I'm a bit confused by this. Usually I've seen a blueshirt be a guy who doesn't enroll in the summer/fall like most recruits but waits until January. So they basically count towards the next class.
But he's going to enroll in January then get a scholarship this fall. So he's basically still in this class.
So I wonder if him wanting to enroll early was kind of the hang-up here? If he got a scholarship right away he'd have to count against this class but by not getting a scholarship this semester he can basically count against the next class while still being here as if he was in his class?
Yea, it is odd. I just think they're obviously trying to maximize the number of kids they can take in this class knowing they can sort it out later and he's the perfect kid to do this with. He's a local kid that didn't really have much interest in going anywhere else honestly, and with his situation he can afford it unlike a lot of other kids. I don't know for sure but but I really think he would of walked on here if he had to.

I haven’t missed a home game in 18 years and I have lived in AZ for 27 years. I don’t even want to know what I have spent doing that.
That is serious dedication, bravo!

Is he an early enrollee? Why would he need to pay for one semester if he gets a scholarship the first day of fall camp.
Yes he plans to enroll early.

He will. Pay for one semester and play for your favorite team sounds like a pretty easy decision.

Really starting to build some depth on the O-line!

That's surprising to me unless he just likes his shot at playing time elsewhere or he just feels slighted that they are slow playing him in regards to a scholarship. I don't want to say the scholarship is meaningless but his family has the means to pay his way if he wants to be a Husker. I'd be pretty surprised to see him play elsewhere but who knows maybe something changed.

The only reason he doesn't have an offer is because he is a "tweener" or at least that's been their excuse. Doesn't have the same frame as his brother, however the coaches have given him a pretty good pitch of being the next JoJo Domann in their defense, all over the field type of guy. He's a hometown kid and his family loves Nebraska, offer or not I'd be very surprised if he wasn't N.

Yep, a little better than trying to tell yourself that some two star kid is just a diamond in the rough like we've had to do in past years. I think we'll see this paying dividends in years down the road with less misses causing depth issues. Some of our lower rated kids are ones our staff took early and they feel good about.
