I can’t believe some actually wanted us to hire him here.

Not easy for lineman on either side of the ball to play as freshman but it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets on the field for 4 games next year.

Was calling for this kid to get offered quite a while ago. I’m glad we got him N.

There were rumors before he committed that they had told him if he did they wouldn't take a 2023 QB.
They now have a 2023 QB commit.
But apparently they actually had a QB commit up until a few weeks ago. 4 star Brock Glenn.

My prediction is this will be a battle between NU and USC in the end.

Some schools are recruiting him as a DB. Huskers may be looking at him as an athlete and figure out a position when he gets here.

Doesn’t seem like we are getting any DT looks. Any thoughts on that? Beefing up the DE? I’m island hopping and good WI-FI for me is spotty at best. I am amazed at how this staff is getting recruits to look at NU though.
I am a bit surprised at this as well. You'd think we'd have to bring in a couple just to have some bodies. Do we have a single DT remaining on the roster that Frost and co. recruited in the last two years?

Ernest to Michigan per his Twitter
Great for him, his future looks bright. Glad to see him end up there and not the team to the east.

Pretty negative....not all wrong, but a long way from being right. Iowa landed a back up QB and a back up TE. They have also lost arguably their best WR coming into the season... a key CB and key LB. Not sure they are in a tremendously better place overall than they were when the season ended. We knew it would be rough here after the change, but this staff is recruiting it's tail off and we are not stuck in the mud by any stretch. Things will shake out as they may....but we wont be in a horrible spot..... maybe not great, but probably as well as expected after a change.
I’ll add this to what you said. Two years down the road may be a different story and Hausmann could end up being an All-American for all we know. But as of today he was likely a second string linebacker for us.

DeColdest Crawford has deleted his tweet about entering the portal, all his offer tweets, and his tweet about committing soon. Unfortunately he is coming off a major knee injury and has yet to play in college so I don’t think he was getting the offers he may have hoped for. Also our WR depth is not great at the moment so I would think he has a pretty good shot at playing time here as things stand tight now. We will see what happens but it now appears that he may be staying.

Is there something out their suggesting he is contemplating?
For starters, I think the Rhule hire at the very minimum gave us some life because I do believe he was interested in Nebraska until Frost screwed the pooch. Supposedly Dom was here helping recruit Ben Scott which is a really positive sign. Now OSU took a QB commit for the '23 class which the word was that they told Dylan they weren't going to. That could make Raiola rethink things, or maybe they already know that the Raiola's are reopening the door to NU so the decided to take a Keinholz. But they continually stack stud QB's so it could also be completely meaning and maybe they never actually told him they weren't taking a QB this class who knows. Either way it's just a gut feeling based on reading some tea leaves that the door may be open, even if slightly.

Sounds like his visit here was.... Short.
There was no elaboration but I wouldn't look for him to be an option.
Callahan said just now that he was here Thursday-Saturday.

Apparently has a prior relationship from Matt Rhule from when he was recruiting him to Baylor and we are making a push. Extremely fast and athletic. It seems that some other teams may be more interested in him as a receiver but really wants to play QB. I feel like we've got enough projects at the QB position as the room sits now and we've been down this road with Luke McCaffery so personally I don't like it on the surface. Unless we plan on going back to running the option.

How do you know that?

“having that NFL coaching experience is something I can’t wait to get from him.”
“I can’t wait to make an immediate impact and set the new tone there with these new coaches.”
Sounds pretty promising. -

Is he suppose to visit USC?
I’m guessing he will or he has already. I don’t think he is looking to be “recruited” like some others, which is likely why nobody knew he was coming. Likely a quiet visit to both schools and a quick decision. I’d be very surprised if he wasn’t N.

Down to USC and Nebraska according to Callahan.

Scott down to USC and Nebraska per Sean Callahan.

Was he a good three year starter? Or, a Benhart type three year starter?
Was ASU’s line good?
They weren’t great. But still believe he’d be a starter (and an upgrade) somewhere along the line for us.

Great idea take no QBs unless they are 5 stars. We will be Bama in no time.!

I didn’t mean forever, I just mean with where our roster is at right now. Don’t need to take a QB unless he’s a stud as we have enough projects. Although I’d still like them to make a run at Keinholz.

Not sure if this has been discussed here but supposedly he may be contemplating reclassifying to the 2023 class.
