Interesting.. Looking through the rest of the post the rest of the jerseys from the other schools actually look legit. And they are all Adidas uniforms so it would seem plausible that he had some sort of connection to Adidas. Not sure how I feel about our jersey but all of the others are ok.
Also just seen the guy has 18k followers…

I thought Stephon Wynn was solid for use last year, and that's where I'm setting my expectations for Sherman. Both were highly rated guys not breaking into the rotation at the truly elite schools for various reasons. Maybe another year removed from the knee stuff brings back some explosiveness, and maybe he is very good and was just totally blocked by incredible talents. But I'll settle for a special teams demon who is a solid defender and will be pleasantly surprised if he exceeds that.
My feeling based on what I've read (and my gut) is that he can come in and be every bit as good as Caleb Tannor was and if we're lucky, maybe better. But I don't expect him to be a complete bust like Tyreke Johnson.

Geeze, 6'8"? I thought we were trying to move away from extra tall linemen like Brant Banks...
I don't think we need to shy away from tall guys just because all the tall lineman we've recruited have been terrible because, well, all of the lineman we have recruited have looked terrible. The last staff just seemed to make height a prerequisite for an offer and I don't think that needs to be the case either. Our best lineman in the last 5 years was Cam Jurgens who is 6'3.

So how does that work if they have a scholarship? Seems like the player can jump the team by going to the portal but the coach is stuck wt an unproductive player due to scholarship. They can't be cut like the NFL preseason.
They basically will say "hey, it's going to be tough for you to see the field here, we can try and help you get somewhere to play more or if you want to stay we can get you on a medical scholarship and you can continue going to school." From what I understand it's pretty easy for them to do.
Also in the new world of NIL I'd think that's going to be used as well. Take a guy like Alvano for example. We have three specialists on scholarship which would almost never happen, but the coaches chose to honor his offer because he was an in state kid (and obviously very talented). But they could maybe take Bleekrode of scholarship and try and make sure he gets some extra NIL money to make up for it. I wouldn't be surprised if we see something along those lines with a few guys.

It does sound like he hasn't gotten all the way back from a torn ACL and meniscus damage.
That's really tough when you're competing with a bunch NFL guys in front of you. It sounds like both he and Borders are going to be good additions to the locker room as well as the on the field.

Believe he was committed to MSU before then.
He decommitted in August, so you'd think he still would have been taking some officials this fall. Either way I'm guessing he'll be N. I know a lot of the guys we are bringing in are pretty raw but man this staff sure did a great job of filling a pretty empty room.

Rhule, Satterfield and Cooper were in-home Monday.
Seems like this is a likely commit this weekend.
Does he have academic concerns or what is the catch with this guy? Shows all the offers in the world but Kentucky was his only official visit.

What do you call guys like Ty Hahn? I think that was walk-on for two years then scholly after, although I imagine with the new staff that's no longer the deal. Purple shirt?
He was just a walk-on that was promised a scholarship after two years. Just a verbal agreement. Will be interesting to see if that still holds with a new staff in town but I'm guessing not..

Jacob Hood, OT from Georgia, may be a guy to watch.

Lauenstein officially gone as rumored.

Between IGC and Betts, do we need a 'Those no longer no longer with us' thread?
We'll need it again this spring after Rhule has to cut 10 guys.

I have us at 96 with those two added.
Does that include Betts as well?

I know this has been asked 1,857,231 times, but what is our scholarship number up to now with the Georgia LB and IGC coming back?
It has to be nearing the upper 90's...

Wasn't expecting this one
Wow me either. I think this is big for the WR room. He looked good before having his falling out with the previous staff.

Arik Gilbert from UGA on campus it sounds like. This would be his fourth stop. LSU, FLU, UGA, ->N
Rhule seems to like these Georgia fellas. That’s three that have visited in the last week.
Gilbert is a first round talent if he can put it together mentally.

His recruitment was always about NIL, pretty easy to figure out what happened.

Seems like it's much more likely that it's Raiola.
Or maybe it was about Rouse…

This must be false. Raiola can’t recruit.
Ope. Guess it was actually false after all. I guess we’ll have to wait a little longer to see if he can recruit someone that wasn’t born a Husker fan.

We will see if he follows through with the requirements of being a student athlete, on the field & in the classroom. I hope so, but he has done very little to prove otherwise thus far.
Although I do understand what you are saying, if he has a real desire to play they will make his academic path easy to navigate I’m sure. He’ll be signed of for easy classes, give him tutors, etc. As long as he’s willing to put in a moderate amount of effort they’ll get him eligible. They did it before I don’t see why they can’t do it again.

Didn’t see that coming a couple of weeks ago in the crystal ball
Our biggest position of need, leave no stone unturned. Would be a hell of a story if he could turn it around.

WR Malachi Coleman

I’m pleasantly surprised how Malachi has been performing at these camps. It seems more and more plausible that Coleman could get on the field at least a little bit year one.
