with the Justice Department at Mar-a-Lago about the classified documents."

“That day, June 3, 2022, Butler received what he remembers as a strange request from Nauta, who wanted to know if he could borrow an Escalade from the car service Butler ran for Mar-a-Lago. Trump and his family were about to fly to New Jersey that day for the summer, and it was typically Butler and his valets who handled getting their luggage onto the plane.”

"But it was an unusual request from Nauta for the car, Butler says, because Nauta typically didn’t handle moving luggage and asked Butler for the car in a guarded way."

"Butler says Nauta and De Oliveira loaded up the vehicle before driving it to the West Palm Beach airport. Butler arrived with his own car filled with Trump family luggage, then helped Nauta load Trump’s plane with the luggage – as well as bankers boxes of documents that were in the Escalade. Butler says he didn’t realize the bankers boxes contained anything out of the ordinary."

“I left Mar-a-Lago. I texted him, ‘Hey, I’m on my way.’ He followed me. He pulled out and got behind me. We got to the airport. I ended up loading all the luggage I had – and he had a bunch of boxes,” Butler said of Nauta."

“They were the boxes that were in the indictment, the white bankers boxes. That’s what I remember loading,” Butler added.

  9. Just the weekly reminder that if you're not a sycophant to Trump aka MAGA, a movement with zero policy positions outside of fealty to a demagogue, xenophobia, misogyny, tax cuts for oligarchs, grievances and rage politics you're not welcome in the GOP.  There's no reforming this s#!t show.

  11. Speaking of bulls#!t.  He put to shame two pros by shooting 70.  He's got nothing on Kim Jong-Il though.  In fact, Kim would have crushed him by 32 shots.

"The greatest golfer in history is gone.

North Korean dictator/superstar golfer Kim Jong-Il has died at 69

Kim Jong-Il never needed a swing coach to master the sport of golf.
Kim shot 38 under, including 11 holes-in-one, at the 7,700-yard championship course at Pyongyang in the VERY FIRST golf round of his life, according to North Korean state media. This was in 1994, when Kim was 52 years old. Even more impressive, Kim stood just 5-foot-3, yet he was able to overpower a course as long as any ever played in major championship history. Who knows how good Kim could have been if he had taken up the sport earlier? Who knows how many times he bested 38 under in the 17 years since his first round?"
