    People are tempting fate here.....

Meh, not really. Nebraska just had a run of departures earlier than other schools this season. Obviously there will be some that leave between today and August, but nothing major is going to happen besides more seniors coming back and some more going to try for the NFL and some bench riders try to get playing time at a lower level school.

That's true, though none of the experts seem to be too sure with their guesses. I feel much more confident now that he'll be choosing tomorrow, as opposed to pushing his decision back to February, which had been previously reported.

I get the feeling he already signed with Nebraska.

  3. The Big Ten doesn't have control over what Nebraska will do for the spring game attendance. I'm 100% confident the school will do everything possible to fill that stadium up as much as possible for the spring game. The other positive of doing the spring game in May is that you aren't having to deal with testing season for high school kids.

Never before have I been looking forward to spring football across as the nation as I am this year. I sure hope things are back to normal for the 2021 spring practices and season.

If fleck gets an nfl job this year, i might try and eat my phone

We should find out before the end of the weekend if he gets interviews for NFL jobs. Last weekend of NFL games for the regular season and there should be leaks of who NFL team are interviewing.

Gotta love Bill Moos’ frankness.  He’s right.  ST, penalties and turnovers Must be fixed this spring.

His comment on procedural penalties (false starts) in empty stadiums was spot on.  My feeling on this is you have either A.  Dumb players or B. Substandard coaching.  There’s no C.  I don’t care if you’re a freshman or not.  Jr high teams know the damn cadence or they don’t play.

I'm glad this is being discussed by Moos. No hiding behind the desk. Be open about what needs to get fixed and go get it fixed. No need to be sensitive about it. It's football. Fix it.

Right now they are saying it could take 2-4 months from the beginning of April for everyone to get it who wants it. There will still be restrictions in May but maybe instead of no fans in the stadiums, half full or 2/3 full. Which should be easy since it's a spring game. Then by fall hopefully back to normal or close to it.

The Big Ten isn't going to be able to restrict spring game attendance.

  7. With the ban for on campus recruiting going to April 15th, it's smart to go with a May timeline for the spring game. Recruits will be excited to visit a campus and you can use officials during this time.

The big question I have is how many official visits can be used from the current cycle since no team could use any.

  8. This thread isn't exactly going the way that the OP was overly trolling for drama effective. Seniors move on = earth shattering news. Some guys will leave = happens every  year to every team.

Nebraska already had their run of departures earlier than other teams did this end of season/off-season portal entries.

I wish him luck.  I surely don't blame him as his playing time was likely to be very limited next year.

He would have been 3rd string at both guard spots next season. He knows, and was probably told, not likely to get many snaps next year.

  10. Austin is a good coach and will continue to rebuild the OL. All you have to do is watch game film and pay attention to how Farniok struggles to get to the second level compared to the freshman that played against Rutgers that can get to the second level to see the difference in athletic big bodies that are getting recruited t the OL.

    LT: Corcoran

    LG: Piper

    C: Jurgens

    RG:

    RT: Benhart

That will be the most athletic OL in years at Nebraska.

This is just me, but I think having two LB coaches and no ST coach is a misallocation of resources which I hope gets corrected in the offseason.

Re: Offensive Coaching Staff Adjustments - That whole side of the ball was such a .was at times it made me nauseous. What I believe to be true is that Lubick did have a role in changing the make up of our play selection in the last half of season which helped. IF that ends up being true I hope he is given a larger role in the offense next season.

If we can add that AM learns how to wrap up a ball going into contact, I may actually start to feel optimistic about our potential for next season.

In a 3-4 defense it is common, even expected, to have an OLB coach and an ILB coach. The linebacker unit is getting better and better each season and Coach Dewitt got the OLB's to play better this year and I expect them to be even better next year.

We are finally getting a linebacker unit on the football field that is a Big Ten level unit.

The only main change to make is hire a special teams coach and let coach V go to make that happen.
