We better be 4-0 going into the Michigan game.  Must wins for me are Minnesota, Colorado, NI, LA Tech, Northwestern, Iowa.  If any of these games are losses...Houston, we have a problem.

This is, frankly, an absurd and delusional take. If nothing else, Minnesota is a solid, disciplined team and we will rightfully be underdogs in that game. In addition, you have no idea what Colorado will look like next year and Northern Illinois is usually not a terrible program.

The rest of the examples have something we have not be given yet.....Evidence which gives you charges.  It'll come.  But any conclusion drawn upon absolutely zero evidence is lazy and ignorant.

You know Mickey Joseph was arrested and charged, right? You think that happens without evidence?

Also, once again, Enhance is talking about the likelihood of what will happen. Mickey isn't fired with cause today, and we're not operating as if he is. It's just a matter of exploring what's likely to come.

It is a horrible look for the university, but like we didn’t already look bad.

I don't think it's a horrible look for the university at all. If anything, I'd say public perception wise it's closer to a net positive - this has come as a massive shock to everyone inside and outside of Nebraska and nobody representing the program has offered up defense for him while Trev decisively put him on leave.

But if you believe firing someone based upon an accusation is just, which is where this all started, there is nothing for us to discuss/debate.  It’s flat out dangerous.

The conversation actually did not start at whether firing someone based on an accusation is just or not. It started in regards to whether the firing is likely or not - it being 'just' wasn't a part of that conversation.

What you can't seem to get is regardless of if it's just, if it's following the terms of the contract, it's doable. If his contract states one cause he could be fired for is if someone accuses him of being an alien from the horsehead nebula, and then someone does claim that, even if it's not true, he can still be fired with cause. Similarly but less hyperbolically, if his contract has language surrounding bringing bad PR to the university or getting into legal trouble as fireable offenses, which it likely does, then he will be fired with cause.

You alluded he should be fired.  With no investigation, evidence or follow up.  I work in America.  It’s unfortunate that “Due Process” is somehow bizarre.

Enhance did not allude to how Mickey should be fired. He alluded to the likely probability that he will be fired. Quit making such audacious claims while simultaneously failing in having average reading comprehension.

No they don’t.  You are absolutely pulling stuff out of that place.

You need cause or you’re 100% setting yourself up for a lawsuit.

Yeah, and the cause doesn't have to be a good one - just an agreed upon one in the contract.

Contracts include clauses like this all the time.

  6. To be clear I'm not making any accusations at all. I have no clue if it's true or not, but if you filter through the LPD calls from today there is a hit for a 'simple assault' call to his block.

I won't post a link to the county website where you can see his registered ownership of his house/address but an assault call to a block where he owns a house is something sourced from government websites.

Did he just grab some really good talent nobody saw early at Cincy or did he develop players like no other? This last year is kind of a red flag that maybe Fickell isn’t the sure fire coaches he is being made out to be.

Come on. His resume is outstanding. Three one score losses against a better-than-their-record Arkansas, #22 UCF and #18 Tulane (in the last game of the season where Fickell was surely distracted with contract negotiations). That's a really good season, don't let him going 44-7 in the previous four years work against him.

My one concern about Mickey being retained and going back to WR coach and AHC is that there could be a core group of players who would still look at Mickey as “their head coach”. I am not saying Mickey would be divisive, but it could just happen naturally with the way the players are.  That would undermine Rhule’s ability to create the program how he wants it to be. That’s why it may be best for the long-term to have a clean break and move forward with a completely new staff.

    Mickey wouldn't let that happen.

Didn't Riley get some crazy low ball salary after he got fired and we still had to pay?

Yes. He went back to Oregon State to be an assistant head coach or consultant depending on the source, and his salary was $50,004 per year.

Fun fact - I went to Frost's first game against Colorado. For the record, I didn't have a single alcoholic drink that day.

Near the end of the 3rd quarter and into the 4th, I started having vision issues like I've never had before. I started seeing a small black mass everywhere I looked. And if I looked directly at a player on the field, it was almost like they'd disappear and I'd just see the grass in front of/behind them.

By the time the game ended, I had the worst headache of my life, the continued vision issues, and nausea. I had to lay on a campus bench for almost 30 minutes to collect myself after I got out of the stadium. When we got to the parking garage, I threw up in a trash can.

TLDR I got my first migraine ever that day. It was awful. I spent my entire evening on my couch with the lights off, in misery. If that's not foreshadowing...

So my secret super duper migraine laser video camera worked!

And think about this from Rhule's perspective - he'd have to be out of his damn mind to shut down a guaranteed $40 million in exchange for at best half of that.

But that guarantee is still guaranteed though..

I agree with all your points but in a theoretical world where Rhule takes this job for a 2mil base salary and doesn't hit any incentives, he's still getting 8mil per year from Carolina.

Do you really know kids who are doing this on college apps?  More than one?  Even one by name?

completely unrelated to the shooting story, but people on dating apps do s#!t like this all the time. I mean, it's a very small percentage of people, but it absolutely happens - plenty of gay men put their gender as female so they show up in straight men's potential matches as an example.

Saw last night that the shooter identifies publicly as non-binary. If actually true would be quite interesting especially if applied to a statement like this.

One would think by your words that you believe someone who calls a trans woman a man is purposely trying to denigrate that person.  If I’m wrong please correct.

If so you should apply that same standard to a person that calls someone else other than their chosen name because it is also trying to denigrate that person.   Calling Ron, Rhonda or Trump, Orange man bad, or Biden, Mush brain etc.

    They're both examples of denigrating.

They're not both clear violations of twitter's user agreement rules at the time.

So those people should be banned from twitter based on the old rules, correct?

Would depend on their history and context. It's exceptionally easy to tell the difference between that and what the Babylon Bee did. Much easier than any impressive contortionist act to bend the pedantry enough to claim they're equally in violation of the same rule.
