I don't really care that some players didn't want to, there are things more important than football and that year was a grind. It was just a bad idea to roll with the "we're a team, so we'll decide as a team" thing IMO. I get it, but at the same time what's going to cause more friction - wanting to play in a bowl game and being unable to because teammates didn't want to, or playing in a bowl game shorthanded because some players opted to go home? I'd say the former, easily. I don't think there would have been many hard feelings toward those who opted out of the bowl game, certainly not harder feelings than there actually were when it prevented anyone from playing.

Yes, I absolutely 100% agree with your post. If certain players did not want to play I believe they should have been able to opt out. I would not have held any ill will towards them. However I think there was a lot of players that did want to play in a bowl game and I think that their voices must not have felt like they were heard. To me it just seems like you're running away from a fight and that's not the Nebraska football team I know.

On the plus side though I do think that Frost finally has a team of players that 100% want to be here and I think are going to contribute to make this a better program. As I say that I do remember hearing I believe it was Sam McEwen on the radio yesterday saying to expect transfers, who and what positions he wasn't clear on. I look at it as addition by subtraction. Kind of the same way I looked at McCaffrey and Robinson leaving.

Look I say some really dumb stuff but even I’m struggling to see how you came to this ridiculous conclusion

Strong case of foot in mouth disorder.

Tyjon is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. But even then....

    Ok, I was wrong there!

i though strength and conditioning was supposed to fortify our guys to less injuries?  seems hopeless we have so many guys who can't get through a whole game or practice without getting hurt. everyone ends "nicked up" and then they are out for half the season or more. are we recruiting the wrong body types?  at least it appears so.

and look at Stepp, he gets off the plane in Lincoln and is immediately pronounced injured!  and we didn't know that?  he didn't know that?  right. we are desperate.

See I feel the same way, How in the wide wide world of sports does the USC and Nebraska staff, not catch what it is he is injured with.  Misdiagnosed ? That seems like a reach considering the univerristies usually have top of the line staff and equipment to prevent a misdiagnosis. But here we are all the same. I don't expect to see Stepp ever carry the ball but thats just me.

Also you know what would jazz up this board? Is if we could get pop up adds every 2-3 seconds..................

  4. I'm drinking the Kool-Aid. I would like to see bets line up at tight end position just a package to throw the defense off and plus I think he has enough speed and athleticism to beat linebackers.

Back when we had Wandale, I wanted Frost to run a package with four wide tight ends and then put wanDale on the line in the tight end position. So you have height and size difference on the outside and then a speed difference in the Middle with Robinson. I think it would be a big mismatch for the defense. Plus the quarterback could run with the tight ends blocking.

  5. I tried to toot my own horn here but I predicted smothers and Manning would be a dynamic duo. Honestly I'm drinking all the Kool-Aid this year I haven't felt this good about Nebraska football a long time I think we're going to win some football games

  6. I don't know why by the height worries me. I know it shouldn't but it just seems to me that at 6'1 it would be difficult for him to stay in the pocket as a pro style QB and see over our linemen.

I know Brees and Rogers and others say hello, and the height is not to be a real concern, but I can get over it.

  7. Yeah I am a little perplexed about Stepp injury. He didn't know about the injury and our staff didn't know about it before here transfered here? Seems odd that neither  USC didn't know about it or did not disclose it. Stepp didn't know about it or didn't disclose it and our staff didn't do a medical evaluation before he came here...
