Well, let's see if we are stocked at lineman. Not trying to play gotcha just trying to provide some insight.

Seniors- Gaylord, Jameis Farniok, Wilson- 4

Juniors- Sichterman, Bando, Trent Hixon(should renew his scholarship)- 3

Sophomores- Cam Jurgens, Nouili*( will get a scholarship imo) W Farniok, E. Miller*(if he is on scholarship)- 4*

Redshirt Freshman- Anderson, Lynn, Banks, Benhart, Piper, Fritzsche- 6

    Freshman- Conn, Corcoran- 2

    2021 Class- Yager, Lutovsky, Prochazka-3

Possible commits- Mbow, VanDeMark-possibly take 1

So even without 2021 we are at 19. Nouili has a scholarship waiting for him and Miller is too good to not get one anytime soon. In total my numbers are at 19. Without Nouili and Miller we are at 17. We are exactly where we need to be in terms of lineman as you need a three deep plus a few more for development. This is not counting a few walk-ons who will provide solid depth as well. I would argue we are on the brink of being overstocked, but we can't just throw out many more scholarships to lineman. Other spots need to have good depth as well. In my view, we are pretty full but that is just my take on things as other positions need help- such as linebacker.

*Pending scholarship as we are under and can give a few away.

If I had to throw out some names that might departure I could see W. Farniok moving on, Lynn is young but he might get buried (I know he’s young I just like some other guys more), and I could see Sichtermsn going the grad transfer route if he gets beat out.

  2. We follow this team and these players so closely we get biased and think we’re better than we are. The proof is right here in front of us now. We have failed miserably at recruiting and developing talent and it is very clear right now via the last two drafts and likely next year as well.

OVs set to Cal, Wisconsin and Iowa State in June.

I still get the feeling that Wisconsin leads.  But we have a good track record when we have time to work on guys we really like.  If we can get rolling on the field it could be interesting.

No doubt, I know he likes it here and has hit it off with a lot of our other recruits but he also wants to win.  I think that will be the story for many recruits this fall, we need to put a better showing on the field if we want to win these kind of battles.

  4. Hopefully he commits early. Fortunate to have a bunch  great talent in our backyard for once. Thomas and Teddy, and if we could reel in Dickerson would be the cornerstone to a potentially great class.

Frost isn't going to be unhappy with Walters looking for other jobs.  Coaches know the deal with each other, and generally don't get upset when people try to advance their careers.

That’s not what I meant. I meant did frost start looking because he was unhappy with how Walters was performing or did he start looking cause Walters was trying hard to move on and found some good options. Then decided just to move on instead of keeping Walters around for another year with a foot out the door and have to deal with that in recruiting etc.

Its also certainly plausible Walters having 1 foot out the door could have precipitated SF looking for his replacement & his replacement was found before he found the job???

That's also what I'm wondering..If Frost wasn't happy with his performance or if he was just trying that hard to get a different job and Frost felt that he has just as good or better options maybe he just said c-ya.

Sean Callahan got a question about if Dawson can get us to having "good" special teams.

    His response?

Getting the 19 guys who redshirted last year and some four-game redshirts this year on the field for special teams is the answer.

I can't find it now but Chinander said basically the same thing around signing day.

This.  Love that they get a shot to see the field, but I was pretty frustrated by what seemed like an all walk-on kick return team.  I have a hard time thinking we can't get somebody more explosive than Brody Belt to return a kick.

    Really like our chances here

I sat by Teddy Prochazka and T.J. at the Indiana game, he was amped up during the game and seemed to hit it off with Teddy and some of the other guys. Will be a battle with Wisky. I’m guessing he is one of the top couple guys on their board for next year.

Compared to whom?  As a center he's at the bottom of the B1G.

I want the Huskers to win, not look pretty.  The guy gets tossed like a rag doll.  As he puts on weight he's slowed down.  There is a huge mass muscle difference from him to other centers.  Step back from the kool-aid and look at it from a distance.  It hurt to stick to him.  He's been the worst blocker in near every game last season.  Yet we expect him to lead a bunch of upperclassmen?  Nonsense.

Are you just assuming he can’t block cause he’s a little smaller?? He was one of the best blockers on the team even as a tight end which is part of the reason they moved him. I think he struggled at the beginning if the season simply cause it was his first live action at center and that’s not an easy position to play. He played pretty damn good down the stretch if you actually watched him.....

    Really look at this...

    1.  Worked his a$$ off to get here and did it

    2.  Smoked/had weed (literally no one cares)

    3.  Had a pic/video of an old GF that was naked or making love

    4.  Was mad/upset that he didn't get the ball more

Assuming that is everything...well...it is not really a big deal.  (All you SJW's relax on the child porn stuff, we all know that is not what it really is)

Every guy on the team that is not starting and/or getting TONS of play is mad (that is how it works)

They all smoke weed/drink (All you stat geeks, please realize I know that not ALL OF THEM smoke and drink)

I think you sit him down and you yell at him, kids like him respond to that, you say "You are a moron, you know that, right?" and he will agree, and then you ask "Do you want to be here, for real, do you want to be part of this or do you think you would be better leaving" he will be honest...if he says "yes" you say "Tell me what boundaries you need..." and he will say "I don't know"

Then you say..."Here is what I propose..." and you lay it out.

I think there was a lot more than that in regards to being late to team meetings, not going to the training table and stuff along those lines that frost doesn’t tolerate.

Also heard he whipped his d1@k out in front of a bunch of girls on the volleyball team and that was the last straw/“ but that may be a B.S. rumor.
