Why even take a QB unless it’s a Raiola type prospect. Better off saving the scholly and getting a known commodity from the portal in a couple years.

#1 JUCO offensive lineman in the country would certainly be welcomed.

Here’s one to keep an eye on. Ben Scott, multi-year starter on the o-line for ASU.

His poor play? All I remember from this board was how well he was doing as a true freshman and couldn't wait to see what he could do next year....
Eh early in the year he really struggled. Was out of place quite a bit and was missing a lot of tackles. Really played well the last couple games though.

I wonder how it soured so quickly with him. He just finished a good freshman season with us and now he’s visiting a team that our bad team just beat.
Rumor has it somebody messages his mom about his poor play play (early in the year) and he’s still very butthurt about it. It was odd he was very quick to enter the portal and had no intention to hear who the DC would be. Either way there’s no coming back from visiting our hated rival.

For better or for worse, this team is going to look different next year on both sides of the ball. Sims is really intriguing. He has good physical tools and seems to have high upside as a player. Casey is a capable runner but doesn't seem very willing. Really like that it seems like we'll have a QB run game again.

If we get a RT somehow in the portal and Bryce Benhart doesn’t play the line will be automatically better. Should be better at LG. C who knows. LT Teddy is gonna be bad until he is back to 100%.
Agree. You're only as good as your weakest link. But ideally if we could get a tackle and a guard that are both upgrades surely and Nouilli back surely we can find one more tackle and a center that are serviceable and have a decent line.

Maybe Donnie could be a decent OL coach. I also don't think he's brought in one out of state recruit since he's been here - I'm skeptical he can upgrade the talent in that room, which is obviously an issue.
Yep definitely unproven in the recruiting trail. Got some visits from Bo Hughley and the LSU commit but I don’t think either were his connections. All commits from in state. Nice to lock up in state talent but not sure all three were deserving of an offer. Fwiw rumor has it that he and Frost had somewhat of a falling out before the season even started so maybe he never got a chance to teach things the way he wanted to.

I honestly believe that the DC has been hired. They have had to signed off on these defensive position hires. I don't believe it is Snow as why not announce that, so I believe he is currently coaching still. With these hires so far, I'm thinking it is someone who runs a similar style defense that Ruhle has ran in the past if he's not another former assistant of Ruhle's.
Personally I like having a guy or two on the staff who have no prior ties to the coach that can bring a different view/opinion/ideas to the table instead of a room full of yes men that have been yes men to the same guy for years.
Not trying to be negative Nancy, but thus far I feel like a lot of yes men is what we’re getting.

At nearly the exact same time, Sean Callahan says that he expects Raiola to remain as o-line coach, and football scoop says that it’s John Garrisson.

For what it's worth, apparently Coach Brahmer was really impressed with Rhule.
Just too new, too late.
WR Brahmer is going with what he knows. Can't blame him.
That’s ok. He is likely not an immediate impact guy. Should something happen with Campbell at ISU, maybe we can get him back a couple years from now.

I guess I don’t understand the rules. Grant came through the portal and then didn’t leave within 30 days of Frost being fired, so I thought he had to stay. I’m i wrong? Or do players have unlimited transfers?
Grant came from Juco. But with Grant it wasn’t as much of a question of whether or not he’d transfer. It was whether or not he was going to take a shot at the NFL.

Reading the tea leaves it seems that Grant is likely coming back. A bit surprising but good news. Obviously I hope we can hold onto Ajay as well and each day that passes without him hitting the portal is a good thing imo.

To give some comparison, Trey Palmer got behind everyone. His 100M time was reported at 10.42. Brice's time is 10.25.

DB: Devin Neal (Baylor)
Gonna need a couple more D-Lineman. We may or may not have enough bodies for a 2-deep right now.

Interesting to say the least.

It doesn't seem there's been any contact at all with the new staff. I'd say he's as good as gone.

Looked like there was potential for a flip but apparently said he's solid to Iowa State.

I don't love that it feels like we're stealing recruits from Temple. But this staff has a ton of connections in this region so if they're recruiting him somebody has told them they think this kid can be a dude.

Transfer Portal Targets 2022

He will be N. Family is from Nebraska and wanted to be N out of high school. Was one of ASU’s lowest rated recruits and turned into a 3 year starter. Cornelius is going to be a tough pull, I’d be surprised if he ends up here but you have to take this kid regardless, if you get both great. Also Scott can play any position on the line so gives you a lot of flexibility.
