for your comparison...you would need to have a f#&% Alabama sign on your truck

Ok true, but that still does not give someone the right to get violent with someone. I mean the guy starts the conflict knowing that if it hits the fan he has a gun to get him out of the conflict he started.  If you're going to run your mouth at least be a man about it and if it does escalate fight the guy but don't run your mouth and then when it's time to do work you just pull out a gun and shoot him. All because a little sticker upset him. Somebody was either hugged too much or not enough as a child.

I’ve got this crazy theory about people that need to tell you how well endowed they are

Yeah I have same crazy theory about folks who run their mouth with guns.

  3. So if I am driving down the road and I have a Nebraska 95 greatest team ever bumper sticker, and some guy from Alabama doesn't like it he can the drive up to me creaming and flipping me off just because he does not agree with my bumper sticker?  Or where is the line in the sand for justifying your behavior against someone who disagrees with you?  Why do you feel you get to act that way? and what if he felt threatened and then shot you. What would your opinion be then?

Just because you don't agree with someone does not get you the right to start an altercation with them especially when you had a gun.

His original point was that having a gun make make someone do something they may not otherwise do.  He gave an example of a personal encounter.  Blame is really irrelevant.

Until someone gets shot for having a political opinion and the court needs to find out who is to blame.

So in your opinion he is perfectly fine driving around displaying a flag that tells people “FU for voting differently than I did”? But I started “the whole thing” (whatever the thing is) by replying in kind to him? That is an odd take.

You are both allowed to have an opinion on the matter you telling someone FU, is elevating the situation to confrontational levels. And the only reason why you did it is because you had a gun, which tell me right there that you knew there could be trouble but if it did arise you was prepared to handle it with your gun and not your fist like a man. You started a situation that could have ended up with you shooting someone. Do you not realize that?

Flaming is against board guidelines, which is what you were trying to do, as I have already pointed out.

It's time to move along, please. This is the only time I'm going to ask.

Again I don't know how I was  "flaming"   To be honest I feel like you are attacking me right now.

Do you regularly challenge people to fist fights? I don’t. I told the guy to FU, I didn’t want to fight him or shoot him or do anything other than what I did. And since you’re curious, bravery has little to do with it. My only point was, I likely wouldn’t have responded to him at all if I didn’t have some back up in my truck with me. I wasn’t looking to start a problem but I knew it was there if he would’ve escalated the situation.

    You started the whole thing!

    Ha - nice try.

As I said, it's not going to fly. You can ask someone a question without throwing in little quips like "if you are so brave." Please attack the post, not the poster.

Nice try? show me where I attacked him.

You are welcome to disagree with his opinion and his choices, but the bolded here is not going to fly. Attack the post, not the poster.

LOL I asked him a question.

One of the problems with so many guns in circulation is that they can reduce a person’s inhibitions and that could escalate certain situations. Like this morning…I was driving across town to get some breakfast burritos and ended up next to this knuckledragger in an old pos pickup flying an American flag and a f#&% Biden flag off the bumper. I’d never noticed before but his flag also said “and f#&% you if you voted for him”. That portion kind of set me off. Normally I wouldn’t say or do anything but I did have my 9mm in the truck with me so I flipped him off and mouthed “how about f#&% you” as he was looking at me. Surprisingly Mr. backwards dips#!t didn’t do anything but a deal like that could’ve easily escalated. So I’m a DB but I figured it was only fair if he’s going advertise his feelings with a flag like that.

Maybe we need an Angry Violent Center thread

First I call BS on the whole story it sounds made up, but just so I understand this correctly, YOU willingly engaged with someone who's opinions are different than yours.  Verbally harassed   this person,  again because his opinions are different than yours and the only reason why you did it is because you felt like a big mad with YOUR gun, we have no idea if he had one or not.  And the person who did not start this altercation or do anything after you did your little song and dance is a "DIPSH IT" AND A "Knuckledragger"

You are right they do reduce a persons inhibitions, why didn't you challenge him to a fist fight if you are so brave or are you only brave when you have a gun?

?   Surely you’re not suggesting we have two QBs in the mold and abilities of those two?  You’re saying - if only?  Cause none are anywhere near a Frazier and Brook was on a much higher level than any of the currents at this point.  If we had Berringer, a 6 win season would be highly likely and healthy all year, 8-9 is possible, IF the play calling and scheme shifted radically.  Lol.

Put away your microscope, I just meant we have a QB battle. It was hyperbole

That's what kills me - as if a fan that points out the negative isn't a true fan. That's ridiculous. I point out both the good and the bad, when I see fit. Voicing criticism doesn't make me any less of a true fan; I call it like I see it. It can't be sunshine and unicorns all the time. After 20 years of mediocrity and irrelevance, I can definitely understand those who have a pessimistic view of things. I used to be super-optimistic -- Husker football was one reliable thing I could count on each week to perform well. However, over the past two decades my mindset has progressed to the point where I now expect the worst. Sadly, more often than not, it comes to fruition. That said, you'll never hear me complain about the poor product during the season, because it's what I've come to expect. Meanwhile, the overly optimistic fans -- the ones who believed all the recruiting hype and "we looked great at practice" spiel from the coach -- are the ones throwing a fit and having a meltdown, while at the same time condemning those of us who anticipated it. It's laughable. I might not agree with others' opinions, but I respect the views of all, and that's all that I (and others like me) expect in return... not condemnation and being told I'm "not a true fan" and that "maybe you should find another team to cheer for" and other nonsense. Preparing for, and anticipating, the worst isn't necessarily a bad thing. I have high expectations for this program and while others' expectations have declined over the years I refuse to lower mine.

Heck, I was more optimistic than anyone about the Frost hire... hasn't quite turned out the way I've expected.

    You are so brave.
