  1. I understand that there is outliers to it all, but if Nebraska is replacing freshman running back with freshman running back the the evaluation process needs to be adjusted. Its not like Ervin was unseating a 1000 yard rusher I mean Ramir doesn't even have 500 yards over his career let alone season so in that instance yeah lets try the freshman. But in my opinion it would be great to have a returning starter who has racked up some yards and tds who is maybe a JR then the 2ND string is a SO and then you sprinkle in the freshman in mop up duty.   Again if we land the next Derrick Henry  by all means play him but until then lets build some depth and string together a system like Bo had with Helu then Berkhead the Ameer and keep that train chugging.

Wisconsin has a oline that you can do a plug and play RB, their system is pretty water tight when it comes to Oline and RB. I do wonder where they got that idea from though?

  2. Oline has been a thorn in my side for a long time. Mainly it's the lack of "we are going to stomp your teeth down your throat" attitude that frustrates me the most. I mean watching the offensive line dominate and then having a 3rd string Nebraska running back go up the middle for 50 yards in the 3rd quarter is what I grew up on. I just think that they are soft mentally. They don't have that burn the ships switch that you need to be a dominating offensive line.

Even at NU there have been some really good freshman seasons

Ahman Green, DeAngelo Evans, Calvin Jones, David Horne, Lawrence Phillips

I mean 3 of those guys played behind the greatest offensive line in the history of Nebraska football, so that might have had something to do with it also. As well as being great athletes.

Wasn't Ervin a freshman starter last year?

That is true, what I was alluding to is that in year 5 under Frost it would be nice if we had some depth at the RB position instead of playing incoming freshmen every year.  I just do not think that it is a recipe for success to keep replacing rbs or any position with freshmen unless necessary of course. I would like to see a combination of RBs though and have a FR sprinkled in but to keep having a starting FR RB, I can not see how that would be beneficial to the team.

Not Earth shattering production from Ervin either

I wouldn't. Yes those guys are ultra talented but just dont think the personalities mess well with team first. Now im not saying i know anyone one of those guys in their daily lives but their is a certain vibe that doesn't come off well for me to have them on the team. I could be wrong that all those high ranked qb's are great guys but it sure doesn't look that way from how they represent themselves in a positive way. Yes everyone wants so called winners(5 stars) but at what cause???

I mean OU has had 4 Heisman winning QBs in the last 22 years, played in the final 4 idk how many times. I would say that the success that they have had has vastly outweighed the supposed negative that comes along with pre Madonna's.

Is it just me but if he didn't have the name attachment does he come across as a high privilege qb I instead of we mentality???? Almost like a Quinn Ewers or a Spencer Rattler where his personality wouldn't work well here cultural fit. Scott Frost says it takes the right players to be here and i know everyone would love to have those qb talents bc of their abilities on the field just don't think it work out well here for any of them. Im glad we got CT.

I hear what you are saying, my only comment is I would rather be playing with them instead of against them.

AM will never get old he left a footprint on the university as one one of the most productive qbs ever for us.

He was also really productive for the opposing teams we played.

Frost biggest downfall is that he never brought in anyone to really challenge AM for the starting spot.

That's what I've been saying but people want SF gone or don't believe in his product or want a change. Who else would you have in mind if he doesn't succeed and fails?

That is a good question. I am also a big Frost fan however after last season I was wanting a change, either in a complete head coaching change (Bill O'Brian) or what Frost did, an upgrade. I preferred the upgrade because a Head coaching change can often set you back even if it is a great hire.

Who would you want to hire that is realistic for Nebraska to get?
