Nearly every show in this franchise is rife with issues. At some point you have to accept that it's part of the fabric of the story and move on.

I don't love the OT because of the incredible writing; I don't think anyone does.

That doesn't mean the writing has to suck moving forward 50 years later. There's a way to respect the source material without making the stuff you build off of it kind of suck. The way Disney has fumbled the ball with live action Star Wars is mind-boggling. Outside of TFA (which was a beat for beat reboot of ANH, and imo needed to be so) and Rogue One, and bits and pieces of The Mandalorian, it's been a trainwreck.

The force ghost stuff could just be the depression and guilt that Obi-Wan felt after the end of ROTS. Not wanting to open up to hear Qui-Gon and feel the pain and guilt of failing with Qui-Gon's last request to train the boy. Qui-Gon also not pushing for his voice to be heard because Obi-Wan isn't ready to hear how to become a force ghost.

 

The last we should have seen Vader should have been when he walks out of the hanger bay after defeating Reva. The trick that Obi-Wan pulled in episode 5 to help with the escape is a perfect ending to that plot. They didn't need the duel in episode 6, not that it took some of the shine away from Vader, but it felt the most fanservicy moment in a show that was made of fanservice. Ep 6 should have instead focused on Reva getting to Tatooine and assaulting the Lars homestead leading to a Luke chase that ended with Obi-Wan talking Reva down. The reason Obi-Wan was on Tatooine at all was to protect Luke, and he did a piss poor job of that.

First of all nobody literally gives a single s#!t about how amazing of a teacher you are. Second of all, I'm worried you're going to need to go to the chiropractor you're patting yourself on the back way, way too hard. Third of all, there's a difference between being unrealistic with things you can control and things you can't. Your perseverance and dedication as a teacher is on you - how your favorite football team does on the recruiting trail doesn't have a single ounce to do with you, so not sure how or why you're bringing up your personal life in regards to expectations surrounding recruiting.

Your standards are that we're underperforming based on what you would like and want us to be. But reality doesn't care about what you want.

Mavric's standards are based on what's reasonable considering what and where we are, namely, a team with five straight losing seasons and 20 years since a championship or top ten finish. 

One is rooted in actually looking at the situation, the other is rooted in wishful thinking. Neither is wrong, but one is, by definition, unreasonable. That's yours.

Sorry, which is it. Conference or national titles? You can't say both and then only use the evidence for one.

Plenty of schools not recruiting top 10 classes every year but winning conference championships.

Finding cheap parking anywhere in Chicago is not hard if you're willing to walk even just a few blocks. 

The last three months i lived there I had a full-time freelance placement working at Wilson Sporting Goods downtown across the street from the bean and I parked for $8 every day. Never paid more than $10-15 max for an event or a night doing anything unless a friend had cash to burn and was unwilling to walk three blocks.

Yesterday was rough. I was 9 years old when Columbine happened, so mass shootings have been a part of my entire life developmentally.

As someone that lived in Chicago for four years and has a lot of friends in the northern suburbs, yesterday was the first time I've ever had to text friends to make sure they're safe and okay because of a mass shooting. Makes me absolutely queasy.
